Lovely spot overlooking the meadows and Bowes castle.
Toilets and shower cleaned regularly and adequate for our needs. Very friendly owners.
Loved the caravan with honesty box. The fresh eggs were great.
Excellent value for money. Will stay again.

Loved the site. Really well maintained and a lovely honesty hut which is a nice touch.
Facilities are limited to a shower and two toilets which are currently one pitch at a time but they were cleaned constantly so not concerns with this.
Surrounding area had great walks.
We loved it and will definitely be back

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Amazing views of the the rolling hills, a castle on the hill just a field away, hens, bunnies, just lovely.
The facilities are great, and the shop in a caravan with an honesty box was excellent, as they stocked the fresh hen eggs from their chickens. Owners were really friendly and helpful.
Will definitely visit again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Not sure why this site gets such good reviews. No Covid measures here, not even hand gel! Don’t know how they get away with non compliance?
Inadequate toilet facilities for a 15 pitch site, one shared shower, one basin, 2 toilets all shared. Very uneven site.
Friendly owners, easy access, good for walking

Beautiful site facilities kept lovely and clean. Lots of space for children to play/ along with seeing pigs chickens and sheep. Views are amazing.
Little shop on site with fresh eggs and a few essentials. And the owners are really helpful definitely worth going to and we will be returning.

Nice grassy field for tents only with a lovely shower which was a lot bigger than most so you don't have to be a contortionist and it was free.
We didn't have children but the ones that were there seemed to enjoy the open space even though it was raining.
There is a pub in the village but we didn't go there due to it being full for bookings and we had tried booking early in the day but this was probably due to the government mon to wed cheap deal.

Lovely small campsite. Friendly, helpful owners. Easy to access location. Great views of surrounding countryside. Nice walks in Greta Valley accessed direct from site. 5 minute walk to lovely old pub the Ancient Unicorn in village, with good beer on hand pump and nice outdoor seating area. 5 minute walk to the atmospheric castle ruins from the site.
Site has two loos and a shower all immaculately clean. Covered wash up area with hot water and a recycling bin. Honesty shop in retro caravan with fresh free range eggs and essentials you may have forgotten. Fire pits for hire and firewood for sale.
Chickens roaming free which the kids loved, be warned the chickens are very persistent if you feed them! Pigs and goats too, thankfully not roaming free!
Only downside is the traffic noise as the A66 passes very close by but it certainly didn't spoil our stay or disturb our sleep.
Highly recommended and hope to visit again.

Cosy but great site, facilities were cleaned regularly throughout the day. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous river not too far.
We had some extremely windy weather that woke us up, obviously nothing the site can do about the weather however parts are very open to the climate!
Could hear the traffic of the motorway constantly where we were pitched up but I can imagine further around the pitch is quieter.

Farm fresh eggs for breakfast! Delicious! Friendly owner and the little caravan with the honesty box is a nice touch. Walking distance from the local pub and social club as well as the castle ruins.
This is a small site with a small number of facilities, but kept very clean and the site was very quiet during my stay.
It is literally just off the A66 through Bowes so there is white noise from the road but it didn't affect my sleep. A very restful place to stay,
I liked it here and would stay here again if I was in the area.

The views are spectacular and the waterfalls within 10minutes walk rival any. Loads of walks direct from the site. There is a pub in the village which offers evening meals and good coffee and cake too throughout the day. This may change during the winter. We didn't use the social club because it had a no dogs policy. The site is a handy stop off on the way to Scotland,
The shower was fabulous, a normal electric shower, clean and hot with good pressure and it didn’t have a horrible push button that even club sites have. The loos were kept clean too.
Chemical waste and grey waste points too.
We loved the free roaming chickens and were tempted to feed them but didn't as we forgot to ask. Permission!
The hosts are so lovely. We had an issue with our van and they couldn’t have been more helpful. We will definitely stay again.
