Possibly the best camp site we’ve stayed at so far.
Arrived intending to stay for 3 nights and extended our stay to 7 nights.
The site is beautiful located within a valley in the Mach Loop, the planes fly directly over the site, it’s amazing!
The farmer Huw is lovely man, chatty and kind but not intrusive. Just pitch up and he will come around to welcome you and take payment, no need to search him out.
Fire pits for hire but the site does not sell firewood so bring your own.
10 min drive to Dolgellau which is a lovely little village with awesome bakeries and butchers etc there’s even a really nice outdoors shop too. The petrol station next to the big Spar sell cheap logs and kindling.
30 min drive to Barmouth beach which is another lovely place and not overpriced like many seaside towns.
The toilets/shower block is very clean and always topped up with good quality loo roll.
Take 20p coins for the shower.
We went non electric so the communal freezer was a life saver.
Can’t wait to go back soon! Loved it!
There’s a nice stream and a waterfall on the hill that has a small pool at the bottom which you or your dogs can cool off in if it’s warm.
Alfie the Donkey is so lovely too he was our neighbour for the week :)

What an experience! Even in a week of rather filthy weather we still had the most wonderful stay here. Huw really is the most fantastic host, attentive, kind, checking in twice a day and has a huge wealth of knowledge on the area. Having electric to our tent saved the holiday as we could have our little heater on to dry out. Despite the reviews we had very good phone signal (with EE) the entire time even in very foggy weather.
The toilets and shower were cleaned regularly and stocked with good quality TP, hot water sink, and washing up facilities all clean and work well. Bring a stock of 20p coins for the shower and hairdryer. A large range of pitches on good ground made for easy tent peg application.
There's a beautiful stream running alongside the caravan pitches and an abundance of stunning walks right on the doorstep. If you're lucky you'll get to see some RAF or USAF aircraft fly through at low level, we had 1 day where we saw a Phenom, A400M and 2 Typhoons all within the hour!
The Donkey loves attention and cuddles!
This campsite is a real gem perfectly located for easy access to everything North Wales has to offer, the local pubs serve good food and there's a fuel station with a convenience store 10 minutes drive away, 15 mins drive is Dollgelleu, this was handy for the launderette to tumble dry clothes and shoes. Machynlldd is a lovely town to amble around with some really quirky vintage and antique shops. Barmouth has wonderful seafood and beaches and pay a visit to Corris railway to help keep it running.
We are already pencilling in our next stay!

Omg, where do I start! This was my first experience of staying in a motorhome and on a campsite, something I’ve always wanted to do.
I’ll be honest, when I arrived I cried, had only been use to 5* all inclusive luxury hotels, I thought how would I cope! The washing facilities included one shower for men and one for women, 3 toilets, and cold water running taps.
If you wanted to use the shower you needed 20pence pieces.
We set up, and you are allowed to use a pop up tent, electric and water hook up, no problem, in 20 mins I decided this wasn’t for me and would never do this again!
Few minutes after that, I sat down with a drink and took in the views! Wow, this made me forget everything I had said about it, the area is stunning, never seen anything like it before, the walks were beautiful, and the perfect place to watch low flying jets, everyone on the campsite that we saw were all very friendly, for this reason, I would highly recommend this site, and I’m sure to return again.

Friendly host and beautiful location as others have mentioned in previous reviews.
However I was surprised to find that the washing up area only had cold water and the ladies toilet had no hot water taps in the 2 basins but an electric heater providing hot water into a Belfast sink?. ? The facilities were pretty basic for the £30 fee.
I don’t like giving what sounds like a bad review but felt future campers should know what to expect…so long as you know these things and are happy with them then it’s a site I could recommend but it wasn’t for us.

Me and 4 friends stayed here for a couple nights before and after Hiking,
The facilities where clean and plenty of space for tents to be spread out.
The owner is the highlight of this site!
He was the friendly nicest person I’ve met at a campsite came and chatted to use on arrival and every evening and morning checking we were all okay!
10/10 will be back in the future 110%

Just returned from this site. Hope I have enough room to write everything.
The booking was made over the phone and the lady was very helpful with information to my questions. Directions was also spot on.
On arrival we were met by the owner called Hew. What an amazing guy he is. Can never do enough for you. Any help you need he will always do his best. He showed us a couple of pitches to choose from. He was always on hand every day if help of information was needed. The on-site toilets and shower was always kept clean by Hew. Showers was 40p for 6mins.
There was sheep, cows and a donkey called Alf. The children loved to feed him every day. Bread was his favourite food. Very friendly and loved a good rub.
If you love low flying aircrafts then this is the site to view them without climbing anywhere.
Camp fires was aloud on-site but please try and lift off the ground. Hew does have logs if needed for a cheap price.
There is two tractors on-site which my son wanted to see most days.
A stream also runs through the site which is very peaceful.
Barmouth is about 30mins away. Petrol garage about 10mins away. Sells nice ice cream.
This site has got to be one of the best places ever visited. Lovely views and walks. Thank you Hew and his wife for a lovely stay. Will remember this forever.
Hope to see you again soon. From the family with two children and used to work at the airport and now self employed. 👍🏽💙

Great site in a great location
Basic facilities but every thing a camper needs
The owner Huw is very knowledgeable and helpful
The campsite to statics is closed at end of October
But
The campsite is open all year to tourers of all types (says Huw) despite what you may read
I went underground with Corris Mine Explorers - great trip
There is also a craft centre and Railway at Corris for the less active
