Stayed for new years eve. Top entertainment and customer service.

Only disappointing bit was we had to book a minimum of two nights from NYE, however on new years day, they closed basecamp and the bar at 4pm.

Another visit for the beer festival which didn't disappoint.

Stayed on rabbits grove, fully serviced pitches. Very big.

Great entertainment. Good food. Will be here same time next year.

Unfortunately Clippesby Hall has really gone downhill from our previous visits.

We remembered Rabbits Grove as being wonderfully secluded, as if you were tucked away in the woods. Now it’s open and bare on one side, and has lost its cosy wooded feeling.

We also didn’t appreciate the fact that even though there were a lot of people on site, the only toilet/shower block open was in ‘Basecamp’.

Our visit was in the last week of March, which may technically be low season, but the lack of facilities spoiled our visit. There aren’t even any bins available near the pitches, only behind Basecamp (no recycling either).

In our opinion, Basecamp is a noisy, characterless place that is a very poor replacement for the bar that used to be on site.

Needless to say, we won’t be returning to Clippesby Hall; it’s a shame as we’ve had such good stays in the past.

We booked a 3 night stay on the Rabbit Grove, however we only stayed 2 nights due to the noise coming from the renovation work that was being undertaken on 2 pitches next to the one we were allotted.

We requested to move as the noise of the digger and workmen was very loud. We were given another pitch in the same area with just as much noise but not quiet as close as the original pitch.

The toilet block was closed so we had to go to the basecamp to wash the dishes and use the facilities which were very modern and clean. The individual shower/ toilet cubicles had frosted glass doors giving a feeling of vunerability as they are gender neutral.

Dogs were not permitted in the basecamp so no dining in there for us as it was too cold and windy to sit outside.

The site is set in a lovely woodland and very pleasant to walk around.

We had a long walk to The Lion Pub in Thurne along reasonably quiet lanes, worth the effort as the food was lovely.

Disappointed with our stay due to the noise during the day from the work going on so we left a day early.

Stayed on rabbits grove, fully serviced for a couple of night for the beer festival.

Nice big pitch and overall the site is nicely laid out.

Nothing special about the shower/toilets but all ok.

Bar and restaurant very nice although drinks are very expensive.

Entertainment was good and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Nice walk, although just over 4 miles along the broads to the Bridge Inn at Acle.

Will visit again

A nice site in a woodland setting, was very quiet when we were there with very few other customers. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent. The remote location and busy main road with no pavement limited any options for walks to local villages or pubs etc.

The charge per day per dog made it one of the most expensive sites we have stayed on. Our favourite site in Norfolk doesn't charge for dogs, but we thought on this occasion we would try somewhere different.

We also wanted to find a site nearer to family who have moved to this area only to discover on arrival that visitors are not allowed to go to your motorhome or caravan, what a strange rule!

There is very poor phone signal on our two networks across the whole site and there's only WiFi in the cafe bar. May be they are trying to force you to use their cafe bar but for us that is another strange decision.

Most of the good camping sites have free browsing wifi everywhere. So overall a nice site but some strange rules and not for us.

We will be trying other local sites to find a base for our regular visits, which allow visitors, don't charge so much for dogs and have wifi

Due to my husband being diagnosed with Skin Cancer we were unable to go but have stayed before and its a wonderful place.

I must mention how good they have been about our need to cancel and when he is better we will be rebooking.

Very professional and approachable people.

 1. Friendly and helpful staff

2. Super sized pitches (we were on a serviced pitch on Meadow) demarcated by hedges.

3. Well appointed shower/toilet block (attached to Basecamp) frequently cleaned by staff.

4. Quiet atmosphere across large site with areas in a variety of layouts. No road noise.

5. We could walk and cycle from site to Acle & Potter Heigham (map and advice from reception)

6. We could drive easily to Acle, Ludham, Great Yarmouth, Caister, Horsey, Winterton amongst many Broads highlights.

7. Well maintained site - hedges, flowers etc

Only complaint over which site has no control whatsoever is the nearest roads are busy for cyclists and walkers - I noted, above, that the information provided at reception does point out traffic free routes.

Great site beautiful woodlands vary well manicured all areas.

Good facilities toilets and showers immaculately kept.

Good food in the clubhouse reasonably priced very helpful staff.

Large Pitches, plenty of space for kids to roam, nice and quiet at night only downside pigeons in the morning must have been the season for mating (any time for pigeons),

Apart from that one of the nicest sites we’ve been on will be going there again. Must be good the amount of people we spoke to who had been there before.
Thanks to all the staff.

Fantastic campsite, great shower, toilet, laundry facilities.

Bar/restaurant was also very good with a nice selection of food.

Only 6 miles from the coast, quite beaches or livelier Great Yarmouth.

Fantastic value for money.

We would definitely return in the future.

A really beautiful site with helpful, friendly staff, we stayed for two nights in the Rabbit Grove section of the campsite. Our pitch was a serviced hard standing pitch on pea gravel.

In hindsight, we’d have preferred to be in one of the nicer, quieter, grassier areas. Our pitch was generous though this area in general was crowded compared to the others on the site. Pitches are arranged around the edge, with pitches also arranged radially in the middle, where we were.

This felt a little crowded. It would be better with the outer pitches arranged around a central feature. The pitch next to us had crammed in a caravan, awning, campervan, tent and cars. They had used all of the hook up sockets and we had to ask them to remove one for us to use. A bit awkward. I wonder if the site realised they were all taking up one pitch? 🤔

Facilities were clean and tidy but we preferred using the ones at the “Basecamp” rather than our nearest, older block, where neither hairdryer worked and it looked a bit ‘tired’. Basecamp showers were set within a home from home ‘bathroom’…lovely! Free, plentiful, powerful hot water. Just what you need after a day of exploring.

We were unfamiliar with the area so asked Basecamp staff for recommendations. The lady asked what we liked doing and recommended a bike ride into nearby pretty Thurne which was an absolutely beautiful route, chock full of wildlife.

She also recommended how to see the broads by boat for the following day which we also thoroughly enjoyed. Staff’s local knowledge really is outstanding, with maps and info provided at no extra cost.

Basecamp’s bar has a lovely decked area for drinks at the back where we could sit with the dog (who wasn’t permitted inside). It isn’t undercover so we were lucky to have sunny weather!

Overall, we loved this site and would stay again, although we would perhaps choose a different spot, even if that meant ditching the EHU.

Lovely area, great customer service and clean showers and toilet block.

Park for kids was good and only 4 minutes drive from Great Yarmouth beach, 9 mins drive from hemsby which had a lovely beach.

The bar and bbq food was alright prices and food was good.

Would definitely book again
