 Return visit to this lovely campsite.
Really friendly owner and great welcome.
You choose your own pitch, guided by said owner.
Lovely large, flat hardstanding pitches all with water, waste, TV hook up and EHU. Oh and the sound of the water nearby.
We had issues with our TV and the hook up didn't work for us - the owner checked it all for us and it seems it was our cable? Anyway, we had DVDs on board for the evenings so it was fine.
Facilities block always spotless and very modern. Lovely waterfall shower heads and large cubicles. Would like privacy cubicles for washing but you can't have it all!
Bins/recycling in the centre of the park, but elsan disposal almost at entrance so quite away from some pitches.
Excellent walks in the area, straight from the site. Short walk (20 mins) to visitor centre and the start of the dams. Gift shop and cafe at the centre.
40-45 minute (mainly off road) walk into Rhayader. Lots of little independent shops, cafes and pubs. No bus service to the campsite.

Very modern site with excellent facilities, including WiFi! Nice little shop on site, including cold drinks!
Stream at the bottom of the site to cool off the feet!

The drive and views as you get close are spectacular.
The site was easy to get in and out, barrier and key pad code sent on booking, first field was more your overnight Campervans, up a short slope to the main field and reception, the first 12 pitches are the best as they are secluded in blocks of 3.
The pitches around the block seemed flat. With views of the river.
On arrival we where warmly welcomed and had a choice of 6 different pitches.
The shower block is 10 out of 10 stars and the disabled toilets / shower well just not enough stars.
The site is a short walk from Elan valley dam visitor centre, interesting day with breathtaking views.

Excellent site with every facility you could need and everything in top condition. There's nothing not to like and therefore this was my second visit this year already.
The toilet & shower block is one of the best I've seen, if not the best. The washing-up facilities are excellent and unusually they are indoors. There are family bathrooms (I think these may be additional cost), a bike & dog wash room, and a small shop for essentials.
The surrounding area is was amazing too, with fantastic views, and plenty of places to visit.
The Red Kite Feeding Station is particularly worth a visit.

Stayed here whilst doing a visit to Elan Valley.
Lovely site but didn't see anybody as its all automated.
Pitches flat and spacious and facilities really nice.
No pubs within walking distance. Hotel across road only open to residents

Fantastic site, close to Elan Valley visitors centre. Flat, some shelter, plenty of space. Facilities immaculate. Key code barrier at entrance. Fridge and freezer available. Quiet, well maintained, friendly staff.
£30 for a couple in a tent per night is expensive but you get the location and facilities. It's also next to the river which becomes noisy over night and midges were a problem at dawn and dusk. Very popular with D. Of E. Groups and Leaders who seemed to take over and act like they owned the place. Also, it's nearly 3 miles walk back into Rhayader so allow an hour. The Hotel opposite wasn't open to non-residents.
I climbed up onto Drygarn Fawr. Fantastic views and scenery. The paths on the top are non-existent or sheep tracks. Take a map and compass and be prepared for miles of bog hopping and rough terrain. Llyn Carw was worth a visit. Amazing scenery on the doorstep but the roads are popular with bikers and car groups, especially weekends.
Gigrin Farm Red Kite feeding centre (£12. 50) was surprisingly good. You not only get the experience of seeing several hundred red kites gather for feeding but are also supporting their excellent conservation work.

Beautiful site tucked away in the stunning Elan Valley.
Barriered site/coded in and out.
We saw no owners/wardens on site during our time there.
Note on the reception door to just pitch up (I'm personally not a fan of this, but each to their own I suppose). Only left 5/10 for customer service as didn't see a soul.
5* facilities, clearly new and very well looked after.
We'd stayed before about 6 years ago so these facilities are a great addition.
Lovely indoor washing up area - which clearly stated NO DOGS, although there were a couple in there with their dog!
Laundry and dog/bike wash available too (£2 a pop).
Fully serviced (water, waste and EHU) large hardstanding pitches some private'ish with hedges.
You can walk to the Elan Valley Visitor Centre (further than we remembered LOL) where there's a shop, cafe and museum. It's further onto and up the first of the dams. There's also a 3 mile walk to Rhayader.
We had booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one (leaving late the next day) as we'd done all we had wanted to do.
Dark skies at night and VERY peaceful.

What a great site. A wide range of pitches (we chose grass non-electric, but lots of other options were available),
Great location and very modern spotless facilities. (It was a bit tricky getting through the heavy doors though, and we were concerned less fit or smaller campers would find them hard / get caught).
Great welcome and very friendly staff.
Effectively enforced no noise after 10 policy as well.
Great location for biking / walking with direct access to paths.
Excellent value for money.
Will be returning.

Great campsite with new toilet and shower block.
Great location for Elan valley
Approx 2 miles from Rhayader
Only comment was there was no grey waste on the hardstanding and was under the understanding it was a fully serviced pitch.

Fantastic site, very clean with excellent facilities set in a beautiful location.
Staff are very welcoming and helpful.
Would definitely recommend and will be back for a longer stay next time.
