We visited the site midweek at the end of June and it was quiet. We had booked a large tent pitch and what we given was big enough for any tent. R reception was well stocked and the staff very friendly. Communication before our visit had also been very good. The pitch was £14 a night for 2 adults and a child, which is a very good price.
The site seemed to be geared more towards tourers but there were still quite a lot of tent pitches all of which seemed to be flat. The site is well spaced out and all pitches are numbered. The facilities were the best we have used. Fresh flowers, free showers, free hair-drier, enough loos and showers and even piped music! These were in two blocks. There is a play-field, an indoor and outdoor play area and plenty of walking nearby.
Overall this is an excellent park well worthy of the awards it has attained and one which we would return to.
Fantastic site. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be returning. Facilities good, toilet & shower block really clean (very important feature for our family!). Site managers are really friendly and helpful. Excellent location for cycling, walking and exploring Anglesey, with loads of places to discover. Beaches could be the envy of any european destination! It's not too far to explore northern Wales and if like we did, you can take the ferry to Dublin from Holyhead quite cheap & easily, although dont expect a smooth crossing in October!
Went here as a large group (3 tents, 1 caravan with 2 awnings).
Excellent site, with large pitches and loads of space for the kids to play, as well as a dedicated ball game area (excellent), indoor play area with slides and climbing frame, pool tables etc, and outdoor play area.
Despite the family facilities, and the busy site in August there was not too much noise, and never a queue for the excellent toilet facilities, which were free and had plenty of hot water and reasonable space.
The site is incredibly dog friendly - almost all other units seemed to have dogs, but there was no sign of fouling which is nice.
Camp shop fairly basic, but ok for the essentials, and the site is really nicely landscaped with a pond (just outside the main gates) and flowers etc everywhere.
Would certainly return here - lovely site, liked the laid back feel and cheapness of Anglesey and loved this site.
This site was lovely. Everything we needed, including fully serviced. The owner was very accommodating. Book in is usually after 2pm, the site was quite, so we where allowed to arrive at 10.30. Because the site was quite, the indoor play area was closed, but she offered to open it just for our 4 year old.
The site was immaculate, and plenty of space for children to play, including a meadow and small football field. There is also a dog walking area. The wash area was immaculate. And the area for chemical toilets was also excellent. We opted for fully serviced pitch, which included a 15amp elec. supply. If your looking for a chippy, we found a great one in Benlich. But expect a queue in season. We will certainly go back.
An excellent site, with great facilities. This site has the cleanest toilet blocks I have seen at a campsite in the UK. The showers where hot and free. There are good facilities for those with dogs with trails around the campsite but some parts where shared with the childrens playfield. Not a problem most of the time though.
Quiet during the week but can get a bit noisy during the weekend with the kids there but the owners had placed us away from others as we are child free!
The campsite is easy to find but if your going then you need to proceed past Marian-glas and follow the signs for Moelfre but follow the road A5025 past Moelfre and the campsite is about 1 mile down the road on the left, just past the church.
A really nice site in a nice location, will go again.
July 2005 We have just spent a week on Home Farm and were very impressed with the whole site. We found the people very friendly and the site itself to be immaculate. The toilet facilities (although not the largest we have ever been to) were extremely clean. We have a large tent and had a huge pitch for it which we could specify when we booked. I would recommend this site to anyone. We will be visiting again :-)
June 2005 A really nice friendly site. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Toliet and shower block lovely and clean fresh flowers even in the gents! plenty of hot water in the free showers, also free hairdryer. The site was well set out with some large pitches all clearly marked. Although the site was clearly busy, it did not feel crowded or cramped. Also use of the tennis courts for a small charge including equipment.Lovely safe sandy beaches within easy driving distance. If you want a peaceful beautiful place to stay then try here.
March 2005 Overall, this is an immaculate site with excellent facilities. The reception / shop is well stocked not only with groceries, but also information leaflets for all the local attractions so you can plan your holiday once you arrive. They also have a well-stocked lending library available for a small fee. A free-to-use freezer is also supplied for your freezer packs.
The toilet/shower blocks are spotless, even having fresh flowers in the gents. I would have liked to put my clothes on a bench or shelf rather than the floor whilst showering, especially as the wet/dry area of the shower cubicle quickly becomes wet/wet with a clumsy oaf like me.
The grassed areas are well drained and despite plenty of rain before we arrived, our tent stayed clean and dry. Some of the pitches are snug for those with large tents, so it’s best to inform the owners of your outfit when booking.
Water and refuse points are well positioned. We stayed over the Easter bank holiday and although the site was busy, there was no need to queue for the facilities.
There is an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom. At times the latter is a victim of its own success and the babies and toddlers play in the same area as the teenagers. I would have preferred a little segregation as the older boys can get a bit boisterous when playing pool on the two tables provided. There is an excellent little adventure playground within the playroom, but again my 3-year-old was a bit intimidated when the big boys started running around. I think that the indoor playroom was particularly popular because of the brisk weather; come the summer it may be quieter with more of the kids playing outside, especially as a football field and tennis court are also provided.
There is little within walking distance of the site, although fellow campers informed me that Moelfre was worth the walk with a small shingle cove and friendly pub. A short drive brings you to Bennlech Sands where we spent an afternoon digging on the beach and eating ice-cream. Bennlech Village has a cash machine, off-licence, chemist and numerous take-aways. Drive a little further and you come to Beaumaris, worth a visit for the castle alone. We spent a couple of hours exploring all the dark narrow corridors within the walls. Stroll off the main road, up the hill into the village and there are plenty of multi-coloured painted houses that kept my 3-year-old Balamory-fan interested.
Departure is by 10:30 AM, but we were allowed to stay until 1PM for free, and had the option of staying until 6PM for £4.00. This is obviously dependant on other bookings.
July 2004 A really excellent campsite. It is divided into small paddocks so it does not feel big or crowded. Shower blocks are immaculate, probably the best I have ever seen. Lovely location, tennis court on site for the sporty minded, small shop and very helpful owners. Not much within walking distance, you need a car to get to the nearest beach (about 5 mins) and the nearest pub (about 3 mins). We would definitely camp here again despite it being quite expensive (£18 a night for standard pitch with electric) and would highly recommend it.
June 2004 Arrived at Home Farm on a windswept Friday and had the usual difficulties trying to get the tent up. Plenty of support from the site staff and advice on where to pitch the tent in such windy conditions. We were met on day 2 with glorious sunshine and a delightful site. Immaculate grass pitches perfectly spaced for privacy, superb toilet and shower block and a real friendly atmosphere amongst the local tenters and caravaners. A small shop selling the usual essentials, tennis court and indoor games room complemented a compact well organised site. If you want peace and quiet without a "throbbing clubhouse" give Home Farm a try.... but ssshhh.. dont tell everyone!
Whit Bank Holiday May 2004 This is a fantastic site. The pitch we were given was large, level and the grass was excellent. The shower block was clean and well laid out. The showers were the type you control the temperature yourself and stay on for as long as is required. The cubicles had plenty of space. 4 showers, 4 toilets and 2 vanity basins.
There is a outdoor play area as well as an indoor one, with pool tables and table football. The shop which doubles as reception sells everything you may need from bread and milk, to daily papers and magazines to camping equipment.
There are statics on this site but they are separate from the camping / caravan area.
The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. The site was always clean and provided a dog walk area. There was also a large sports field.
This is a AA Rated 4 star site and although we paid £19.75 per night it was worth every penny.
There are plenty of things to do out and about, beaches, Beaumaris is lovely. The Breeze Hill Hotel serves a lovely meal.
May 2004 Medium Sized Site, with every facility you could wish for. You can see why this site won the AA campsite of the year 2003 - very tidy with flower borders and shrubs separating the site. The Toilet block is probably the best I've seen, Spotless.. We stopped in the top field and had loads of room, the staff v.friendy.. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for - we also payed £4 to stop on till 5 o'clock which made life easier.
