The site is in a lovely rural area and quiet and relaxing. The owners were very friendly and accommodating & it was well located for walks & sightseeing.
Facilities were adequate & well maintained. Do stock up though before you go as there is no shop on site & it is a bit of a trek to get supplies. Luckily the site had hardened tracks as it rained a lot whilst we were there but the tracks made sure we didn't get bogged down
I would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone who wants to get away from it all. We will return as soon as we can.

If you want a get away from it all site, with a beach close by, beautiful sunsets and a warm friendly welcome, this is the place to go.
The owners were particularly friendly & helpful. The toilet block was modern & clean, we have our own shower so didn't get to try those.
A small washing area was available & we also got to check out the new camping 'pods' which looked great fun.
The ground is flat & well drained. We unusually had the car with us and were grateful for that as there isn't anything nearby, in the way of shops, pubs etc.
A lovely spot & would recommend to families & couples wanting a 'get a way from it' holiday, with the mountains behind you and the sea in front, just a field away.

We stayed here Easter weekend and what a lovely little site
Very peaceful and laid back
The owner was very nice and helpful
The shower block was always clean and hot water for showers. Only draw back was there was no toilet paper, we had to get our own
But apart from that we loved it my two kids loved having the big field to run about in
When we decide to visit north Wales again we'll defo call in
The beach is only a short walk away which is a pebble beach, not sand, but still very nice

Well. What a lovely surprise awaits you in this part of the world if you visit Cae Clyd.
The site is quite large and spread over a couple of fields, and had a close proximity with the pebble beach (plenty of room and driftwood for making camp fires on the beach.
The site owners are friendly and are always around should you need them.
I have to admit that I was a little concerned when I found out that there were only 3 showers and toilets, but as far as the showers are concerned I wish I had one this big at home. You could easily fit 3 people in the shower so if you need to save time. Then you could always do that!
I have to admit that the field was not at it's best, there were large mole hills and the grass didn't look as it if it had been mowed for a while but the breathtaking views more than made up for this.
A small camp shop wouldn't go amiss either. Even if only selling a few basics.
All in all a nice site and really good for a weekend away from it all.
Looking forward to going back when the weather is a little better.

I had a two night stay here in August 2011. My eldest son is five and this was his first camping trip. We left Mum and younger brother at home for some proper 'boy' time together.
I wanted a site that by the coast and very basic. I didn't want swimming pools and entertainment centres.
This site was perfect for us. It has three very spacious fields. I don't know if it was planned or not, but the main field was occupied by caravans and large tents. The second field, that could have housed 30 medium sized tents comfortably, had about four in it. The third field was empty. We chose the second field and a pitch close to the coast that was protected from the wind.
The fields were clean and not over grown. Although a nice place to spend time, the beach is stoney with no sand.
The only facilities at the site were a shower block and a washing up station.
The shower block consisted of about 6 toilets and three large shower rooms. They were all very clean and we never had to queue, although we did use them very early.
The washing up station consisted of two sinks with red hot water. Again, very clean and no waiting time.
I had had a bit of email contact with the owner of the site and met her a couple of times whilst there. She was very pleasant and helpful at all times.
We had a wonderful trip that was made even better by this excellent, but very basic, campsite.

Location of site fantastic virtually on beach. Positioned close to Caernarvon and Phwelli.
A most friendly welcome from the owners, was given a choice of pitches on arrival with plenty of space between tents in the roomy flat field.
The brand new, high spec, shower block was opened with three free, spacious, modern showers and toilets.
A new washing up facility was almost complete with a little work going on the ground works.
Exceptional value for money, very small charge for children and no charge for dogs. Throughout our stay the owners were always helpful, honest and informative of local goings on.
Because of coastal location may be a little windy at times. We would highly recommend this friendly, excellent site, for families and couples alike.

A relaxed basic camp site, with flat spacious pitches in a great location. A lovely beach a field away and the mountains surrounding. I would certainly recommend this camp site, and we will definitely return.
There aren't many facilities close to hand, but with Morrisons in Caernarfon, what else do you need. We had a fire on the beach, enjoyed some great walks and had a thoroughly relaxing time without any kids.
The showers and toilet facilities were basic, yet perfectly adequate. The site comprises of two fields. We chose the more secluded field with further to walk for the loo

Fantastic little site. Stayed 3 nights over the bank holiday and pitched right next to the beach, fantastic for an evenings stroll to work off dinner, people staying at this site make little fires on this beach at night and sit and have drinks, it`s a wonderful way to end the day.
Brilliant location for a number of attractions and walks. Facilities at site are communal and newly built showers and toilets, kept spotless by owner ( who is always on hand to offer any assistance)
Will definitely return next year. Well recommended.

Just arrived home a couple of days ago from visiting this campsite. Had a lovely time from beginning to end. The owners were two of the most gracious we had come across and we have camped for a good few years now. They were happy to help in any way they could and always had time for a chat. The showers were a perfect temperature and flow and were clean as were the toilets. There are new shower rooms in the process of being built. The location of the site is stunning with the beach just a tiptoe away and the backdrop of snowdon breathtaking. It is a good base to visit many places on the peninsula and we will certainly be visiting again.

Just magic! With friends we have had a most wonderful few days at Cae Clyd. The location is stunning right next to a stony beach with a back drop of the mountains. The site is flat and obviously drains well (we arrived after the bad bank holiday weekend but the ground was fine).
The site is spacious with plenty of space for the kids to run / play football / fly kites.
It is superb value. We found the facilities fine, there are two showers with good water flow and two toilets. There are kept very clean and the owners are extending them very soon. Speaking of the owners-the most friendly welcome I have had on a site-very helpful.
There is a Tesco nearby in Caenarfon, a sandy beach just up the road and a mountain called Snowdon nearby!
If you want relaxing family camping in a stunning rural setting where there are no bars / clubs / noise then I haven't been to a better site.
Having a family BBQ on the beach with good friends, mountains behind you and the sun setting over the sea will be a lifelong memory.
Needless to say want to get back.
