Lovely site well kept. Basic but clean facilities.

Decided to have a walk to see the river and waterfalls.

Very close to ruined castle.

Easily accessed from the A66 road.

Will definitely consider staying here again, and will recommend this site to others.

Stopped here overnight on way from Scotland. Easy to find site, and access is ok if a little snug.

Very spacious site close to Bowes castle on lovely grass.

Didn't hear much road noise.

Facilities aren't huge but appropriate for a cl type site, couple of toilets and a shower etc.

The nice little Honesty caravan can get you out of a fix, and the owners are lovely people, other longer stayers spoke very highly of them too.

Had a bite to eat at the Ancient Unicorn, good pub grub and nice beer.

We were the only people on the site so it was a quiet night without being disturbed.

The facilities were very clean but relatively basic.

No doubt this would be a welcome stop-off on the Pennine Way for hikers.

Seemed to be a nice playground for kids and I'm sure the chickens would be an entertaining feature for wee ones!

Be aware, only two toilet cubicles and one shower and one sink for washing. One sink for washing up too so I can imagine with a few more pitches occupied it could be a challenge.

There was a fair amount of road noise from the A66 which is busy all night but it was constant enough to not notice after a while.

Lovely campsite in a super convenient location. Everything was clean and owners were super lovely and helpful.

We found the pitches to be spacious and not too close to other campers which was lovely for extra privacy.

Only downside was the noise from the road was quite loud although this didn’t bother us too much I know some people would be more annoyed.

Second time we have stayed at this site, and we loved it just as much as the first!

It's small, quiet and the facilities are well looked after.

The kids spent ages in the play area, and we enjoyed visiting the nearby castle ruins.

You can also hire fire pits, which was lovely to sit around on an evening as the sun went down.

Two night stay with our tent box - great location, plenty of space between pitches with a large area in the middle for kids to play.

Nice little play area, option of hiring fire pits, and a honesty shop with supplies, sweets and books/dvds to borrow.

The facilities are basic but clean and have everything you need. And the owner was friendly and quick to fix any issues. Outstanding views, some beautiful walks from site (with very handy maps drawn by the owners), and some chickens who like to say hello (or steal your dinner if your not looking haha).

Only place to walk to for a meal was the village pub, rather disappointing unfortunately with unfriendly barmaid who seemed to think she was doing us a favour by serving us and made us feel like we had interrupted her day.

But the actual village is delightful, a castle, beautiful church, and interesting connections to Charles Dickens

Brilliant stay scenic views plenty to do. Shops nearby.

Very clean the honesty caravan was brilliant.

Play park for the kids.

Also a nice short walk to the river where you can wild swim.

Booked up again for the next weekend as soon as our stay was over.

Great value for money.

Lovely small clean rural site right on side of pennine way.

Nice warm showers. Good washing facilities.

Flat camping field and well kept play area.

Really appreciated the owners sheltering our gear in the barn when the Sundome blew away whist we were out. 10/10 for hospitality.

Thanks
