This has to be one of the prettiest places ever!
On the drive in we were a bit dubious - it looked as though the site was going to be in the middle of an industrial estate just off the motorway! But as we turned into the entrance we were amazed.
The pitches for one night stopovers seemed to be along a separate row (10A electric available). We puled in & left the van hitched up as we were leaving at 8am the following morning.
The buildings are old conversions consisting of reception, toilets & showers, bar & restaurant with a lovely little garden to sit out & eat. Food from the restaurant was average but cheap so no complaints there. Showers & toilets were spotless & the owners were lovely.
Another site we'll definitely use in the future for stopovers altho at 32 Euros for van, 5 people and 3 croissants & 2 baguettes (have to be ordered & paid up front) it's not the cheapest but still good value considering the facilities & location.

Used this site for 2 nights as a stopover and stocking up point before heading South towards Spain and it has a grassed section nearby the entrance to accommodate units for this purpose.
I liked this site, and with the supermarkets just along the road, it was ideal for stocking up with provisions and diesel and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a stopover just off the A28 heading toward Rouen or Calais, but the toilets badly need updating.
I agree with all the points made in the earlier reviews but must say that we never had any problems with smells emanating from the sewage works, and would never have known there was one there.
Will certainly use this site again if we are passing through the area.

We stayed here as a one night stopover - it's just about the right distance from Eurotunnel. The site is well signed and easy to find; reception was welcoming and we were shown to a very easy on & off pitch with hookup.
There's a small bar & restaurant, lovely cold beer and reasonable food. Facilities were fine & the site itself very is pleasant, well kept, well spaced, on the edge of a river and next to a 'green route' cycle trail. The only downside is proximity to the sewage & recycling plants which we didn't notice on arrival evening but became apparent the next morning when the wind direction changed.
Would we use again - yes, but request a pitch further away.Would also possibly consider spending a few days as the area looked worth a bit more exploration - especially with bikes!

Used this site as a stop over from the Dunkirk ferry initially for 1-2 days but stayed for 4 as it was so pleasant. Lovely, well maintained site with polite, helpful owner - large pitches & clean toilet block. Yes, signage for male/female a bit confusing but most toilets in France are dual-sex so it doesn't really matter if you land up in the wrong place. There are hole-in-floor loos but also proper ones, I never queued but you need to remember to take paper as none supplied.
Three supermarkets in the same road as campsite within walking distance, including a Leclerke. Sewerage plant close by but no smells detected. The big plus for this site is it is about 200 yds from a dedicated cycle track - a disused railway line from Dieppe has been converted into a cycle track about 100Kl long where we cycled with our doggie trailer in absolute safety. You can stop off wherever you want and go into towns and explore or for the very fit, cycle to Dieppe and return.
An absolute beauty and we are looking forward to returning there in September for a longer stay next time. No pool and no washing machine unfortunately.

Stayed here for one night before catching ferry at Boulogne , nice location next to river and several supermarkets within walking distance also easy to find just 2 kilometres of the motorway .
However I was not impressed with the male Toilets as two were just holes in the ground which I most certainly wont use and the other two had no toilet seats which is not good if you suffer from back problems and want to sit down .
Will not use again

This is a beautiful site and well situated to call off to break your journey. The booking in process was efficient, and the owners friendly. The pitches are nice sizes and the site is beautifully kept. There is a small bar and a restaurant, which we had intended using, but unfortunately they were not able to cater for vegetarians, not even to the extent of preparing an omelette! There are plenty of places to eat, and good takeaways, nearby, so we settled for that plus a drink outside the bar, which was lovely.
Unfortunately, there was a strong smell from the treatment plant, which was not constant, but wafted over very regularly.
The signage for the showers and toilets was confusing, and I ended up going in the male toilets by mistake!
It was good to be able to order bread for the morning breakfast, which would have been more pleasant if it hadn't been for all those returning to Britain that morning, and shouting loudly to one another whilst packing up cars. Not pleasant for anyone wanting a lie in!
We would definitely use this site again as a stop over.

This is a nice clean quiet site, 3 supermarkets in the same road, nice little town. The downside to this site is the showers and toilets 2 footprints and a hole in the floor ! I thought someone had pinched the pan ! The other 2 toilets had no seats, and they do not supply toilet paper, but still a nice little site and cheap.

What a great site right next to a cycle way, you can bike safely for over 50km. You can ordered bread every morning and 3 supermarket are within walking distance the other is on the other side of town.
As for the water works this is not a problem as they are nearly finished the building of the new water/treatment works and this should do away with any smell. We stayed for over a week and did not find any smell.
The site is very well kept and so tidy the owners very helpful. Toilet / showers are very clean with plenty of hot water.
Also the vet in town speaks English so getting your pet passport done is easy.
If you are staying for a few days ask for a site lower down the site as the overnighters are put up by the gate.

We have used this site twice now for overnight stops to and from Spain. The owners are very helpful, polite and will take over in English when your stuck with your French. Local produce can be ordered for the following morning and it is good quality. Extremely peaceful location despite its location near to the water works.
Local supermarket within walking distance plus the town is well worth a walk around.
Recommended !

Used Saint Clare as a stop-off on the way to & from the Loire area because of its proximity to the A28. We hadn't realised that it is located at the back of a water-treatment (sewage) plant but then again, no nasty pongs on-site. It's well signed in the way that French sites are and is conveniently located close to one of Mr Leclerc's establishments too. At the foot of the site a nice view of the river helps to create a pleasing outlook. The owner is very helpful and has laid out the site quite nicely with some areas of neat rows, whilst other pitches are less formally arranged. On site there is a shop and a bar/ bistro; of course the daily delivery of bread is also available. There were families using it for longer stays, so there must be plenty to attract them in the area. From my point of view it is a great stopover site at 15€ per night for caravan 2persons + 10A electricity.
