What a wonderful site, very clean and well maintained. We were shown to our pitch and were also helped manoeuvre the van onto our pitch. There are a few rules, no ball games around the vans etc, but they are sensible ones and for everyone's enjoyment.
There is a huge field for ball games, free putting and giant chess and draughts. There is also a wonderful leisure complex, but this is extra - £11 for a family of 4.
The shower block is immaculate and very very clean; the radio is on in there too which I liked!
There is an excellent play area and the touring pitches are in little groups of about 6 so there is no overcrowding.
We liked it so much we booked to return later on this year.
First of all I will deal with the negative. After staying at this site anywhere else will be a disappointment!
We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a map to show us exactly where our pitch was. The pitch was huge, plenty big enough for our large ridgewalker howden nine person tent. Every pitch had EHU which coped with a fridge, electric bbq, laptop and mobile phone charger all at once.
Our four year old enjoyed the play area and as our pitch in the tenters area backed on to it we felt quite safe leaving him to get on with it with his new found friends.
The site provided a tenters kitchen comprising of a fridge, freezer, microwave and covered picnic tables for inclement weather. We did have a small camping fridge with us but the ability to cool a few beers and keep a few bits of food fresh was invaluable.
I can't add anything to the previous comments regarding the toilet and shower facilities apart from to confirm that they were spotless at all times of the night and day.
The swimming pool and associated facilities were superb. I never thought I would be able to sit in a jacuzzi whilst on a camping holiday!
The site was well located. The market town of Whitney was a ten minute drive away and this provided everything you needed in the way of shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. All the cotswolds attractions were within a short drive of the site and Oxford could be reached in about twenty minutes.
All in all an excellent site and we shall be back!
We paid this site a return visit for a long weekend break, and our impressions have not changed, this site sets a benchmark for other campsites to aspire to! From the well laid out pitches, to the immaculate toilet block, and finishing touches, like fridge and microwave available free of charge for those in tents etc. A well stocked shop and 2 swimming pools, all for £16.00 per night.
The pub outside the camp still doing food and busy, unfortunately 3 others nearby have ceased trading, a sign of the times! So to sum up pay a visit and enjoy. Recommended.
Although not the cheapest site around it offers very good value for money.
Never used the swimming pool - we were only staying a couple of nights but if we stayed longer we would definitely use it.
Had a 'super pitch' which I could not fault - it even had a television aerial (though we couldn't get a signal). They were trialling their wi-fi so we had it for free (and it worked ok in our van).
Showers and toilets spotless and warm.
Grounds well kept and pitches well spaced.
Shop reasonably priced and had most basics.
Dog walk good and I felt safe even at 1 a.M. When my puppies decided they would like a mid-night stroll!
This was our second visit to this site within 6 months and it was just as good as before. They've even improved the music in the toilet blocks as it now plays the local radio station.
Top facilities, top location, top site! Well done to all concerned!
Thank you to the staff at Lincoln Farm Park for a truly enjoyable stay. My partner and I, with our son of three years old decided to take a last minute break with our conway cruiser. Due to it being February I have to say as the female of the partnership I was little hesitate how warm I would be. But no thermals where needed. The site facilities also made my thoughts of winter disappear. The Facilities are spotless. To high standard. You are greeted by a warm welcome, and also guided to your pitch.
Each Pitch is spacious, environmentally friendly.
We enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels.
We all enjoyed the indoor pool on several occasions. My partner and I enjoyed the other spa facilities.
There is Shop on site with most things you would require for all the family, including swim wear if you forget. Plus delivery of bread each day and other bakery items and papers.
Two Pubs within walking distance we tried the black horse. Very nice. Family area, as well as adults only. Food was good, plus you can get take away from them.
Down the road it millets farm,Garden shop. Great place for everyone. Organic Farm shop. Farm for children, free.
Burford on your doorstep with fantastic Coffee shop bakery one of best in UK.
There’s a bus that runs outside campsite takes you to Oxford.
Cotswold wildlife Park, which dogs are welcome.
Beautiful walks on your doorstep.
I cannot find any fault, we will be returning with family in 4 weeks time.
If you are looking for small friendly campsite, with good facilities. This is the place to go from Tenters to Motorhomes. For Couples, or those with very small ones ie babies (as family bathroom with baby bath, also around the baths and pool, fixed to wall safety seats)
We do regular camping mostly abroad I have to say. In Europe their campsite are of high standard. But this is a Top one for me. Its the combination of Warmth, helpfulness of staff, plus the campsite standards. Enjoy, we have.
We were the first visitors of 2009! Yeah it snowed. A lot. Any way the park is easy to find from many major roads. It's in a lovely little village. The staff at the site were very very nice even though we were quite early getting there. A man came over to our pitch and showed us how everything worked and where everything was. The site even this time of the year was very nice with lovely trees everywhere. All paths were Cotswold gravel. The pitches were big and separated by large hedges. The whole site is level and well protected from the wind (and snow.) The toilet blocks are very clean and posh. Can’t fault them at all. It cost £10 for our family of four to go to the swimming pool, but it was dead and we had it all on our own. There is a well stocked shop at reception. There were two pubs within walking distance. They looked nice but did not go in. The sites dog walk was not very good. It was only 100 feet by 5 feet strip when we were there. However there were footpaths outside which were plenty for our dog. All in all this is a 5 star site. We will be going back. Well worth a visit.
This is a shining example of how a good site should be run. From the moment we arrived and were helped to get our 40' + outfit onto the all weather pitch to the time we left we enjoyed every moment we spent on site. The leisure centre with two pools, a fitness suite jacuzzi and sauna were brilliant and very clean as were both of the shower blocks although the smaller block was a mite cold when the outside temp was -1.5C! Can't fault it, plenty of recycling points, grey and black water disposal, we will return especially at £161 all in for the half term week. Great base for Oxford, Blenheim, Didcot Railway Centre etc.
Despite breaking down on the way to the site we had a fantastic time at Lincoln Farm Park. It's gone right to the top of our favourite sites list.
The staff were fantasticly friendly, the site itself was immaculate and the toilet blocks were spotless. Not sure about the music that was being played in there though, perhaps it's because I like my music to be a bit more lively.
As we had car problems we relied on the bus to get out and about. Not a problem though as it picks you up and drops you off right outside the entrance to the site. It also allowed us to see some lovely little villages that we would have missed has we driven everywhere. The only down side was that the first bus to Oxford was 7.20am and there wasn't another until 9.20 am.
Really enjoyed Oxford and had a couple of trips there to wander round and explore. The Natural History museum was well worth a visit (free as well!) and the kids were fascinated by the T-rex.
Blenheim Palace is also a must visit, even though it involved catching two buses each way. Spent the entire day there and could have stayed longer, only left cos we had to catch the bus back to the site.
Whitney is just a few miles up the road and is a small market town that is worth taking a look at. The chippy on the market place served delicious chips, just right after a day spent shopping.
There are a couple of pubs nearby. The Black Horse is just a few yards away, we had a quick pint in there and meant to go back to try the food but didn't get the time. Although other people on the site said the food was very good. The other pub is a five minute walk away and is next to the post office / general store.
If you fancy a bit of a walk you must try the Rose Revived pub. You can walk along the main road, no footpath so not recommend or follow a county trail that's obviously much safer, but there was a stretch of about 100 yds or so that was very muddy. We got absolutely filthy, especially the kids who both managed to fall over.
The Rose Revived is an old fashioned pub right next to the river and must be a great place to sit on a Summer's day. We went there for lunch and although it's not cheap the food was top drawer.
We went to this site on a recommendation, and it was absolutely fantastic, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the hardstanding pitches were perfect.
Toilets and showers were spotless, mops and cloths are left for you to wipe around if you make a mess, family bathroom has a bath, toilet and sink and hairdryer, this is also spotlessly clean.
Washing up areas are all under cover as are the recycling area, all kitchen areas have microwave and freezer, there are bbqs to borrow also
There is a fenced off area with rabbits and chickens, again all very clean.
There are 2 swimming pools, with sauna and steam room which can be hired out by the hour at a very reasonable £14 per hour
There are a couple of pubs in walking distance, but not much else, its a very quiet village
I can not find any fault with this site, and will definitely be returning
The site was very busy, however well kept, clean and tidy. There was no hot water in the small shower / toilet block, so we had to use the bigger one. Excellent bathroom for children, heated and spacious. Showers and toilets were first class. Used the babies pool during open hours, quite busy, but well managed although I thought it quite expensive at £4.25 per adult and £1 for my grandson aged 18 months! There's a little area with rabbits and chickens by the large shower block. The playground was well kept, but not really suitable for very small children. I believe every pitch had hook ups. Although when we tried to boil a kettle it tripped the switch, but was OK for the coolbox. Good well stocked shop on site, even had a small selection of tents for sale and anything you would probably need. Nice pub within walking distance. Close to Burford, Bourton on the Water, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Oxford etc etc. No road noise, but some plane noise - quite close to RAF Brize Norton. We would highly recommend this site, and will definitely visit again.
Great site, very friendly staff and the pools are great. Very reasonably priced. The kids loved the open space to kick a football. The toilets are spotless and the pitches very well maintained. I could see some of the pitches being a problem for bigger units but we managed to get in with a twin axle no problem.
We arrived on site and found the reception staff friendly and everywhere looked immaculate.
The hardstanding pitch allocated was a bit small but we liked the privacy hedging.
The toilets were spacious and had music playing, but the biggest disappointment for me was they were the preset temperature, push button type and the pressure was poor. In the smaller of the two blocks, the water was very hot and they only lasted for a short time.
When we visited, teenagers were hanging around the park and toilet block in the evening, drinking and using language I did not want my four year old to hear. The wardens assured us they were trying to find out who was doing this. We also had problems with children messing around in the toilet blocks, but stern notices were placed on the toilet doors the following days.
The best part about the site is hiring the indoor pool for an hour. It felt luxurious having the pool to ourselves. We also had a gorgeous sunday lunch at the Black Horse pub just up from the site. Excellent value and advisable to book.
The previous reviews have been excellent, so perhaps we were just unlucky on our visit. All in all, I would not return to this site. I found security lapse and whilst everywhere looks well kept, I found it lacked atmosphere.
Just got back from a week at this site and found it excellent - just like other comments. We were in the Spinney (tent field) which was a nice section of the site with plenty of trees along the edge giving some shade and shelter.
We were spoilt with the hot weather though as this is the first time we have been camping in the last few years where the tent did not get wet once the whole time we were away and we didn't have to check the guy ropes in the gale force winds at night!.
We paid for private rental of the pool on a few occasions which was superb for £17 (larger pool) and £14 (slightly smaller pool) for an hour with the use of the sauna and jacuzzi.
The site is very quiet after 11'ish so we all slept well.
We have a very large Wynnster Antares 9XP tent which did fit in our pitch but we had to pitch it sideways on. However, this turned out well as we got the evening sun right into the front of our tent. I notice that they don't allow gazebos so that may be a concern for some campers!
There are a couple of pubs within walking distance but we visited the Rose Revived a couple of times which is a little further away, about 2 miles away, but would highly recommend it. Beautiful setting on the River Windrush and excellent quality food!
Stayed 2 nights at short notice. The welcome was warm & friendly and our pitch (standard but better than some 'luxury') was superb (In the Spinney, a lovely quiet corner). Facilities were spotless and a pleasure to use even if only to listen to the music! Good bus service to Oxford, Witney & Abingdon from outside the site and free for us oldies. Loads of hot water for washing up and numerous disposal points.
As we didn't bring any children, we can't comment on the facilities, but there seemed to be plenty to do. Good for dogs, too, as there is a marked 'doggy walk'.
