 Lovely site, spacious pitches, tidy, clean amenities,
Next to main road but not affected by traffic noise, 15min walk to village.

An excellent site. All the hardstanding pitches ( of which there are about 30 ) are fully serviced with electricity, water tap, grey waste disposal and a TV connection. They all have plenty of grass around them and around the site generally so that, even though the site was full for one day while we were there ( a Saturday ), it did not feel very crowded.
As a previous review has pointed out, the toilet block is quite a walk and uphill from many of the pitches. It is kept very clean though.
There is a very pleasant walk to Hawkshead village from the site, fenced off from adjacent fields so dogs can be let off leads. The path runs parallel to a stream which our dog loved as a respite from the hot weather.
The village is about 15-20 minutes’ walk from the site.
The bus from Ambleside to Coniston goes past the site entrance but there is no official bus stop there. The nearest stop is in Hawkshead village, at the far end from the site, and I was told by the tourist information office that buses might stop between official stops if you flag them down but not if it is dangerous to stop and the site entrance might be considered to be too dangerous to stop. I did not try flagging a bus down there.

Lovely site in a tranquil location. Excellent toilet/shower facilities which were kept beautifully clean. Laundry facilities very reasonably priced.
However if you suffer with mobility issues as we do the following should be born in mind. There are only 2 hard standing pitches near the toilet block, all other caravan pitches are a considerable uphill walk away.
Having pitched up near to the facilities we were then very surprised to find the elsan disposal was at the bottom of the site, furthest point away from all other facilities.
Similarly, if you are unable to walk the short distance into Hawkshead the Coop shop is in the centre of the pedestrianised area and the car park is £4 for 2 hours!
Finally the road from Ambleside is challenging for towing as in places it is extremely narrow and is on a bus route.

Lovely site; spotless toilet block, free hot showers, there was a laundry room, washing up room and TV / recreation room. Pick your own pitch. We had a flat hard standing with plenty of room.
The pitch next to us though didn't drain well and the occupants awning was flooded, they had to keep emptying the water out.
Short walk to the quaint village of Hawkshead with shops selling local produce.
Several places to eat and two pubs and a beer house. On a bus route. Lots of local walks and only 1. 5 miles to the nearest trig point!

Second time here as a family. We had a smashing time despite some wet and windy nights.
Lovely site. Good facilities, very clean and tidy.
Fantastic views and ideally situated for Hawkshead village.
Lots of nice walks to be had, Latterbarrow, Grizedale, Tarn Hows.
The children loved snuggling down for the night, listening to the owls and sheep.
Looking forward to the next visit.

A lovely quiet site, easily accessible and well serviced.
All facilities were excellent.
I reported a broken toilet seat and it was fully repaired the next day.

Super site with good sized pitches.
Toilet and shower block were immaculate. Shower push button valves don't allow much time for water flow, this is the only downside encountered during the stay.
Short walk to the village where there are a good choices of places to eat and drink

Fancy place to stay central for most of the lake district for what we wanted
Very clean and tidy site,
The shower blocks were spotless to say the least,
must be good cus I'm going back in mid may,

Very clean site, well equipped, great location for walking, cant fault the campsite.
Although a form of drying room would be a good addition to the site.
