Wrens of Ryedale is jewel in the North Yorkshire crown. This small and quiet site is immaculately kept by the staff. Paul and Linda, the wardens, are extremely helpful and friendly.
The site is well placed for all of the North Yorkshire Moors attractions. Situated between Helmsley and Kirby Moorside the site makes an ideal base. Both towns are only 3 miles from the site. It is also next door to the North Yorkshire Spa Retreat which is open for food and drinks as well as the spa.
The site is mainly luxury lodges with around 10 yards standing pitches for seasonal touring / touring and approximately 4 grass pitches with electric.
The toilet block is small but always kept very clean. Each pitch has electric hookup. There are various drink water points around the site.

Can't rate this site highly enough. After searching for some considerable time we managed to drop on this site.
We were getting fed up of touring and having to vacate a site by lunchtime, so we decided to look for a seasonal pitch and this site was everything we were looking for, small, quiet and well placed for visiting local areas and access to some superb walks.
The site is extremely well maintained, clean facilities and with a feel of a friendly family atmosphere.
For those wanting a seasonal or place to stay with your tourer, visit and see for yourself.

A lovely campsite in a scenic and peaceful area, although its rural location meant there were no shops/pubs etc. immediately nearby.
The facilities were brilliant as both the washing up area and the toilets/showers were spotlessly clean and seemed very new.
Also, the owners were very friendly and helpful which made the site feel comfortable and welcoming.
We really enjoyed our night here and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Booked this site at short notice & what a choice we made. Lovely little site in a lovely location.
There is no shop but Helmsley is only 3 miles away with some lovely local, fresh foods. It only has 12 (iirc) touring pitches so we felt very lucky to get in at such short notice.
Toilets/showers absolutely spotless. Lovely quiet site, but the quiet is shattered by noisy neighbours. But that is not Wrens fault. Recommended

Wrens of Ryedale is one of the best kept sites we have come across, it's not a big site so easy to get round, flat pitches and grass kept short, nothing out of place. Toilet block was always clean, ample washing area
And has laundry with small freezer, 10-20p charge for freezing
Blocks. Set down a country lane with nice views.
The owners were very helpful and have no problem recommending this site.

We stayed here last summer and had a thoroughly positive experience. The facilities are a very good quality, the staff friendly and the scenery lovely.
It is less geared to tents rather than caravans, and is probably better suited to be a base for exploring the area.
I generally look for the campsite itself to be an experienced and whilst this isn't quite that, I would certainly stay here again!

An excellent, beautifully kept site situated outside the village of Nawton which is 3 miles from Helmsley. Unfortunately, apart from a part-time fish and chip shop and an Indian restaurant, the village has no facilities. We avoided the local pub as it looked very run-down from the outside.
The owners made us feel very welcome to the site which accommodates a mixture of tourers and seasonal vans, tents and some lodges. The shower block appears to be brand new and was spotlessly clean.
Although there were some young children staying on the site, it was very peaceful as there are no designated play areas for children.
Being in a rural area with lots of quiet roads this site is ideal for bike rides and indeed we spent several hours out and about and saw very few cars.
During our stay we visited the White Swan at Ampleforth and The Star Inn at Harome both of which were beautiful.
All in all we would have no hesitation in recommending this site.

We stayed at this site for the fist 2 weeks in July and had a lovely time, the site is beautifully kept with flowers and shrubs just like it was part of the owners garden,
The toilets and showers were spotless and they were heated so would be nice and warm in early spring late summer,
The owners were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
We went out every day and didn't see half the things to see in the area.
If we could give this site 11 out of 10 we would
We will be back.

I feel I must add my comments for this site, something I have never done before.
Most previous reviews give this site a 10 / 10 rating. This I feel is under rated. This is the best site I have ever been to (30 years of camping and caravanning).
The site itself is immaculate, the owners are incredibly friendly, nothing too much trouble. Facilities are kept immaculate at all times and shows the constant love and care that is put into running this site. The position of the site is ideal for touring the beautiful North York Moors.
This site deserves at least 12 / 10.
We had an amazing 10 day stay (glorious weather always helps).
This is a real Gem of a site and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a North York Moor trip.
We only managed to see a small part of this beautiful area and will have to return next year.
This is the site we will return to.
Reviews are always a personal thing, but I defy anyone to find any fault with it.

What a fabulous campsite and what great owners. They do everything they can to help. The site is very clean and tidy, showers etc immaculate.
We were towed onto our site which is a great relief when you're a novice.
It's in a great location and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the lovely yorkshire moors.
Desi Indian within walking distance is really good and so is Gepettos in Helmsley.
