The campsite was well kept. There was sanitiser at the door of the toilet/shower facilities to be used before and after using the building.
The toilets could possibly have been cleaned a bit more but with the sanitiser to hand and being on a working farm it was understandable.
The site looked to be operating at half capacity to give each visitor more space which was really good to see.
A really nice quiet site. Lovely friendly couple who welcomed us to the site as we arrived later in the day and were happy to answer questions about the area.
Lovely relaxing 3 days away in the current situation.

We stayed here the first week after England was freed from the restraints of lockdown. It's a very well maintained site with views over Whitby and surrounding countryside. Fortunately there was a hedge giving us shelter from 40mph Westerly winds for the first couple of nights!
There is only one shower and toilet for each sex but this was never an issue. Spotless facilities. Owners very helpful and friendly, even lent me an OS map for the week. Level site, frequently cut grass and a great place to stay.
The site is directly opposite a working dairy farm. You will hear the milk pump in the morning (and afternoon), you will hear farmyard machinery and you will experience countryside aromas. All adds to the Abbey View experience.
There is Sainsbury's in Whitby within 3 miles. Try Bothams nearby for pies and cakes. The B&M is useful for those forgetful campers without duvet and pillows.
Whitby is a lovely town. Fish n' Chips on the pier watching the sunset is a must. Robin Hood's bay is a 30 minute walk away, although a steep climb back. The Cinder track cycleway from Scarborough to Whitby is worth a pedal, but I think you'll see more from the coastal path. Staithes is worth a trip too and the moor is close by.
Good spot.

Site is a beautiful farm site well tended and with friendly owner,
Only drawback for us is it’s quite remote and on top of a very steep hill.
Once sited we don’t like moving the van so we could walk into Robin Hoods Bay but had to use taxis to get back to the site

Great site with beautiful views. Walked to both Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby.
Excellent communication from host, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely stay again.
Have put 10 for child friendliness as you couldn't leave it blank.
We don't have children but the children on the farm were friendly and there were several families staying.

We liked everything about the site. It was well kept. The owners were friendly and helpful. The views across Whitby and its Abbey are great.
The toilets and shower facilities are spotlessly clean.
If you like a small, friendly and attractive campsite within walking distance of a pub (some steep up and downhills), then this is for you.
We scored this site at least 9/10

A lovely little campsite with great views over Whitby. The pitches are nice and spacious and the toilets and showers are modern and clean.
There's plenty of space for children to run around and a separate field for dogs. The owners were helpful and informative and there's plenty nearby to enjoy.
A great little campsite, we would visit again.

Absolutely amazing site. It was our first camping trip and we couldn't of asked for better.
Even the beauty of the site it made putting a 6 man tent up and then down in torrential rain less stressful as we had all this nature surrounding us.
We will definitely be back. Facilities lovely and clean. Stunning views over Whitby. Quiet and rural but not far to visit Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.
Alex was very good when we arrived, asked what our plans were and if we needed any help, gave us a map for walking, bus stops, etc. Loved the Llamas and goat for neighbours.
Thank you very much. Even the pooch had his own secure yard to run around in.

Wonderful site excellent hosts who nothing was too much trouble who have extensive knowledge of the Whitby area and even provide campers with a map to walk to Robin Hoods bay, lots of information leaflets available too.
Would recommend this site to any camper tent caravan or motorhomer.
Excellent shower and toilet, excellent facility to wash up. Will definitely return to this site again.
Although not right in town center this site is far enough away for peace and quiet and a good nights sleep, the only other neighbours are the three resident alpacas and a goat in the next door field who I didn't realise were there till the next day

Really lovely site, only saw the owners when we arrived and when we left, stayed for 3 nights, thought £18 a night was a little steep for what you got.
To say it was a five van site, when we usually go on five van sites the most we have paid is £14 max for exactly the same facilities.

Just had a delightful stay at this site spoilt only by the English weather.
Good clean facilities, easy access with delightful views and wonderful hosts. A short ride to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, (Goathland (Heartbeat country) and an ideal base for touring the North Yorkshire Moors.

Just spent 4 nights on this site. Had a warm welcome from the owners for which nothing was too much trouble. Good views across Whitby and surrounding countryside.
Within walking distance of Robin Hoods Bay but a steep climb up hill back to the site.
The facilities were adequate and clean but may be stretched in peak periods.

The site is located on a hillside 1/2 mile off the main road, so we did not notice any noise from the road. As it says it has views looking out towards Whitby 3 miles away and is also 2 miles from the popular Robin Hood Bay.
The site is one largish field which is relatively flat given it's location. The facilities were always clean but limited in number. Which stretches resources especially at busy times.
The 'dog walk' is a small patch of grass within the site. Otherwise a proper walk involves going down lanes to find a footpath. The local pub is a mile down the road, half of which is via the main road should you wish to walk there.
Overall a good site to position yourself for the local area if you want a smaller sized location but best avoiding a Bank Holiday.
