From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Ray and his Son our stay at Mill Farm could not have been more enjoyable.

We were walked round the site and shown the available pitches and given the choice of which pitch we would like and also given the choice of what power of electric we required.

The location of the site is first class and within easy reach of all Suffolks favourite tourist attractions and towns with the added benefit of a great pub within a minute of the site.

We noticed on the reviews that some people criticised the amenities, but in all honesty the toilets and showers are more than adequate and we would much prefer a spacious, quiet, picturesque, friendly site as opposed to water pressure every time,

And we are looking forward to returning to Mill Farm with our little dog to see Ray again as soon as we get chance.

Very gd if you like fishing the price is very good (£14 for a week).

The space you got very big. But the pub gone over price now. Very gd for the kids.

Showers can do some mod but very hot water. Hope to go back very soon

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite and we have stayed on lots of different sites with varying facilities. Very friendly owner who walked around the site with us on our arrival to choose where we wanted to pitch our tent with electric hookup.

We had a very spacious pitch in a field overlooking woodland and a fishing pond which was very tranquil and beautiful. The best thing about this site is the space and quiet and that you are not squashed up with lots of other campers.

The shower and toilet facilities are basic but clean with individual cubicles so again you have privacy and not sharing with others. We never had to queue for the shower which is a first as the owner limits the numbers at the site.

There was also access to a fridge and freezer which was great for us in a tent. We went on some lovely walks with our dog who was made so welcome.

The site is in a beautiful location close to Saxmundham village and there is a lovely pub right next to the site where we went in the evenings with great food and friendly staff.

I note criticism from other reviews about areas of the site being unkempt however this is a very big site and the pitching areas are extremely well maintained and the facilities are clean, which is all that matters. We didn’t take children but I would imagine they would love exploring this site.

We would like to thank Ray and his son for a lovely stay, they are so helpful and kind and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely return again next summer.

A very large site with lots of different fields - good dog walking areas and areas left for wildlife. A good pond for fishing but not child friendly as pond not roped off and no lighting around any of the fields.

Facilities were basic toilets, showers and washing up area. These were Very old fashioned and in need of a lot of tlc. These were not cleaned the whole 4 days we were there.

Bin area was very unorganised and rubbish everywhere. Chemical waste was a hole covered by a dustbin lid.

No further entertainment facilities - no laundry, or bar or games room. Whole site needs a good tidy up.

Lighting needs to be in place for those needing the toilet facilities at night especially as you need to walk past the pond and over a little bridge/ archway.

Location is great for all near attractions and exploring of the area. Footpaths galore for walking and cycling. Pub opposite entrance to site is very welcoming and serves nice food.

The main field where we stayed was peaceful and we would be happy to go back again as we used our own facilities in the caravan. This site has so much potential.

Website / adverts for this campsite need to be updated to take off the fact that there’s no extra entertainment facilities except showers, toilets and washing up.

Management response: Our average rating is 9/10, therefore this 5/10 review is based on a mistaken booking from these people - expecting a ‘Butlins type holiday park with nightly entertainment’?

We are not a commercial corporate site with airport type toilet blocks & cubicles - we have separate showers & toilets units. We do not have a laundry or slot machines, or Bar (however, there’s a village pub next door!).

I do agree our Rubbish area is looking rubbish and could do with a tidy up (maybe some flowers & scented candles)?

Our lake is great fishing in a natural environment, it is ‘not roped off’ as per their requirements, as we don’t have young children camp in this area.

Ray allowed us to choose our pitch in the nice sheltered main camping area.

Toilets and showers basic but adequate.

The surrounding area is great for our ebikes and we cycled to Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Sizewell along very quiet pleasant country lanes.

We shall definitely be back as it suits all our requirements.

Absolutely beautiful here, no set pitches we walked round and chose our spot, near the little lake with evening sun, perfect.

We had a problem with our fridge on the hottest weekend so far, Ray did his best to help but we couldn’t fix it. He Swapped our battery out and charged it for us. So helpful. Ray gave us some frozen milk from his freezer to ensure we had breakfast, Tea/coffee.

As previously stated facilities a little dated but very clean. Can’t wait to go back.

Thank you Ray without your help we would have had to go home early.

You can't beat mill hill farm for a getaway. It is a very well maintained site with professional welcoming staff who are very highly knowledgeable on the corona affect.

Lovely sized pitches with electric and nearby water. Nice little shop accommodating for all basic groceries and more. Immaculate warm clean facilities.

Located in a nice area with plenty of places to visit nearby. Beach, pubs. The site hosts 2 lovely fishing lakes which is a bonus for the hubbie.

Would highly recommend this site.

Had a long weekend at this site. Plenty of room. We were the only ones on that particular field.

Would like to thank Ray for looking after our every request. We had the sole use of the fishing lake and was not disappointed.

Would like to come back next summer to see the camping fields and lake in full use.

It does need upgrading and refining.

Loved this site. It was so peaceful, and Ray was so helpful with recommendations for visiting the area. Site is well situated for lots of beautiful villages and beaches. Booked for 4 nights but stayed 7, didn't want to leave.

Poachers Pocket right outside gates with lovely food.

Helped ourselves to plums, apples and pears and sloes from Ray's orchard(with permission). Added bonus of fire pit and wood supplied, perfect for dark sky gazing.

Can't wait to return next year.

Enjoyed this well-spaced site very much. Saw a barn owl at dusk but not many other campers even though the site was full.

There's a lovely path to walk the dog and the pub by the entrance served really good food.

The loos and showers were all fully functional but do need modernising.

Best of all is the friendly, helpful, cheerful host who looks after this great site.

We camped with a group of friends & were given a whole field to ourselves. The owner was really friendly & helpful. Even helping a friend fix her car!

There are several showers & toilets & Ray even set aside an extra caravan we could use which was nearby our field. We had a lovely campfire which the site provided & you can buy wood from them. The site is very spacious.

We had enough room to play rounders without disturbing anyone else.

The site was clean & quiet & we'll definitely visit again in the future.

We loved Mill Farm. It had a wonderful feeling of old-world charm, reminiscent of the kind of camp sites we enjoyed as children 50 years ago.

We had an enclosed field all to ourselves, with fruit trees and blackberries all around and ample space for playing with the dogs. Wonderful cosy evenings round the fire pits, with logs delivered by the most engaging and hilarious host, Ray.

Fantastic local pub on the doorstep served great food at very good prices. Nothing was too much trouble for Ray -

We will definitely go back.

Couldn't have wanted for a better start to our trip

We will be back

Thanks.
