We've stayed on this campsite in our campervan numerous times in the last couple of years as we have friends in Ludlow.
What we love about this site is that it's very laid back, there aren't lots of petty rules and you can pretty much pitch where you want.
It gets busy when the Ludlow food and music festivals are on but it never feels crowded and the vibe is very friendly.
It's quiet and peaceful with stunning views and amazing sunsets.
The owners are busy farmers but always stop to have a chat and check how you are when they can.
There are walks and mountain biking trails in Mortimer Forest accessible from the campsite.
Nearby Ludlow has lots to offer with regular markets, a castle and a river for swimming, paddle boarding etc.

Back again - we worked out that we first camped at Monstay 15 years ago! Loved what Angela and les had done with the new paths, family/accessible washroom and under-cover washing up/sitting area - and used the bench/table on the Friday evening when the weather was a bit uncertain.
We pitched in a slightly different location to our usual as the wind was forecast to be a potential issue - and using the shelter of the hillside behind worked well to counter this. As usual we were pitched on a very slight slope but not enough to be any kind of issue.
Explored the trails through the woods on Friday afternoon, and walked from the site down into Ludlow on Saturday for the Food Festival. A cab back cost us £15 which was very reasonable. Pitch price (tent, no EHU) was £20 a night.
We'll definitely be back in the future - a fabulous site, incredible views, lots to do in the area and Angela & Les are just lovely!

Love love love! Setting was beautiful, toilets and showers spotless as was the washing up facilities.
Very peaceful, with stunning views. On the lower field where tent pitches were, the families with kids seemed to be, playing cricket and riding their bikes. Very wholesome.
We took our 3 dogs who loved the walks. We hired a fire pit and 3 bags of logs which were delivered by the lovely people who worked there.
Our van broke down while we were there and the staff were so chilled about us maybe having to stay an extra day to get sorted. Very kindly helped us get it going again with a push down the hill. Beautiful weekend and would highly recommend.
No shops or pub close by so you do need to take everything you need with you unless you’re driving out.
Can’t wait to go again

What a fabulous place to stay. Outstanding views and sublime peace. This site is ideal for anyone wanting to spend their days exploring the beautiful surroundings of Mortimer Forest.
Facilities are simple but functional, but what more do you need? Due to the long dry summer, the site owners ask everyone do use water carefully, as their bore hole water supply is running low.
To help out, I would advise visitors to fill up your water tanks before arrival.
We loved it here and will definitely be back.

This site has a great location, very rural but within a short drive of Ludlow which is lovely to visit. It is basic but has all the essentials, including a freezer for ice blocks.
A nice touch is being able to easily hire a firepit and buy logs. It's a relaxed site, great for kids to spread out and explore. Lovely walks from the doorstep too.
Angela is very friendly but unfortunately wasn't available at check in time which did cause some confusion with several of us new arrivals.
The washing up area is currently being improved so that will be nice when it's done. They do have a problem with water supplies which is tricky. My girls were told they couldn't use the bathroom in the middle of the day as they had run out of water!
Hopefully they will invest a bit to get this sorted then I will give top marks as it's a lovely site.

A fabulous find, had everything we needed as a big group of 6 pitches mix of tents and caravans
Lovely field for the kids to play on had great games of cricket and rode their bikes. Great swings on the big tree, hours of fun.
Being able to have a campfire is a big bonus and lovely to sit out under a very dark sky.
Showers and toilets clean and hot.
Short drive into Ludlow. Great weekend thanks for having us all.

We were visiting Ludlow for a concert at the castle and found this site.
On arrival we were given a friendly welcome and invited to choose where we would like to pitch up.
The setting and the views are amazing and the facilities clean.
The price per night was extremely good value and the only disappointment we had was the fact we weren’t able to stay longer, but having found this site we will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay at Monstay Farm campsite, selection of pitches on offer when we arrived, lovely and peaceful.
We were self-sufficient using the electric hook-up so cant comment too much on facilities, but toilets were clean when we stopped off to use.
We chose this site as it was close to Mortimer Forest and meant we could easily attend the Saturday morning parkrun there.
Ludlow was a short taxi ride in (although we could have easily drove in) and we enjoyed our time looking around the beautiful town.
We would definitely love to come back and explore the forest a little more next time.

Absolutely beautiful campsite
Quiet campsite, surrounded by trees & wildlife.
The odd neigh from the horses & a few baa’s from the lambs, just perfect.

The perfect blend of quiet farm camping with stunning clean and modern facilities.
Really has that "away from it all" feeling, so relaxing.

Such a great setting on the side of the hill and with adjoining footpaths as well as the Mortimer Forest.
Plenty of flat pitches when I visited and freedom to choose where to pitch. Friendly owners and good rates.
Free showers (though some would prefer them to be hotter) and good toilet and washroom facilities.
