 Have been returning to this friendly family run site for 5yrs. With ample pitch sizes the owner Ray does not pack you in like sardines with no space to spare.
The site is very peaceful and relaxing. The ideal stay for exploring Suffolk and beyond, with local shops very close and a great friendly pub on the doorstep.
The Site has a fishing lake, swimming pool and acres of land for the kids to play, explore and have fun.
A great place for walking dogs, campfires are available at a small fee, has a small tuck shop for the kiddies.
Love this site, excellent value for money, will keep returning.

We wanted a relaxed site that allowed campfires, barbeques, pets, wasn’t regimented in the layout and most importantly was fun to stay at. Well, we found it with Mill Farm and Ray, We have just returned from our 5th holiday there and are already planning next years.
There’s usually a group of 4 caravans or more of us and Ray the owner kindly cuts a circle in one of his several fields for us all. The site is about 26 acres but quite often our group has got a field all to ourselves and everyone is spread out.
LOCATION
The location just off the A12 is ideal for exploring Suffolk/Norfolk as you have got Southwold/ Walberswick/ Thorpeness/ Aldeburgh/ Framlingham Castle and lots more all within a 20 minute drive.
Because of the location and hardly any light pollution we often just lay back around a campfire and watch loads of shooting stars and satellites including the International Space Station.
There is a Tesco’s and a Waitrose store opposite each other in Saxmundham Town approx. 5 minutes’ drive away.
FACILITIES
There is an enclosed swimming pool which for a small charge you can hire for your own private use.
The toilets and showers are basic but clean and presentable.
There are washing up facilities for campers.
Inside the play barn are freezers for you to be able to freeze your ice blocks in or store some frozen food if you wish.
The campfires are upcycled washing machine drums on stands and Ray pops round every night selling a big dustbin full of firewood and kindling if you need it.
The lake has got a mixture of fish in it and have caught some nice roach, carp.
PLAY BARN
It’s great to see “honesty boxes” still in use in this part of the country as Ray has one in the play barn for the sweets and ice creams.
There’s a Pool table, Table Tennis, Piano, Settees and loads of space for the kids.
Finally, the owner, Ray, what can we say? Nothing is too much trouble for him, friendly, always laughing and happy to keep the kids occupied.

If you want a camp site with space, this is the place to go. No regimented line up of caravans, we visited with a group of four caravans and formed a wagon circle around the campfire point.
It is a back to basics site (with electric hook up) and that is what we loved. The kids got up in the morning and that was the last we saw of them until they wanted food, drink etc. Making new friends and enjoying the freedom to just play (they even left their IPads in the caravan)
As for Ray the site owner, what a great guy, he and his son pop around most nights and take the kids for a ride on the back of the trailer after delivering the firewood.
Location is great with many places to visit during the day, normally a 30 minute or so drive away. Saxmundom is only a five minute drive away with a large Tesco’s or Waitrose to stock up on previsions.

I've been going to mill farm for many years now, it's a fantastic place with loads to do and a very relaxed atmosphere, your own fire pit and wood on tap which is brought round by the owner himself every night, fantastic value for money.
Best site so far for many years of trying many other places, we always end up going back each year!

We have visited several times now and never been disappointed. The pitches are huge, some overlooking the well stocked fishing lake.
The site is child and dog friendly and the facilities are clean. BBQs and fires are allowed.
The local pub is friendly and the site is an excellent base for visiting the Suffolk coast.

Friendly, clean and fun. Been going for years and really enjoy it. Ray is kind and friendly which makes the holiday better.
We have our own circle in a field and it's so relaxing.
We go as a group and meet new people every year which we stay in touch with.

We have just returned from our 2nd visit to mill farm. We love it. Clean, full amenities, we can bbq and have camp fires, with swimming and fishing all on site.
Not your average site but that's why we love it. Superbly located to explore the Suffolk coast.
Top site for basic camping.

I don't know quite where to begin, on arrival we nearly turned around as initially all you see is a very untidy bin area and dilapidated sheds. The whole site is littered with abandoned caravans, old washing machines and generally things that need tidying away.
That said the owner was very friendly and the facilities were basic but clean, however after thunderstorm the elsan point did smell. Although I think this site is over priced (a lot of add on items) we were on large field over looking pond (not lake) and we had a very relaxing time, not sure I would return.

Well what a complete let down! Now I know that we visited in December for Xmas and the New Year but this site does advertise that it open all year round. Firstly we were a bit surprised that there were just 2 main hook ups. One which the owner ran a total of five leads to reach our caravan. Each point has just 2 hook ups making a total of 4 ? Therefore if he has more than 4 caravans in, don’t expect any electric!
The pub landlord (poachers pocket) just located at the entrance of the park, commented that on many occasions he had been told by previous people when promised a hook up, that the owner had told them he had been let down by the electric company to install further hook ups. This excuse has been used for many years!
The facilities are awful, showers revolting, loos that do not flush (a bucket is placed on the floor for you to fill with water from the outside tap as no water running to the taps inside the loo ) Other loos are out of order too! No lights in the only available non fully working loo) In fact NO lights anywhere, so it’s dark along the walk through!
As I can appreciate it’s winter and yes the country parks can look gloomy, the whole site is a junk yard! Old caravans dumped ( some tucked away in trees) Old trampolines dumped and old cars littered around the park.
We have been caravaners for many years and been away over the Xmas/New Year period many times. I did have to grin to myself when the owner said to me that the site looks amazing in the summer ?? Personally unless there is a major face lift on his facilities and removes all the old caravans cars and other junk items I fail to see it!

The first thing that greets you are the VERY friendly staff at this family run site. You are escorted to your ENORMOUS pitch and again, the staff ensure you are happy, whilst pointing out the facilities, etc.
The fishing lake is FANTASTIC (according to the other half) and the field put aside for the 'Dog Run' is enormous yet safe!
All in all, we were delighted with our stay here. However, as a storm with 60+MPH winds was coming in we left a day early. Imagine my surprise when for the first time in more than thirty years of owning a motorhome we received a message to say that a one night stay had been credited to us.
Amazing, we shall be returning to the beautiful, peaceful, well run campsite many times in the future

Wow! I am so glad I found this beautiful, scenic campsite and what a wonderful host!
The site is spacious, full of nature and adventures. There are wonderful lakes and fell in love with the moo hens (moon hens) and storks (or whatever they are called!) it it just so quaint and peaceful! You are given the choice of pitch upon arrival after an in depth tour of the site and whether you require hook up or not there is a pitch to suit all requirements. Once you have decided where you want to set up home you won't have to worry about neighbours are they are so far away you won't even need to worry about them if you don't want to.
There is ample hot water so can shower whenever you want no need to wake up at crack of dawn to get the perfect shower. A perfect pop up pool to splash about in at the end of a hot day or a laze in the lazy spa pool with a glass of what you fancy! There is a perfect walk cut out around the site to stretch your legs or to walk the pooch but even that feels like a little adventure! Washing up? Yeah there is something for that but I'm not very good at it so didn't do too much so can't comment!.
There is a pub a stones throw away and two supermarkets about a mile away near by to these are your usual take away places but can't comment cos I love a BBQ!
Ray who owns this breath of fresh air offers excellent hospitality and has essentials for sale in case you forgot something such as matches, firefighters, wood etc and sweets and ice creams for the kids! There are communal fridge and freezer which is perfect if you are going without electric and are included in your pitch price.
I think he offers value for money and will give you a perfect experience you can tell this is his heart and soul so any help just ask him!
You can have a fire pit and are allowed BBQs which I believe is an added bonus and site rules well there aren't many to abide to which is what I love about the place as at the end of the day I'm on holiday not on military camp! Lol
I recommend to all those that love nature and the outdoors!

Just back from another great weekend at Mill Farm. We find this site perfect for us as it's quiet, there's loads of space and hubby can fish to his heart's content and is never disappointed with his haul. We love waking up to the views over the lake and the fact that it is a central base to explore all the Suffolk coast has to offer. We have visited Aldeburgh, Southwold, Minsmere, Woodbridge and Walberswick so far but still have loads left on our list for future adventures.
Ray was a great host as usual and even ordered fantastic weather for us! We'll be back.

This was a last minute booking for 2 nights and the first time with our new caravan (me, youngest son (12) & dog).
The site is very rural and the pitches are so well spaced that you feel that you could be the only ones there.
We didn't use the facilities, as we have our own, but others we spoke to were more than happy.
The Poachers Pocket PH is just outside the gate and Saxmundham town, which has everything (local shops, Tesco & Waitrose), is 1-2 miles away with good parking (we walked).
Our pitch was the last one with electric hook up and was rather steeply sloping, which was a bit of challenge, but we managed. The plus side was that it was close to the amenities, quiet and south facing.
We didn't try the fishing, but will bring our rods next time.
We hope to return soon for another relaxing break.

This campsite has a spacious feel to it. It has a variety of fields. It has a honesty box to purchase sweets, crisps etc and they are a reasonable price. The campsite is nice. The facilities are very basic and it feels a bit makeshift. There is a games room which is for the kids and is good for teenagers to hang out in. It only has a pool table in, it could do with a football table or table tennis or something else to cater for a number of kids to prevent domination by a small number. The inflatable pool is adequate and even though it is not big enough to swim, it is only rented out to one set of people/family at a time. If you are not too bothered by having updated facilities, then this is a great site. We would visit again as the fields/scenery just about outweigh the poor facilities. If the facilities were updated and clean this would be very close to a 10 star site.

Nice quiet site pitches large spaced out toilets showers clean friendly owner fishing lake on site. Would visit again nice dog walking area close to dunwich framlingham castle there was only one water tap for water which was quite a way from pitches
