We have stayed here several times, both at the beginning & end of season. The site is always spotlessly clean & well-cared for. The owner (on his bicycle), leads you to your pitch & provides perfect instructions on the easiest way to park - never failed to park tidily at the first attempt.
Perhaps the sanitaires are of older style, but they are perfectly acceptable & very clean, whilst the facility for disabled campers is excellent.
Wifi is available for a small fee.
The site is well sign-posted & only a few minutes from the motorway, we use it for short stop-overs, but notice that it is also used for holidays.
There is a good cycle path opposite the entrance, the town is within walking distance, as are the supermarkets.
Camping Sainte Claire is just a delightful site, with a fenced stream running along one boundary, where the beautiful dairy cows wander across the meadow for a drink & ducks glide past. Every morning the church bells can be heard - a sure sign we have arrived in France.
Don't leave here without trying the delicious local cheese, 'the heart of Neufchatel'. It is sold in various sizes, but always heart-shaped.
We have already stayed here once this year & will be returning in August.
We booked a stop over on our way to Brittany, we were very happy with the site, the facilities were first class, we thought the pitch sizes were very good, everywhere was clean and there was plenty of hot water. We enjoyed our walked into town and then had a very good meal at a very reasonable price back at the campsite. We were sufficiently happy with everything we booked in for the return journey 2 weeks later. I would be happy to recommend this site to anybody, it's well kept by very pleasant people who are very helpful.
We had a lovely stop over here and opted to stay on the main site as we were unsure about using our card in the automatic barrier for the motor home aire. There is a little river runs along side the site and it was very green and well kept with good size pitches. The Owners did most things themselves, including running the on site restaurant. They were friendly but we struggled at times as our French is poor and their English likewise, but we got by.
The Facilities were ok and kept clean and tidy. The showers were nice and warm.
It was strange driving to the site past Lidls, Aldi and the industrial units but the site was lovely and we wish we had had more chance to explore the area - may be next time!
Another highly positive review for this site. We can see its appeal as a stopover but would also recommend it for a longer stay. We spent 7 nights here and were very happy with all aspects of the site.
We agree with all previous comments regarding the hard-working owners, the facilities (a little dated but always clean and did everything required) and the pitches etc. Despite the size of the site and it being really busy (full or almost full every night of our stay) it was always quiet (except at times for the noisiest ducks I've ever heard!) and because of the way the pitches are arranged the site felt smaller to us than it actually is and had a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The clientèle seemed to be mainly British and Dutch with some Germans and Belgians. The motorhome aire next to the site was open while we were there, but was nowhere near as busy. This consisted of hardstanding pitches with grass between them, with electric hook-up, and a motorhome service point, but no toilet/shower facilities. The cost was 12 euros a night and payment seemed to be taken automatically at the barrier as you entered - though I may be wrong as I didn't inspect it closely.
The site's location, within easy walking/cycling distance of the town centre and 2 minutes by bike/car from 3 supermarkets was perfect for us. To be honest, if I hadn't read on here that it was by a waste-water treatment works I would have been none the wiser - it just looked like a fairly modern council depot. We made a couple of visits to the town - nothing amazing but pleasant enough, and the girl in the Tourist Info. Office was very helpful - but most days we made use of the Greenway with our bikes. We thought this was excellent, offering not only almost flat, sheltered cycling along its tarmaced length, but also links to other foot/cyclepaths and information about the villages and points of interest, at most of the former level crossings. There are also frequent picnic areas, some with toilets, and snack bars/cafes, some in the former station buildings. We greatly enjoyed exploring the area using this route, despite the wetter, cooler weather the second half of our stay.
At 12 euros per night using the ACSI card we thought the site excellent value for money but even full price it would only be about 16 euros (same price all season) which we would be happy to pay if outside the ACSI dates. However, because this site is so busy it is essential to arrive as early as possible (reception opens for the afternoon at 1pm) or book in advance if you expect to arrive much after say 4pm, to be sure of a pitch.
This was a very pretty site and we paid 18 euros for a serviced pitch which was excellent value for 2 people, 2 dogs a motorhome and elec. Wifi was 4 euros a day. You could walk into Neufchâtel-en- bray but we weren't staying long enough to do so. There was an Aire next to the site which looked very clean and tidy and we would've used if had been on our own. There was also a handy field behind the campsite which we let the dogs run about on. Would definitely stay at this site again.
A large-ish site close to the A28 autoroute, and consequently full of GB and NL registration plates. Good level pitches delineated with small hedges, very neat and tidy.
Toilet facilities appear to be confined to the one building, with unisex toilets but separate showers for men, women and children. Considering the size of the site, there did not appear to be enough of either. They were okay by French standards.
The on-site restaurant is okay and reasonably priced.
Immediately across the road is a 'greenway' - an old railway line which has been tarmac-ed over and designated for the use of walkers, runners and cyclists.
As stated, there is a large E Leclerc and a McDonalds within easy walking distance.
Thought that we had 'found a treasure' the realised that if you use this site correctly it's on here already! We were travelling south on the A16 and needed a stop-over. The site is exceptionally well signed. Quick efficient office, great level pitch, excellent showers etc. We found a Super you about five minutes by car. The site is quiet at night, but there is a sewage processing plant, so the further from the office that you camp the more noticeable the machinery noise becomes. Will certainly return next year.
A friendly welcome, in French, The lady on reception spoke a little English. I am pleased that we booked because by 6. 30. Pm the FULL sign was displayed at the entrance.
We used the restaurant, we enjoyed the meal and felt it was good value. Toilets etc were fairly modern and clean.
We felt that this was a very attractive site, flower beds shrubs etc. Leclerc and McD just a few minutes walk away.
Superb site, very well maintained, beautiful pitches, owner guides you to pitch, very well organised. This site is very close to the motorway being only about 3 miles. It is right on the London to Paris Greenway which in Neufchatel is a disused railway line which was ideal for cycling and walking. This is one of the nicest sites I have ever been to. The facilities are excellent, clean, very very tidy as is the whole site. Only 16 euros a night for a large motorhome, two adults, dog and electricity. Oh and wifi is only 3 euros a day and we got excellent connection speeds.
Stopped over at this lovely site going down to the Dordogne and on the way back.
Easy access from the motorway and near to an Aldi, Lidl and Le Clerc.
Very welcoming owners who take you personally to your pitch. The site is lush and green with lovely flowers everywhere.
The toilet blocks are dated but spotlessly clean, we didn't shower so cannot comment on these.
Lovely restaurant on site - best to book a table as you arrive. The barrier opens early at 7am so great for an early getaway.
Highly recommended - it took us 1 hour 50 mins from the Eurotunnel.
