Just returned from a two night stay over the Whit bank holiday weekend with my husband and two small children (1 and 4). We booked onto the non-electric pitch field and were so disappointed by the poor condition of this field - knee high grass, no water points and an extremely poor and deteriorated 'road'. Such a shame that this lack of the very basic facilities really lets the park down, as the park itself was great. The toilet block and washing facilities in the adjacent electric hook-up field were clean and warm despite the poor weather and tons of mud about. The staff were all friendly, helpful and courteous, the pool and show bar were great - kids entertainment was well planned and delivered very well.
I hope the park takes note of these points as this is the worst non-electric camping field we have ever stayed on in the many years we have been camping. We wont be returning due to the high price of pitching in this awful field.

BRILLIANT STAY. 2 adults and 1 son (11) went for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Great entertainment for the kids in day and night. Swimming pool the best we have seen and with the extra advantage of the total wipeout course my son loved it. Toilets and showers was the cleanest we have stayed at any camp site. Staff very helpful and cannot wait to return in july. Great time was had by all.

Being coming to ty mawr for the last 30 years for touring and camping holidays, its a great location and is good for the kids.
In this time I've never had to go in the office to complain about anything until this year, we've stayed twice this year and have experienced nothing but trouble and silly rule changes on both occasions by new management and new security staff!
These changes will not work in a month of Sundays as one is your not allowed any more to take a commercial vehicle onto the touring/camping fields (except for loading/unloading).
Anybody with a brain knows this wont work as hundreds of people come here in the works van touring or camping and generally keep everyday camping items or clothes etc etc in there vehicle and walking back up to the reception car park to get a toilet roll out of your vehicle for example isnt going to happen!
Another gripe was when we left the caravan here for a week and only to return at the weekend after a long drive to find are electric lead being taken, we discovered this was by a new head of security person who failed to see the bright green ticket in the window with the details on!
Could of done without any of this as we just wanted to get in the caravan-turn the tv on and chill out-but was just meet by a unfamiliar security woman accusing us of not paying the site fees-after she was proven wrong my electric lead was thrown back at me and without an apology
Many different staff at the moment so obviously must not be a good staff/team spirit going on but I always found it v good before.
We said we weren't coming again and have already booked holidays at haven-prestatyn sands as were so disappointed.
My advise to anyone thinking of going camping/touring at tymawr is not to if your going in any commercial vehicle weather its a mini van or a lwb sprinter as I certainty wont be! (I'm a vauxhall corsa van owner just for the record)

Well I have to say my experience this time was a pleasant one.
Having visited this site before I was concerned about returning to their touring pitches for a second visit, but thought I would take the change, & I am glad I did.
Arrived at the Park, finding somewhere to park is a bit difficult with a touring unit, but we managed after a bit of a drive into the Park.
Popped into reception staff very polite & attentive, advising us how to get to our Pitch on The Warren, where we could & couldn't pitch.
Drove around until we found our pitch choice.
Having setup, we did the usual & checked out the facilities, the toilet & shower blocks were both very clean, so of them having been modernised.
Fresh water points & Elsan points clearly marked and keep in a clean state.
Noticed there was a cleaner nearly all day going between the two blocks.
Pool facilities, although the Pool appeared to need a bit of a clean around the water’s edge, it was fine the changing & showering facilities do need upgrading & increasing.
Entertainment, only stayed for the kids part, this was due to the very loud speaker system, found it hard to talk to each other, but the kids entertainers were great.
Didn't eat on site but heard others saying that the food in the diner was good & a good price too, this would depend on personal budget I suppose.
We were advised not to eat at the on site Chip shop but to use the one across the road which had a 5 Star Environmental rating.
All in all I found the site well looked after, polite staff & great to meet new friendly campers.
I will definitely return to this site in the future.

Just returned after Bank Hol weekend and where do is start. Stayed at easter and thought things weren't too bad but as stated in other reviews, its seems to be worse.
The pitches on the meadows aren't marked out so it is a free for all with people taking as much space as they want. Toilets were cleaned once a day and the mens had sinks and loos out of action, not good when the place is full. Very little hot water for showers or pots. Swimming pool overcrowded and then a queue for the changing cubicles.
Childrens entertainment cancelled without even the staff knowing for the football and queues of between 15 and 20 people at the bar. 4 bar staff for about 350 people is inadequate to say the least.
But worst of all is the noise levels from some of the campers. 4. 45am and still going at it at top voice. They had been there for the summer and thought they owned the place. 24hr security patrols and noise curfews were a joke.
Will not be returning.

Stopped here with my two kids aged 8 and 5 for two nights (friday and saturday). Reception were helpful and I was told I would be on the meadows non electric field. The pitches were flat and the grass was short but there are no facilities in this field (you can pitch where you like). In the electric field (next door)there are portacabins with showers and toilets which were clean and tidy but only around 5 of each for hundreds of campers. Also I could not find an elsan point. The kids enjoyed the entertainment and the pool (which is clean) although there were some overly boisterous kids in the pool which the lifeguards were reluctant to sort out as they advised me they were 'static owners' kids. Also the pool is a quite small and gets very busy. The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. The worst thing about it was some of the campers partying all night and being extremely noisy. Also it is always windy here. This was my second visit and I wont be returning.

We stayed over the last weekend before school started not a bank holiday weekend. Over packed with tents. Dirty loos, showers, bins overflowing. The pool was good with a slide, but this is the only good thing I can say about this site. Did not use the club house at all. Good playground for the children. As you can see from my other reviews about other sites I don't write bad ones but ......

Just returned from a w/e break with the grand-children. We chose this site because it's local to us and had facilities for the children even if it is poor weather: pool, amusements, entertainment etc.
To be honest we had no illusions and low expectations, as its not the sort of place we would normally stay and, to be fair, it lived up to them!
Children's entertainment for under 5's was a black dragon called 'Narky' (I think!) with a young male compere who came up with such gems, when organising the games as '. Spread you arms out, and if you can touch the person next to you pick their nose and taste it to see what they had for dinner!' ???????WHAAT? And '. Come on everybody, let's all pretend to trump!' Kids entertainers, eh? Still the winners got a paper sticker, so mustn't grumble!
All the games were around dances/quizzes on the dance floor with winners getting yep, you guessed it - a paper sticker!
The beer was a bit more expensive but you expect to pay more on holiday don't you?
The pitch was basic hook-up and a threadbare mud square which was big enough to park the caravan and car but we managed to keep most of the mud out of the caravan, so shouldn't moan really ; waste disposal could prove tricky for elderly or infirm guests as you have to physically lift your cassette and waste water container on to it to empty; I managed.
Shower and toilet block was clean and modern; water was only luke warm when I washed in there but had a shower at the pool so ok.
However, by far the worst issue was pet owners letting their dogs foul and not cleaning it up. I saw, not one but several instances of this; absolutely unexcusable and disgusting. Not the park's fault, but something really should be done about it; perhaps ban them or make them compulsory attend a course in how to respect the environment and the impact it has on other people? Managed to avoid most of the excrement around us(though grandson managed to tread in some. Arrgh!) so perhaps shouldn't be too harsh!

Just returned from 5 days at a cost of £85 with
Electric so we thought it was a bargain. We were pitched on the meadow and were told to go where we wanted so had a drive round first before deciding where to pitch. Not as busy as the Warren so we had loads of room for tent, kitchen plus car & trailer. Toilets and showers are portacabins but don't` let that put you off as they are as good if not better than most brick buildings on other sites. It rained for most of the week but we weren`t flooded so the drainage must be good.
We used the club and pool whilst there and the shop, which is well stocked, although there are both Tesco and Asda a short distance away. The only worry we had was a few caravans that looked like they could have been gypos, with the transit vans and numerous dogs, but they never bothered anybody so maybe we were a bit paranoid. There were a few lamp posts not working and a water point that was blanked off but a bit of maintenance would sort them out. A few too many speed humps around the site too but would go back

Just back from a family weekend at ty mawr north Wales in total we took 4 tents and manage to pitch them all together. Great site clean toilet and shower block with an attendant keeping things clean etc. The kids loved the park and arcade on site also the swimming pool. There is a large club for families although a little pricey when you have kids. There is also a nice little pub which serves meal.
Our only moan was the speed bumps around the camp leading to camping field You need a a 4x4 to clear them all four cars in our party experienced bangs not scrapped s as we drove over these stupidity sized bumps if its not happened yet it won't long before somebody cracks a sump or worse speaking to people in tourers and tents near our pitches they hads the same moan as they said its worse when your fully loaded on arrival and departure
Other than that our weekend was great and will go back pending speed bump issues
Oh and I must commend the security on our first a tent of rowdy young couples were told in no uncertain terms to keep it quite and respect fellow campers or your off 10/10 for these guys

Stayed over Easter after booking the day before! Check in was very good and even though we booked for the meadows we were told that it was pretty full and as we were in a party of two she advised we looked at the warren. So on the warren we pitched together and with no pitch markings we had plenty of space. The portacabin toilet blocks were warm clean and modern so no problem at all. We didn't use the shop but did use the pool, bars and chippy and found them all good. So for £24/night with awning use of the pool and all day entertainment it was good value BUT. The power was on and off for almost 18hrs and when we asked what the problem was the security man unleashed a torrent of abuse about everyone having the heating on! The other problem is that there is no Elsan point so people were emptying down the toilets with limited accuracy. All in all for peak season it was a bargain but if they upgrade the power and sort the Elsan it would be brill.

Just spent 2 nights at Ty Mawr, and enjoyed it.
As stated by others, there are 2 fields, and reception tell you were to go. I was on The Warren, which seemed to be where everyone was, except the one sole tent on The Meadows.
The Warren has 2 toilet blocks, which were nice and clean etc. They are also fairly well located, so nobody has too long a walk to make.
From what I saw while dog walking, the Meadows have portacabins, which are located in the middle of the field.
The pitches are not marked out. So it is a case of finding a space, and hoping nobody turns up and pitches too close too you during your stay.
Can not comment on the facilities, as I had a dog so could not use. Though the play area and pool looked quite good from passing.
The location is good for exploring and shopping. Buses are every 12 minutes in each direction up and down the coast. You have a Spar, Londis and Costcutter within walking distance (Spar being the closest). A short drive (or 50 minutes walking. I timed myself) will get you a Tesco in Abergele. Or you have an Asda in Kinmel Bay.
You do of course have an on site shop. But I didn't use this, so don't know how prices compare to the above mentioned options.
Check in was a really quick process. A quick check if I had been before, and then given my welcome pack.
This includes a label to tie to your guyline. I am guessing this proves you have paid etc. Though they do have a habit of sliding down the guy to floor level. And also being just paper, I can't see them lasting long in the rain.
Security seem to patrol fairly often in their vans. And can be seen walking around checking/looking for these labels on guylines daily. I had mine checked within 5 minutes of arriving at my pitch.
Overall, a really nice site. One that I am already planning on revisiting some time soon.

Visited over Easter weekend. Weather was very cold but nice and dry and site is in a great location for lovely days out. We went to dyserth falls and great Orme and colwyn bay. All great.
The site and its staff are truly awful. I suppose you get what you pay for, but they don't even get the basics right.
On meadows field Toilet block. Was porta cabins, clean enough. There was no chemical toilet emptying point. Pitches not marked and people way too close. Electric always going off.
Bouncers on club door, club house filthy, noisy. Why do they need bouncers??? Well a lot of the clientèle are so badly behaved its no wonder. The outdoor play area stank of weed and when entering the club house one of the bouncers asked my 14year old if he was Pissed!
Pool filthy and freezing.
Eating out. There isn't much about. Towyn is a dump as is rhyl but we found the best chippy in pensarn. Robs chippy, brilliant fish n chips
You have to be off site by10am and at 9. 55 we had 'security ' driving over to remind us. Believe me we couldn't get away quickly enough!
Don't waste your money or risk your safety

This is the second time we have stayed here this year and unfortunately the last due to the noise caused by some inconsiderate people.
There is 2 fields where you can camp on and its reception who tell you what field you are on, the field we were on there is 2 shower and wash blocks and both are in need of a update (Park Resorts please take note!). They are clean when the cleaner has been in them but yet again you get some inconsiderate people who don't care and leave them a mess.
Pitches are a good size but unfortunately are not marked out which could cause a problem when its busy. There is security which patrol the park but in my case was not often enough. We didn't use any of the park facilities due to having a dog with use so I cant comment on them.
The area is good for exploring, Conway and Llandudno isn't far away and a must is Betws Y Coed, a lovely village with a lovely water fall.
We will return to the area again has its great for exploring but not at this campsite again unfortunately.
