Just returned from a four night stay at Meadowview Caravan Park.

Nicky at reception was very helpful and informative. Being on the rally field, with no electric hook-up, we were, within reason allowed to go where we liked.

The site is very quiet and safe. There is a lockable gate at the top of the site, so you have to have a key (provided for your stay). We had very wet weather, but the water drained away quickly enough.

Facilities are good. Toilets and showers are clean and spacious and the site itself was well-maintained.

We went there with our three boys (7, 5 and 3) and were worried they might get bored, but they were more than happy "bombing" around the fields, playing ball games, frisby etc.

The lake and the woodland area are beautiful and well-worth a look.

Loads to do in the local area and some nice pubs. The Old Barn about three miles down the road (left out of the gate) serves lovely food.

Extremely reasonable price for the quality of campsite. We will be going back again!

We stayed here for 3 Nights over the bank holiday weekend, we have stayed here before.   We used a tent with electrical hook up, we had plenty of space for our gazebo as well.  There is no play area for children, but there is a big field where they can play football.   The toilet and shower block is clean, but there is only one shower, so that means there can be a queue in the morning.  A fish and chip van comes on a Friday night.  The owners are friendly and helpful.   There are lots of attractions nearby, its not far from the New Forest,  Bournemouth and Poole are within easy reach.  Moorsvalley Country Park is a couple of miles up the road.  We enjoyed our stay and will be going back in August

We have just returned from 3 nights at this lovely site. It is located close to Ringwood which is on the outskirts of the New Forest.

The site is flat and the grass was freshly cut and this made pitching the tent very easy. The views of the meadow are lovely and you get full benefit of the evening sun. We witnessed some gorgeous sunsets whilst we were there and the lack of pollution made stars look very clear in the sky.

Toilets and showers are located in the top field (so a little walk from the bottom field where we were camped). They were very clean and well stocked but I feel that 1 shower for males and 1 for females was not really adequate. I only queued once but I was up there at 7 each morning. I wouldn't like to be there on a bank holiday weekend!

Some pitches had electric hookups and there are plenty of water points around the site.

The owners are very friendly and looked after the site well. Every friday evening a fish and chip van comes to the site, so you needn't worry about cooking if you don't want to!

There is a large fishing pond and nature reserve at the bottom of the campsite and I believe you can fish there all day for £4. It's also very pretty if you fancy a stroll.

Horton is a very small village. There is one pub about a mile along the road but the owners do not recommend you visit on foot because there are no pavements and the road is quite dangerous. The nearest supermarkets and shops are in Ringwood.

The New Forest is beautiful and easily accessible and we went on many lovely walks around different parts. The horses are beautiful. We also visited Bucklers Hard, near Beaulieu which was very nice for a day out. It is where many of the old naval ships during Nelson's time were built. You can go on boat trips, go on a walk or do some birdwatching.

We also visited Christchurch, Bournemouth and Hengistbury Head on the coast one day and also went north towards Salisbury and visited Stonehenge and Woodhenge.

All in all, an excellent campsite. We would definitely return, but would probably avoid it at the busiest times!

We stayed here for the Easter weekend & had a lovely time. We had a hard standing pitch with hookup. The site has lots of space so you do not feel like you are on top of each other. The toilets & shower block were very clean & the actual shower area is huge with plenty of space for changing.  My husband loved the fishing lake & our dog Jessie loved the dog walking area (plenty of sticks).
Do not be put off by the site being a little way from the beach as it only takes 20 minutes to get there. There are also lots of places to visit all within easy driving distance & lots of lovely walks close to the site. The warden was extremely friendly & was always on hand to answer any queries & to make sure everyone was alright. This site is the place to go for a very relaxing, quiet break we will definitely be returning hopefully later this year.
