Lovely site, staff were very friendly and helped in any way they could. Enjoyed the on-site fish and chips van (Friday pm only) and then the cooked breakfast van (weekends only I think). We both enjoyed morning swims in the indoor pool (£4 per adult).
Site is really well kept, but be sure to read the long list of restrictions to make sure you don't break any of the rules.
Our pitch was rather narrow, so we had to squeeze our car onto the front of the pitch with no room for an awning. If you want an awning and a larger pitch I would recommend that you ring and speak to one of the reception staff, otherwise the computer allocates your pitch on the basis of the length of your outfit.
Close to Oxford, and some nice walks in the vicinity (Thames Path was closed close to the site while a pub is renovated). Good range of food shops within easy striking distance, and the reception had a modest range of essentials.
There was a small gym and a games room which we didn't use, and a nice looking children's outside play area. Dogs (up to 3?) are accepted without additional charge, but you will pay for everything else. Grounds are immaculate, as were the toilet facilities.
Some of the surrounding roads can be a bit narrow (we managed) and if you arrive at a busy time you might be in some difficulty as the approach road is not very long and you could be backed up onto the main road through the village, which might not go down too well.
You don't get to chose a pitch - one is pre-allocated, so they ask that the driver does the checking in to ensure that he/she knows were to go.
You will have to wait for others positioning their vans/vehicles as the roads on the site are single track with no passing places.
Situation really good as a bus stop outside the gates, good shopping in Witney. Good walks to pubs one of which just outside the site.
We have a 6m Motorhome which didn't really fit on pitch 48, also paid for hardstanding which to be fair it was but had to drive across grass to it. This was okay on the way in but crowded on the way out. Had to drive between a pushchair and pitched awning.
Very busy site when kids are off mid week more quiet, plus some of the pitches are much bigger than other which people book ahead. via mobile
Great site, very welcoming and nothing too much trouble, we arrived and wanted to swap pitches with our friends so the doors on our units would face each other, this was no problem.
The swimming pools are lovely and can be hired for sole use, as well as having open swimming times as well.
The site has a great play area which our friends daughter loved visiting.
The grounds are well kept and maintained as are the toilets and shower block.
There was no noise late at night, even though the site was busy over the weekend.
Local bus service stops outside the site as well as having lots of local walks.
We had the pleasure of four nights at this site, and have to say we couldn't fault it.
From the booking to arrivals, all well organised and easy.
The quality of the shower block and cleanliness was amazing, nice and warm, music playing, very spacious shower cubicles with plenty of hooks, a sink, seat and decent shower pressure made for a comfortable shower.
The site itself is flat, nicely landscaped, with mature willows and other trees. Our pitch was spacious with room for caravan, awning and car, reliable electric, and subtle lighting.
Barrier controlled access added a bit of peace of mind.
The only thing I could possibly comment on in a negative way was the water pressure at the freshwater stand pipes around the site, it did take an age to fill out water container!
Apart from that slight inconvenience a pretty much perfect site.
Great play area for the children, and reception area was great, lots of info, and very friendly staff.
We didn't use the swimming pool, so can't comment on that, but we did use the park and ride at Oxford for a day of site seeing. And would highly recommend the Red Lion pub about two miles away, we went twice in the evening and had amazing meals on both occasions for a very reasonable price.
So for us a great stay and we would recommend this site as good value for money and excellent quality of facilities. via mobile
Loved this site. Really well kept in a beautiful setting, with good sized pitches.
Facilities great, not all open due to Covid-19, but toilets and outdoor facilities immaculate.
Had a lovely, friendly check in with Sarah. Unfortunately my husband had to be taken to hospital whilst on site. Sarah, Andrea and Darren were wonderful, very supportive and kind, offering practical assistance.
Would recommend this lovely site to anyone, and hope to visit again. via mobile
One of the best sites we have ever had the pleasure to visit. Wonderful welcome from Sarah and prior to that her lady assistant was also extremely helpful over the phone when we changed our dates slightly to visit before the second national lockdown.
Obviously the swimming pools and leisure facilities were closed due to the dreaded Covid. Shower and toilet facilities were spotless.
Everything about this site is perfection and The Black Horse Pub a few yards away is also excellent. Sad we had to leave before the site had to close for 4 weeks but can’t wait to return.
A truly exceptional site in a beautiful area with close proximity to The Cotswolds. via mobile
What a beautiful site. Such a lovely welcome from the owner, providing lots of information regarding the site facilities, expectations due to Covid 19 to keep us and everybody else safe.
Sadly, due to the restrictions, the pool/ gym/ games room wasn't available, but this is for everybody's safety. Strolled around the site, very well laid out, very well kept.
We had our dog with us and we were located with the dog walk immediately behind us, although there was an addition of access to a neighbouring field for the dog to have a good run.
The site shower block is absolutely spotless.
Recycling on the site is encouraged. Fabulous fish and chip van located on site on Saturday, absolutely scrumptious. Some beautiful walks within close proximity of the site.
Good accessibility to various places to visit. We used park and ride to visit Oxford.
Highly recommend you to visit this site, you will not be disappointed. via mobile
Nice place with friendly, helpful staff. Some of the pitches are a bit tight but this helps give the place a non commercial feel. Our stay coincided with their Halloween/ fireworks/ end of season event, meaning there was a marquee with a band, a few mobile food vendors and a firework display. Had the feeling of a small festival and was very good.
The shower/toilet block Is nice with very good shower cubicles with a good space to hang your clothes and dry off. Kept nice and clean but there was a bit of a drainy smell on a couple of my visits. Showers are of the push button variety but gave a good amount of shower time per push, something some other sites could take note of.
Toilet and grey water waste is at the black of the block by the potwash and the recycling bins. The grey waste is above ground level, anyone who's tried to lift and empty a full wastemaster will know how hard this makes things. I'm assuming there are other waste water points on site but I never used them
There's a small games room with table football and some "retro" (for retro read dated) arcade machines, a nice way to spend an hour.
We like the place. It was a very wet weekend when we were there, I think it would be lovely during the summer and as it's only a 40 minute drive for it's ideal for a weekend bolthole, we'll be visiting on several occasions next year I think.
My only negative is the swimming pool set up. We never used it and I'm sure it's very nice but the reason we didn't use it was down to the bizarre opening policy. the pool is open for 1 hour in the morning and the same in the evening and £4 per person is a little steep for what it is. If you want to use it any other time you need to make a private booking (also not cheap) and again, you're restricted to an hour. It's nice that they have a pool but with such limited access it would seem to be for the few, not the many. via mobile
Lovely site very clean and well kept friendly welcome from staff, has a health spa with two pools for a small charge, fish chip van Thursdays and Piza Fridays.
The best facilities ever 5 stars
Only negative was many pitches are under trees and the dropping make a right mess of awning and van, but
They will clean.
Highly recommend this fab site.
Windrush walk to new bridge 2. 5miles is lovely straight from site, and easy walk to village pub
