We can honestly say this is probably the best caravan site we have been to in over 10 years of caravanning. The grounds were perfectly manicured, the staff were lovely and friendly, the location was great and the animals in particular were an additional bonus as we are 'animal mad'!
The shower facilities were spotless and the shop was adequate for basic supplies but also had a good selection of unusual wooden toys at a very reasonable price.
We are definitely returning soon to experience the site in the Summer months, and we think there is a bar open then too, another added bonus!
First stayed here for 2 days early August, since then we have been back 4 times.
Allun and his wife are what wardens should be on a site the other wardens are very nice too.
The shower blocks are very clean the park is kept to a very high standard and that's why we are going back next week, well done to the owners for the shop which is stocked with the farm fresh meat.
Cost: £19 plus £3 EHU plus £3 dog= £25. Too much in my book!
We stopped here for one night because it was the only place I could find with space on a Friday (even though it says there is a 2 night minimum stay at weekends, they don't seem to strictly enforce this).
The site is big, the staff we encountered were all friendly, with some chaps even lending us an EHU cable as ours wasn't long enough. Animals are really nice, and there is a good size dog exercise field and walk to the local pub.
There is also a bar on site which looked nice enough. Plenty of toilets and showers, and washing up points which I am always grateful for. Entrance is via a barrier which the staff in reception need to open for you, or if you plan to go off site they will issue you with a fob (but see below).
We don't have children but there was loads of space and a decent looking playground area.
Drawbacks:
The shower was a power shower so I had high hopes, but it seemed to go from scalding to freezing with hardly any time at a bearable temperature. The pressure was not great either.
Wi-fi did NOT work AT ALL ANYWHERE on the site. I raised this with the guys working in the bar but there was nothing they could do. I really would have appreciated a partial refund on this basis, as wi fi is the only reason I paid way over the odds for this site.
Extra fee for dog (£3 a night). Ridiculous, she's not using the shower or the washing up facilities! I really wish campsites would stop charging for dogs, it's insane.
The stupid barrier. I went to ask her if she could let me out, she raised the barrier but by the time I got back to my car it had gone down again! I beeped my horn and some staff milling about gave me real evil eye for ruining the peace, sort yourselves out then ha ha! Just who on earth do you think is coming in to pinch a camping spot?! Daft.
We travelled to this site on a Friday evening of the bank holiday weekend and unfortunately got caught up in terrible traffic. I telephoned the site to check the closing time and explaining our dilemma. The chap I spoke to at the site was really helpful and said he would wait for us to arrive even though it was going to be about 1 hour after closing time- I thought this was a great gesture on his part.
The site itself is beautiful, well laid out with lots of space for everyone. There was a smashing park for my 9 year old to play on, and a good area near our caravan for playing football.
As it was bank holiday weekend the toilet blocks and showers were busy but clean and tidy and modern. We walked to the pub which was about 15 minutes away and an easy walk across fields.
The highlight of our stay for my son and husband was the fishing. They caught easily a dozen fish per day !The ponds were in close proximity to the camping fields, pretty and well kept.
During our stay we visited Waddeson Manor ( National Trust) which was amazing and also used the park and ride facility to get into Oxford CityCentre.
I found the site via the Internet, and I don't think the web site does it justice- it really is a beautiful site in a lovely spot. We will definitely return.

Stopped here for 3 nights into the New Year. Not all facilities were open but that's to be expected. Games room and shop were closed. The owner was very helpful and polite. The Toilet/shower block was very clean and heated.
The men's 2 shower rooms were very large (you could swing a cat in there). Ducks and chickens freely roamed about the place which was nice. This is a working farm but this was not an issue. There is some noise from passing trains and some aircraft but it's minimal and didn't disturb us at all. Pitches were slightly sloped.
Though it rained most of the time, we didn't notice any shops/pubs within easy walking distance. The closest grocery shop was about 5 minute drive at a M&S attached to a petrol station. Was a good 4G signal and free wifi password on request. TV reception was also good.
We would not hesitate to call here again in the future.
We limped in on Saturday with engine trouble. We couldn't have asked for a better find to be stranded in. Huge thanks to Tanya and Sam the wardens who helped us out in so many ways. All very much appreciated.
Beautiful site, enjoyed all the animals. Couple of catches on the fishing pond were a highlight.
Facilities excellent, clean, spacious, well laid out. Fantastic showers. Liked the spacious hard stand and grass for each pitch.
Noticed other comments about the railway and airport. Somewhat mystified. Yes they were apparent but certainly not intrusive. We live in a rural part of the Scottish Highlands so are easily disturbed by noise and traffic, but found this site very peaceful.
If our travels ever bring us back to this part of the world Greenhill is definitely where we'll by staying.
The grounds and facilities at this site are excellent. The pitches are a good size and well maintained with grass and hard standings in good condition, with delightful trees and bushes dividing the plots. The toilet blocks (all three) are good, well maintained and clean, with excellent sized showers - enough room to swing your towel!
We visited Oxford (university and Ashmolean), Blenheim Palace, Upton House and had a couple of walks along the canal. All were very pleasant, but the area, like the rest of the south east, is too crowded for our tastes.
We had two issues with the staff. On arrival the wardens were rather brusque (perhaps they were having a hard day) and we had to press for basic information like where the water etc was. On the second day we were asked to park our car on the hardstanding instead of the grass. There was not really enough room for this, so the car encroached on the road, and when sitting in our caravan instead of admiring the grass, trees and dry stone walls we had to look at the side of our car!
When we use minimum facility sites on farms, the presence of farm animals causes us no concern. On a site like this we wondered about the health aspects of free ranging ducks, geese and chickens, who leave evidence of their presence speckled all over the grass, hard standings and roads.
We all have our tolerance levels. Overall the combination of road noise, train noise and aircraft from the local airport exceeded our limits by a long way.
The campsite is as we like it. All facilities are ok. The stuff is polite and helpful. They are very tolerant concerning arrival an departure. No wonder if you see the huge area. We now come here with our motorhome from Germany to visit Oxford and the hearest locations like Blenheim castle since more than seven years. Nearest supermarket is a Tesco in Bicester.
So, all seams to be for the best. But one thing does not work since it is existing: the internet access, WiFi. You can do nothing with that wrong programmed product. Much more than the Greehill website is not available.
The web is extremely important for us to be in contact with our business.
We are very sad, that we can no more visit that great site because of that lack, what the owner does not repair.
We stopped here on route to Derbyshire, and since our VW camper doesn't yet have cooking facilities we wanted a site with a restaurant or cafe.
The site is very well looked after, and clearly a successful business. The facilities are in good condition, with lovely large shower rooms. The on-site cafe/bar was very nice, child-friendly, and served quite a wide variety of good-quality food and soft and alcoholic drinks. There is a large area for children to play in, with various things to climb on useful for a range of ages.
The hard-standing plots have electrical hook-ups, water taps and grey-water drains. The plots slope a bit from front to back, but standard levelling blocks were just about enough to get our camper level. Tents have grass plots, and these are more level. There are well-kept hedges between plots, and shrubby bushes dotted around too, which looks much nicer than just a big open field.
The only minor confusion was when, having checked in, we were told to 'follow Fred' (may have been another name) without it being clear who Fred was. So we failed to drive through the electronic gate until 'Fred' had parked his cart and trailer and opened it again. Next time we'll know to follow anyone with a dark green top on who is heading into the campsite through the gate!

A very well kept, tidy site set in beautiful countryside. Large well defined pitches with EHU and water taps/grey waste drains near by. Three toilet/showers blocks, very modern and clean. Dog walking area on site and access to lots of public walkways nearby. Small shop and restaurant on site with reasonably priced meals. Reasonable price for a campsite but extra charge for dogs.
Only stopped one night on the way to Northamptonshire but would definitely stay again if in the area. It is about a mile or so walk to the nearby village with a nice pub.
Lovely clean site and first class amenities, very handy for Blenheim Palace, Oxford and the Cotswolds. Take the canal path to Oxford about 9 miles, stopping at Annies for a cup of tea and then catch the bus back. Lots for the children to do and fishing available on site. The on site restaurant was quite noisy and there wasn't a lot of choice but it served the purpose.
First time here and will not be the last. We stayed in 'the Orchard' which I believe is one of the rally fields with electric hook-up. Grass well cut and did not need to use ramps. We are Caravan Club members and have stayed on many unlevel pitches with them before so could not see other users complaint. Showers the biggest I have seen. Plenty of hot water and very clean. Husband disabled and toilet facilities excelent for him too. Staff very helpful and visited the cafe too. Red Kites flying over head and a beautiful sight to see close up. Will definitely be going back and telling all our caravan friends about this site. Praise where it is due.
Just returned from a weekend at this site. It was our third time here and I have to say it was excellent. They have made some changes and improvements since we were last here and apparently they have more planned. They have upgraded the kids play park, moved the shop and reception to a new, larger location and added a café/bar. We tried the café for a meal and found it to be good, also had a couple of drinks there. We found the prices quite reasonable for a family of four and the shop prices were also very competitive. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful, as we always have to be honest. We didn't leave the site while we were there, so won't comment on any of the surroundings, except to say that the site itself is in a great location and we found it very peaceful with great views over the open countryside.
All in all we had a good time and will be definitely be returning in the near future.
We stayed over the Easter break for 9 days. The site itself was nice, but a lot of the pitches are un-level so bring plenty of blocks if your in a motorhome. Its generally a well looked after site and the staff are polite.
The site is in a noisy location, as it's in the flight path of the local airport and it has a railway line near by. This did not bother us.
Please be aware that if you use this site, that it is also used by contractors that are up and about early and have no consideration for holiday makers. Although the rules of the site are NO noise from 11pm to 7 am, we were woken up every working morning with cars driving past from 5. 20am, driving to and from the toilet blocks with no consideration for people on holiday. I did speak to the owner about the problem, but was told it was probably the contractors. They were not interested in sorting the problem. We ending up leaving erlier than planned due to this problem.
