 Really good few days here.
All facilities good with hot water at all times.
Site still needs grass trees bushes etc,but is is a city site so space is tight.
Gate to harbour is handy.Note main gate has card lock system.
TV analogue already switched off.
Local bus is good but would be better if it ran a bit later in evening.
Always something going on which makes it hard to get in.

This was our third stay at this site and normally have booked well in advance but on this occasion we only booked on the Monday for the following weekend so keep your eyes peeled for late availability.
As other reviews have said the site is greatly positioned on the waterfront of this great city and you can catch a water taxi right out side the site. The pub next door also does great food.
Unfortunately this trip was not so memorable for us as someone tried to steal the bikes off the back of our motorhome during the night but were disturbed. I therefore have to question the security of this site and solely for this reason I don't think we will return.

This site is in a great position for visiting Bristol centre by foot, bus, bike or water. The toilet block could be bigger (only 6 showers and toilets in total) Most of the pitches are a bit tight, we saw two motor homes only about 12 feet apart. Because the site is small there is no play area. The wardens had only been at this site for a couple of weeks and were very helpful and friendly and understood our concerns. I think if you are just visiting or using as a stopover the site is ideal but as a holiday location I would not recommend.

Easy to find using the directions provided by the Caravan Club, our pitch allocation was waiting for us on the late arrivals board, the site being a city location was small and compact, with very little greenery but just what you would expect.
The toilet block was up to the usual caravan club standard, the only complaint was that you were only given one key that opened both the gents and ladies doors, which was a bit of a pain as you either had to accompany your partner to open their door before handing over key, so as to be able to open or go one at a time to the toilet block.
The location is the winner for this campsite, with its own gate that opens straight out onto the harbour site right next to a good pub. You can catch the ferry up to the town or there was a bus stop right outside the camp entrance. Lots to do in and around Bristol and we had a lovely sunny January break and would happily return.

This is an ideal site 20 minutes walk from the City centre. Friendly Wardens -spotlessly clean toilets and showers. Bus stop right out side site, we walked into Bristol stopping off to visit the SS Great Britain and caught the bus back.
The Wharf is accessible through a gate at the back of the site where the ferry stops. We ate at the Cottage Pub 2 minutes walk from the back gate. Lovely atmosphere, excellent food -good portions. Can't wait to stay on this site again in the summer.

Exe Valley Caravan Site - Exmoor
This award winning Adults Only campsite has a working 17th century watermill in a peaceful wooded valley within the Exmoor National Park. Grass and hardstanding pitches, all set beside the River Exe or the sparkling mill stream, with electric, water, drainage, and TV hook-ups. A leisurely stroll up to a weir, and an area where dogs may run free and splash in the river.
Facilities include the beautiful dog walk, free wifi, fishing, modern toilet and shower block, dog wash, working watermill (tours on most Sunday mornings), salmon pass on the weir, shop, bus service, and excellent pubs in the locality. Loved this site!
The wardens were very friendly and remembered people's names - a first in my experience. The site is small but perfectly positioned with bus and river ferry stops right outside. (recommend a day rover ticket on the ferry - just hop on and off where you like or stay on for a wonderful tour of Bristol. However a walk into the centre on either side of the river doesn't take that long and there's lots to see en route.
The cottage pub is right next door and we enjoyed a very nice meal there and there are loads of lovely riverside restaurants in the city centre.
A shop about 100yds from entrance sells papers and most other essentials and keeps open for long hours so convenient in every sense.
We were there for the balloon fiesta and it is only a short walk from the site to the venue but the balloons could be viewed in the sky from the site too. We had an excellent view of the red arrows too!
Perhaps only downside is lack of very close dog walk or any grassy areas for those 'last thing at night walkies' but small price to pay for the convenience of being so close to a beautiful city.

This Caravan Club site has a waterside location in the heart of the redeveloped dockland close to Bristol City Centre. It is open all the year round to members and non-members. You’ll be given a key to the back gate which brings you out on the quayside and access to the city by water taxi. Alternatively outside the front gate the 500 bus also takes you into the city and runs every 20 minutes.
There are 55 touring pitches on quite a small area and all are hardstandings for all-weather use. Pitches are level but some do not allow awnings. Visitors have to park off-site but there is a pay and display car park next door
There is a single heated toilet block with good showers, WCs and privacy cubicles. You can have your early morning shower accompanied by Sarah Kennedy (piped radio2). Also a disabled bathroom, washing up/vegetable preparation area and laundry facilities.
Service points for water and rubbish disposal. Also chemical disposal facilities. Recycling facilities for glass and paper.
Excellent information room which included brochures on all the local tourist facilities, public transport timetables and dining-out opportunities.
There is no dog walk on site but there are plenty of walks around to please Fido.
Mini supermarket with off-licence two minutes walk away or ASDA supermarket a short drive.
We paid £14.90 a night for pitch with electricity and two adults.
Local attractions include:
• Five minutes walk away is the SS Great Britain, Brunel’s iron hulled sailing ship which has been completely rebuilt since it was towed back to Bristol in 1970 as a shell. Excellent audio tour and a ticket will entitle you to come back again and again for a year.
• Ten minutes walk away is the Bristol City Council Create Centre, which focuses on environmental issues with displays and information on many green issues including recycling. The EcoHome demonstrates ways you can save energy. Entry is free and the café is very reasonable serving healthy food for people with big appetites.
• Explore @ Bristol is a science centre in the docklands with hands-on experiments to amuse the young and young-at-heart
• Bristol Zoo Gardens is a short drive away or take the bus or cycle
• Shop till you drop in the city centre. St Nicholas Market is great for food from around the world, second-hand books and crafts. Alternatively there is a large out-of-town shopping complex at Cribbs Causeway that can rapidly deplete your bank balance.
Being close to the city centre you will get some noise from traffic and emergency vehicles but you have to offset that with accessibility to all the city attractions. The wardens were first class, very helpful and kept the facilities to a very high standard. We shall return.

What a great site! You have to book way in advance as the site is so popular but it's worth the wait. The setting is lovely, right on the waterfront and close to the city centre.
The site is small but pitches are well laid out and all hard standing. The facilities are a bit dated but are kept spotless at all times.
Transport links are excellent which is great when you are in a motorhome. We went into the city centre by water taxi but there is also a bus stop for regular buses and an open top tour bus just outside the site gates. When booking in the Warden gives you details and timetables of all these services.
The SS Great Britain is a short walk away and is fascinating, well worth a visit and the open top tour bus takes you to all the local sites of interest including Bristol Zoo and Clifton Village.
We will return as often as we can as there is so much to see and do in the area and great public transport!

This site is in an excellent location, right next to the river. It is very handy for sightseeing, and is just five minutes' walk from the SS Great Britain, which is really worth seeing. It is also easy to walk along the river front, and over the bridge into the city centre - or you can use the ferries during the day time.
The shower block facilities are very good, bright, warm and clean.
All the pitches, as far as we could see, were hard-standing.
The Cottage pub tht is right next door to the site does good food.
We found easy to find the site coming into Bristol, but slightly harder to get out again. The one way system is confusing.
We will almost certainly stay here again, if we can book a pitch. It is a small site, in an unusually good location, so it books up fast. While we were there, in early October, we overheard the owners saying that they have no pitches available at weekends until the end of January!

We have been visiting this site for many years and never get tired of the site or Bristol.
Some pitches are a bit small, sometimes its your choice but when the staff are allocating we always seem to be put in a corner or on a small pitch. Facilities are 1st class and always clean and tidy.We like to use the waterside gate and take chairs and a drink to watch whats going on.
Lots of events centered round the water over the year. Harbour Festival is good, even better if it not raining !
Well worth booking early for this site any time of the year.
