Really enjoyed our stay, nice quite site at the time we were there, good roomy pitches, lots with electric hook-up.One down side is it gets quite windy especially in the evening.

Would recommend the walk down to Talland Bay, to join the costal path, we walked to polperro. Didn't walk into Looe, as one part of the road didn't have a path, and the road was very narrow and busy.

Toilet block clean enough, could probably do with an update, but ok for the price you pay, which is really cheap.Everything else was spot on.Very frendly owners, the site shop wasn't open as it was low season, so can't comment on that. There is a take away van at the entrance to the site, which seemed very popular.

Would recommend a ride on the Looe to Lisguard railway line, lovely scenery, and only just over a fiver return.

Good Indian restaurant in Looe, very popular, we didn't book, but went early.Lots of other eating places too.

Would also recommend a visit to Trago Mills, near Doublebois, really is a shopping experience, it sells everything you can think of, also has a couple of cafes, we ate in the Avery, and it was very good, and reasonably priced.

Would definitely return to this site.

Went for 4 days during Whitsun the site wasn't overly busy which was nice. Lovely views down the valley to Talland bay, the walk to Talland bay is about 15 minutes there are 2 small beaches separated by cliffs both have cafes and are worth a visit. Nearby is Looe where fishing trips can be booked and has an abundance of different restaurants etc The kids really enjoyed crab fishing from the harbour. Near by are the oldy worldy quaint fishing villages of Polperro and Fowey both worth a visit. The best thing though was the price 9.50 per night with electric for 2 adults and 3 kids aged 5,4 and 1 cant wait to go back in the summer

Wow,what a find.I've been visiting cornwall for over 20 years and sadly driven past this site numerous times and never given a thought to pay it a visit what a pity as I've missed out. I was looking for a camp site that was peaceful as I was holidaying with my wife, 2 year old twins and my mother. If it's peace and tranquillity you're after then this is the site for you. The lady that runs the camping side is very strict on noise and anyone being a nuisance to others is removed from site promptly. About the site. The pitches are very large and well marked out although it was busy we never felt at all claustrophobic plenty of space for all, I have a large 7 man tent Renault Espace car, trailer, 3 wind breaks ,sun canopy and all fitted on pitch with room to spare. The shop is well stocked and reasonably priced, there is a takeaway available in the evenings also well priced. The toilet/showers were spotless and free. The site has a slight slope but not enough to worry about, when booking in I asked for a flat pitch and the lady said everyone asks the same. I found no pitches are any better than any other, just accept what you. The views are lovely looking out to the see and Looe island. There is a play area for kids not fantastic but kept the twins happy. Looe is a short drive away as is the lovely village Polpero and the animal park at Porfell is certainly worth a visit, one of the keepers allowed my 2 year olds to stroke a Coati their first encounter with an animal other than a cat or dog and made there day. Trago mills a half hour drive away is worth a visit for bargain shopping it sells almost everything you can think of. Cost to camp, I paid £13.50 per night for 3 adults 2 kids and electricity hook up.

Very quiet clean site with elec, slight slope nothing that cant be sorted with a set of levels. Toilet block fair to good, price exceptional . Central to Looe & Polperro great for sight seeing, nice walks (Talland Bay) No club which might not be to everyone’s taste especially those with kids, small shop selling all you will need & Brenda! What can I say; all makes for a very nice break.

We have a large vango diablo tent with canopy just fitted on but as we had friends on the next pitch so shared adjoining grass but had space to park car on the pitch let me say don't let that put you off this site.

I thought the kids would be bored but they made plenty of friends.

The pitches were really good the grass is kept short all year round so not the type that is cut just before the seasons starts and is like straw they weren't level but not to much of a slope and we had a lot of rain and never got muddy it drained really well.

The toilets and showers were cleaned everyday didn't get the usual muddy footprint or grass in them when it rained plus they were hot and free.

Didn't have alot of hot water for washing up, must be from a different tank as the showers but we just boiled the kettle.

Good views down to the sea saw the odd frigate.

Now for brenda. You will either love her ot hate her she runs the site with a rod of iron. She knows whats going on around the site. So don't try sneaking a gazebo up after you've paid you wont get away with it. She walk round early doors. Which in my opinion is good.

She doesn't take unsociable campers, if you make a lot of noise after hours you will be off the next morning.

We have booked for next year and at £13.30 for 2 adults 2 kids with electric at height of season is a bargain. Shop is well stocked with fresh and frozen produce.

Loved this site so much we are returning again in 08. The site was full but the pitches are well sized. The facilities are clean and well maintained, the showers are either hot or cold however none of us really minded because the sheer simplicity of this site is what makes it a fantastic holiday. No noisy clubs or distractions from a great bit of family time.

This campsite is ideal for anyone after a really peaceful and quiet break, they won't tolerate noise late at night and they refuse to have any trouble at all. The facilities are better than most campsites. The campsite is located central to Polperro and Looe. The campsite has on site fish and chip shop and the toilet block and showers are clean and maintained!

Just returned from this site having spent 3 nights in a tent .
Excellent value for money if you want a site with out clubs and swimming etc.The children were allowed to play quite freely and most people seemed to stick to the no noise after 11 rule those that didn't were dealt with quickly -
Whilst there there was a group being quite loud with bad language quite late, this was dealt with straight away, the group and tent were gone before morning. The only thing I think the site could improve on would be to provide more showers (only 3 ladies and 3 men's)temperature could be a bit erratic!.Despite there only being three showers we never really had to wait and the camp site was pretty full.
Would certainly recommend this site for families.
The nearest town Looe around 2 miles , has a lovely sandy(but small )beach, you do have to park quite a long way from it though, still exercise is good!

This has to be my favourite site. The site is kept spotless, the toilet block and showers are always clean ( toilets bleached at least twice a day ). The site is central to all the best places, Looe, Talland Bay and Polperro. There is no club house therefore no noise. The site has large well kept pitches a small shop and a kiddies play area.

For value this is one of the cheapest sites we have come across.

Brenda is lovely and so funny.

We have booked again for next year ( third year in a row )

I highly recommend West Waylands.

Stayed May bank hol. Although the weather was terrible the site was clean and well looked after. Brenda ruled with a rod of iron and made sure dogs were kept under control and was very helpful. Plenty of pitches around a central children's  basic play area.
Shop on site and chippie van, very expensive. Showers and toilets basic and no hot running water due to break down! A very steep walk to and from the beach, too far for young ones to haul back up, nice cafe at beach.
Polperro 2 1/2 mile nice for a day out, Looe has got all basic amenities, but will need a car to get about.
