Overall this was a nice site although I do have some gripes.

Unfortunately when we booked there was no electric pitches so we decided to go non-electric. There is a specific field for non-electric which seemed fine at the time. We were advised that this field is not marked out in specific pitches but they only allow a certain number of units on to ensure safety rules are maintained. We were showed to our part of the field which was fine, until another unit turned up with a group of units that were already camped, they were not shown to a spot but plonked themselves directly next to us leaving us no space to put up our gazebo (which we paid extra to have) we asked the site workers to have a word but they backed down immediately after being told by this very rude man that he was not moving despite being only 3m away from our tents (the rules apparently are 5m). In my view its pretty stupid having rules if you are going to let people break them so easily.

We were left having to put up the gazebo in the middle of our two entrances (we were facing each other) and as we were so close to the road we had no open area to sit out in. The group next to us however had enough room to get 2 very large events tents up in the middle of their circle of tents. We felt very disgruntled by this as we had paid the same amount for our pitch and got considerably less room!

The showers and toilets were always clean and tidy and showers were hot. The family room however is far too small and the water practically stops if there are people in the normal showers. There was more room in the normal showers for me to shower myself and my too kids than there was in the family room and this way we were guaranteed a hot shower that didn't loose power!

The play ground was great and the children loved it. The walks were very nice too.

The hog roast was a nice touch and was very tasty.

All in all we would go back to Deers Glade as I said overall its very nice but we would never book non-electric again.

This was our second visit to this site and as the time before it was very clean. Toilets spotless and with under floor heating. Low level lights in the showers make shaving interesting.

The kids loved the play area and goat pen.

There is no clubhouse on site so it is a quiet place. Pitches are a good size although on the open fields there is always someone who pitches right next to you.

There is a walk through the woods with a small pond for kids to do a spot of pond dipping.

The lake used to be great for fishing but this time I only saw 3 fish caught in 10 day, and none by me(Otters were blamed).

The hog roast is ok, had better, but is a great chance to socialise with the people who hang around after(not that many).

While we were there they also had an evening of selling and setting of Chinese lanterns which the kids enjoyed.

A short walk down the road is a field with deer in, although it is a bit hit and miss if you can see them.

Wifi on the site sucks and phone reception is patchy.

All in all it is a nice peaceful relaxing site.

Lovely site, neither I or the kids wanted to leave.

Toilet blocks were always clean although I felt there were too few showers, I had to wait both mornings that I tried to shower before breakfast.

The pitches were sensibly spaced we have an Outwell Montana 6 with front extension and there was still space around the tent. We chose to park to car in the car park as we prefer not to have the car next to us. The EHU was fine.

One small point is I felt the shop opening hours were not quite early enough or late enough and on the first night the hot water tripped in one of the shower blocks and it was not reset until the following morning.

That all said this is a fab site which I recommend without hesitation.

Just spent 3 nights at Deers Glade, being first timers we didn't know what to expect.

We had a large pitch for our 5 man tent and space for our car next to it. We had EHU and they can supply a TV ariel cable (refundable deposit) so you can watch TV at night will no issues.

Plenty of hot water, and a washing up area, showers (mens) got quite busy but it was saturday morning and site was looking quite full. During the week it was fine. Clean and tidy.

Fishing available at a small charge, but the lake needs clearing of weeds on one side, nice wooden flat platforms to fish from.

Loads of dogs walks in the woods and also they do provide kennels (5 mins walk) if you want a day out at a small charge.

Cromer around 20mins drive away and there is a Tesco's in Alysham which is around 5 - 8 mins drive. There is also chip shop also within 5 mins drive.

Staff very very friendly and answered all questions we threw at them. Site was clean and well looked after.

Despite some heavy rain the pitches drained quite well.

Yes, we would go back again.

0n arrival we checked in at reception and dealt with by a friendly lady [Heather], who also showed us to our pitch and explained the site layout. Pitch good size and no set rules as to how to pitch, as long as you stayed within boundary [nice hedges to three sides for privacy].

Toilets and showers are as yet the best we have experienced, very powerful and controllable showers and always very clean. The view from our pitch[44] was nice overlooking the lake, which was very popular for the fishermen, so not suitable to let our water loving choc lab in for a swim.

The grounds are very well maintained with grass and hedge trimming obviously kept on top of, also ground drains well which due to the heavy downpours was very handy.

Not much directly around site besides nice woodland walks but only 15mins drive into Cromer where nice little shops and places to eat, and a must buy are Cromer crabs. Would definitely recommend this site for those looking for relaxing quiet break.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Dears Glade, this site is Fantastic and has now gone to our number one favourite site!

The site is very clean and tidy, the staff are really friendly and pretty relaxed, always around when you need them.

All pitches are level, there are loads of hard standing and also lots of grass. Tents and caravans can all mix in so if you go with another family who have a tent (as we did) there is a chance you can pitch next to each other provided you book early enough.

The kids play area is fine, there is a slide / climbing / tree house affair, a sand pit and a giant circular swing that you can get about 5 kids in. There is also a large area to play football etc. Next to this is a shaded picnic area if required.

The shop is reasonably basic but covers the essentials, very nice burgers! The shower blocks are absolutely brilliant, really modern and new looking. There are two blocks on this site, each have 2 showers for men and 2 for women, not as many as some sites but I never had to wait even though the site was at full capacity (admittedly, I choose to shower in the evenings but my wife had no bother in the mornings either). The showers were powerful with a proper temp control and none of this push button or token nonsense.

This site also has some lovely camping pods for hire, 5 I recall. All have their own private area with a brick BBQ and a chiminea (logs are sold on site for these) and are set on the edge of the site in woodland.

Dog owners a well catered for as there are 3 really good walks, no idea how long they are but the shorter one was enough for our friends Cocker Spaniel. It went through the woods along a river and out onto a quiet road and back in the site main entrance.

TV reception on the vans aerial wasn't great but you can hire a lead on site giving you decent freeview reception. The site also has wifi available if required. Mobile phone reception was fine, also has 3G in most areas if your on Orange or T-Mobile, not on Vodafone apparently?

There is a lovely lake that you can pitch next to, fishing was very popular with fellow visitors during our stay. I think bait was also available from the site shop but I recall you needed a permit to fish. Also, the lake is a fair distance from the play area, very sensible in my opinion.

Out and about, we didn't really venture far but we did visit Sheringham, a very nice town on the sea front, hard to park until you find the long stay car park which is in a residential area. A stoney beach much to the kids disgust! As we took food with us I can't comment on supermarkets but there is a very good fish and chip shop about 10 mins drive from the site, highly recommended.

The only very slight negative for us was that there appeared to be a lot of flies, don't know if this is because of the lake or not (we were not near it) but they were very apparent. This didn't spoil our stay, it just meant keeping the fly screens closed.

Overall, an excellent site and very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely site – well laid out with a lot of gravel paths and very peaceful. There are two heated toilet blocks which are always being cleaned (and never closed for cleaning). In the ladies there are 4 toilets, 2 showers, 2 washbasins and 2 private basins plus a free hairdryer (a proper one).

The showers were very good – large shower heads and plenty of hot water – NO pushbutton. Don’t know what it would be like in the high season with only 2 showers in each block. There is a laundry room and 4 washing up sinks – under cover – in each block.

There is a small children’s playground and an enclosure with about 5 goats and a sheep. A nice touch is a seating area with two huge sails for sunshades. The site is fairly level but when it rains some of the pitches near the lake become very water-logged. We saw one couple having to bail water out of their caravan awning.

The site does seem to be weighted in favour of caravans but there were still plenty of tents there – especially at the weekend. Wifi is available but can be a hit and miss affair.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the whole site has a “comfortable” feel to it. I really loved Deer’s Glade and would like to return sometime.

Just returned from our second visit to deers glade and we have booked again for next year. We just love this place it has everything we love in a camp site. I can never understand how a site with over 100 pitches can be so quiet and peaceful.

The site is sheltered and the owners are friendly and are always there to help and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Although we had been before and knew where our pitch was the owner insisted he went with us to ensure we were happy. The toilets are spotless as are the washing up sinks.

Its the little things that sometimes other sites don't think off that make the difference for me like not closing the toilets for cleaning at the same time you have to vacant your pitch, these toilets are never closed, sites who say they are dog friendly when they are not, at Deers glade they have rings where you can tie your dog up outside the shop, toilets and washing up sinks, and there are lots of poo bins.

We brought some logs for the fire pit which we did not use due to the weather the owner just gave us a refund without blinking an eye, something you may not encounter on other sites. The fact that we have booked again is recommendation enough, we love it here.

Just got back from a week's stay at Deer's Glade. Everything you read in the reviews here are true - facilities are excellent. The luxury of having a shower and not having to keep pressing the button was great, and also the shower block was heated.

There was a free hair dryer that actually worked. It was the first time I have been camping and had a shower leaving the building warm and dry. The water was piping hot all the time and the toilets do not close to be cleaned - those guys just crack on and clean around you.

There are two washing machines and one tumble dryer, coin operated - all work perfectly. Two hand washing sinks also.

The site was quiet and well sheltered. My 13 year old had great fun with his friends exploring the woods and found the field full of deer and the 'secret pond'. There are deer roaming in the forest and we were lucky enough to see them.

Dogs are welcome and the staff are helpful.

Near to Cromer (Morrisons)and the beaches of West Runton, Overstrand and Holkham are within a 40 minute drive. Wells next the Sea is nice for shopping.

My husband and son both fished the lake and spent most evenings fishing there which was only a stone's throw from our tent.

We have already booked for May 2013 - what a great campsite.

We stayed for a fortnight at the end of June, in all the wind and rain the Great British Summer could throw at us. I have to say, I was very impressed at how well the site coped with the inclement weather - the pitches drained very well, and the facilities remained spotlessly clean throughout.

The site is pretty close to Cromer, and in easy reach of Norwich, The Broads and the North Norfolk coast. There's a pub reasonably close - I believe they run a minibus to and from it in high season. We didn't try it, but the brochure looked really nice.

The loo/shower block on site is modern, and the very posh 'proper' showers were divine! I wondered why there was a notice asking campers to be considerate and not spend ages in the shower - until I tried one out. The pitches are a good size, and are separated by hedges. We always use rock pegs, but could have got away with pin pegs if we'd needed.

My only real criticism of the site would be that at the weekend there were children playing football and catch around the pitches, despite there being a really nice play area for them (with a big-top style covered picnic area) right in the middle of the site. I realise that it was the fault of the parents (especially the ones actually playing footie with the kids outside our tent!), but it might have helped if the site owners were a bit more strict about ball games. We did start to get a bit fed up of telling the little darlings to take their game elsewhere as the ball hit our tent again, or they nearly tripped over our guy ropes running after it, though not to the point where we felt it was bad enough to complain.

The site was quiet at night, although I did hear young babies crying from time to time, but there's not exactly much anyone can do about that!

The tariff was very reasonable per night for a tent with EHU. We felt the wifi was quite expensive, so we didn't try that. However, the mobile (3G) signal is just fine, as is the tv signal.

We'll definitely go back to the site - hopefully to try out the mega pods, which looked really nice, set in the woodland at the edge of the site, with their own outdoor area.

Deers Glade is a small family friendly site with helpful staff and a small shop. We have stayed in a standard pod, mega pod and our Nevada M tent.

Pods have their own parking spaces, TV and heater, own garden area with large picnic table and umbrella, brick bbq and a chiminea. Its like a mini centerparcs! The mega pods have their own toilet and kitchen, which came in very useful as it poured with rain the whole weekend and have access to another pod which contains a lovely shower!

When we camped the general toilet block had underfloor heating, was cleaned to a high standard and had hair dryers. There is a small play area and farm animals. Will go again.

Stayed at the site for a weekend in May. We're a family of 2 adults and 3 children aged 15, 11, & 10 and we also took our 4 dogs. Friends joined us with their caravan and we were put opposite each other.

We were given an extremely friendly welcome and shown to our pitch. Due to heavy rain our pitch was quite muddy so we were advised to park our car in the visitor spaces near reception which was fine with us. We do struggle to find campsites that allow us to take 4 dogs but Deersglade were so accommodating when I contacted them.

The park is very pretty, well maintained and the toilet/shower blocks are the best we've seen on a campsite! Fishing on site looked good and there are woodland walks.

The playpark is quite small but very modern and the younger children spent their whole time playing there making new friends. The shop sells the basics and the reception has loads of tourist information.

The site is so lovely that our friends just returned for another weekend plus while we were there we have both booked to go back for a weekend in July! I have recommended this site to other friends and this will be a site that we will be returning to every year! Can't wait for our next visit!

What a lovely campsite, very friendly owners, couldn't do enough to help, shown to our pitch on arrival and the facilities were all explained.

Two toilet blocks, one either end of the site, ladies had 3 toilets, 2 showers and 2 enclosed sink areas with a further 2 sinks in the main area, lovely and clean and heated! It was a pleasure to go in such a lovely warm toilet block. 4 sink areas for washing up in each block, lovely hot water.

The campsite gave us some prepared bike routes and we went on the 15 mile one, when we got back hubby's cycle computer reckoned we had done 23! No wonder we were shattered!

We went on a couple of small walks around the campsite through the woods and past the pods, everyone we met spoke and it seemed a very friendly site.

Only £1 extra a night to have EHU which was really good value for money, we certainly needed our heater in the tent on a night.

The site has a fishing lake if you're into that too, a lovely children's play area and a communal picnic area.

It was so lovely we rebooked before we left!

We stayed on this site for a week, Easter 2011, and found it to be excellent. This is by far the best site we have ever stayed on in thirteen years of caravanning / camping.

The location was excellent being near to Cromer for shopping, eating out etc but it was in a beautiful setting with no noise other than the owls and wildlife at night which were nice to hear.

The pitches were of a good size and everything seemed to be close at hand. The children's play area was very good and the lake was fantastic to sit by or walk around.

The staff were helpful and polite but most importantly of all the toilet / shower facilities, two new blocks, were plentiful, very well equipped, and spotlessly clean.

We will definitely return to this site and would highly recommend it.

Lovely clean site, shower/toilet block heated and spotless, very good showers, beautiful surroundings, and very friendly and helpful proprietors. Will definitely return.

Good size pitches, with electric hook up for tents, electric £1 per day no limit on usage, for tents and caravans.

Heated toilet/shower blocks, 2 of. Pot washing block, with 4 sinks and very hot water. Camp supply shop, minimally stocked.

Fishing lake, and rod hire. Bike and tandem hire. Childrens playground. Barbeque area. Communal camp fire

Bird sanctuary. Lovely wooded area.

Coast about 10/15 minute drive. Norwich city centre about 15 minute drive.
