We do not normally write reviews but after staying at Mena Camp site we just had to put pen to paper as they used to say.

We had such a great time on this site, my children loved the week and we will be returning, they had so much to do. Fresh air and all a parent would want, a child to have. The dogs had a great time too.

We did not know at the time of booking, that they have just opened a breakfast bar/cafe, this was fantastic as every morning we could just wake up and go and have breakfast cooked for us, how easy was this for us.

They serve all day and good food. This is a friendly site, a family run business who are all very nice including the old guy who cuts the grass, he looks like green grass from heartbeat LOL.

We can only say this site is a must if you want clean fresh air and quite times or if you have a family then its a must, we forgot to say the kids loved the fishing in there pond.

This was our third stay and I must say that we love coming here. The owners are a lovely couple and very welcoming. It is peaceful, rural and has brilliantly clean facilities.

Bodmin is a short drive away where there are 3 major supermarkets, plus many independent shops. The surrounding countryside is stunning and the location is ideal for travelling around to any of the coastal towns/beaches, Eden Project, Moors, cycle routes, walking or just enjoying a peaceful break.

We intend returning later this year.

We selected this site initially for its location and good value. Little did we know then just how good this was to be. The site is perfectly located for touring Cornwall with the added attraction of not being too far from Devon. While set in open countryside it is easily accessible from A30 just a short distance away and only about a 10/15 minute drive to Bodmin for Supermarkets etc. Although there is occasionally a distant 'buzz' from A30 traffic it is certainly not intrusive. We can highly recommend both the Pub and the Fish and Chip Restaurant/Take-away in Lanivet (closest village)

The site is kept in immaculate order and; while we only had use for the laundry facilities; the toilet and laundry block was spotless. It has a good games room but no clubhouse/bar etc, although we consider this to be an advantage as we seldom use such facilities which tend to push up prices anyway.

There is ample room for children to play safely on site with well constructed play equipment with the added bonus of a visit to the chickens and pet pigs. Our 10 year old daughter had a whale of a time and didn't want to come home.

We selected to stay in a Static due mainly to the time of year. Of all the statics we have stayed in this was pretty much the best equipped we have ever found, including those at more than twice the price.

Now to the owners. Seldom have we encountered more friendly and downright helpful people. We are already looking forward to our next visit which will not be too long away.

I contacted Mena about 2 months prior to my visit to enquire about availability and prices. Kirsty was very helpful and great to deal with.

I found the camp site easy to find and in a great location. Far enough from main roads to not get traffic roads, but not completely out in the sticks. Not far to go to all main tourist attractions in the SW Cornwall. All members of staff were friendly, like good banter and were very welcoming.

We got a corner pitch, 4 of us on motorbikes with a tent each. We had a bit of room to ourselves and told that we could park the bikes next to a pitch that was under maintenance. There were no real rules as such which was nice. All we had to do was to be polite, courteous and not too noisy at night/early morning.

The grounds were well cared for and the pitch size and locations are well thought out.

The camp site has very good toilet and shower facilities. Very clean, usable, free and open 24 hours.

Unable to comment on the games room as we never went in.

Tea, coffee and toast in the morning was a good price and a good way to start the day.

Would very much stay here again when visiting the area again.

Popular Choice in this Area

Tregarton Park, Mevagissey

With sea and countryside views, Tregarton Park is ideal for couples or families with younger children, given its relaxed seclusion and proximity to so many of Cornwall's fine safe sandy beaches. Large grass and hardstanding pitches with electric, divided by hedging and shrubs, perfect for tents and tourers. No statics! Superb toilet and shower block with large glass shower cubicles operated by motion sensors with ceiling mounted shower heads, laundry room, baby changing station.

This peaceful park is home to an outdoor heated swimming pool with waiter service, tennis court, adventure playground, outdoor football table, table tennis, pool table, large shop and take away service. FREE WiFi, dog walking meadow. Pentewan Beach is just five minutes away! Find out more here

What a great campsite, warm welcome when we arrived, the staff showed us to our pitch, which was the biggest we have ever had.

Our dog's really enjoyed going for there run's in the fields next to the site, even with the rain we had there was no muddy driveways.

The showers and toilets were really great. The only problem we had was having to come home after a great time.

Think we'll be going down to Mena again

We have just spent 10 nights on this site, lovely warm welcome from staff on our arrival and they were also very helpful throughout our stay. Lovely level site with big pitches.

The hillside location meant the ground had coped well with all the recent rain and no puddles appeared when it did rain unlike other sites we have visited.

Will be returning as this site has a great central location which made visiting all areas of Cornwall easily accessible!

What a brilliant site, very clean and well kept, with the friendliest people ever. There are 2 separate ablution blocks which are unisex but all toilets and showers have secure doors so I don't have any problem with that. One thing I would say is the floors are concrete and very cold when you get out the shower, they could do with some of the wooden slatted mat things to stand on while you get dry.

The wooded lake area would be wonderful on a nice day, unfortunately it rained almost the entire time we were there, having said that we didn't have any problem with mud or being water-logged. You could also walk round to see the chickens which produced your breakfast, and the pigs.

The local village has all you need, a late shop, a pub that do meals and a chip shop that does nice meals besides fish and chips, but you do need transport to get there.

Just got back from 7 nights at Mena. Great stay on good-sized plot. Ian and his family treated us like family and our dog, Basil, is suffering withdrawal symptoms from not walking around the fishing lake and visiting the chickens!

It's in a good spot to visit both North and South coasts. 10 minutes from Eden Project.

Last bit of road up to the site is narrow but not used by much traffic. The games room is a nice touch with tv. , table-tennis and snooker.

A lot of thought has gone into this site. The site is well laid out and the needs of all the users are accommodated, adults, children and pets. Well organised and the facilities are great. The site spans a large area, with enough room to accommodate most leisure vehicles and all mode of campers! The site is set so that parents cans watch their children playing in the centre field on swings and playground equipment. There is a quieter area for the older campers who just wish for peace and quite, just let the owners know what type of site you would like, we are sure they would accommodate you! When taking your dogs for a walk, don't forget your fishing rods. At the bottom of the paddock there is a well stocked little pond, ideal to teach the little ones the rules of the sport as well allowing you to leisure the time away and escape into country bliss. Another experience of the countryside can be witnessed in the freerange chickens, producing freerange eggs, another culinary pleasure of this leisure holiday! There is a games rooms for the older teenager and this site is well situated so you can enjoy day trips to most areas of Cornwall. We will be going back to this site as the dogs love the opportunity to run, run and run, in the designated area, with doggy waste bins readily available, all well away from the camping areas. Enjoy your holiday.
