My wife and I stayed at this site for 3 nights, two of which we were the only unit on site! We paid just £30 for those 3 nights. Delighted with the location and the ancient church next door. The proprietors were pleasant and sociable. Toilet facilities were basic, yet satisfactory: indeed, my wife was also watched by a swallow while performing her ablutions!
We used this campsite as a base to visit other local attractions, such as Stackpole Head and St. Govan's Chapel, also exploring the historic town of Pembroke.
Our only complaint is about the military exercises only a couple of miles away! We do appreciate the need for training before our brave troops go to foreign conflicts, yet we did not expect the explosions and small arms fire for two of the three days we spent on this site! Indeed, the noise didn't cease until midnight! It must be said, however, that the pyrotechnic displays were spectacular! Also, because of the military training we were unable to access the Pembrokeshire Coast Path until the last evening.
None of this impacted on our holiday and we would happily recommend this site and location.
What a lovely farm site. Our party was 2 adults, a 2yr old and two 17 week old puppies! We stayed here Aug bank holiday weekend and had a great time. The fields were very muddy due to the great welsh weather, which was explained to me when I phoned to book. The owners however were very helpful with their tractor if needed! We had a 4x4 so it didn't bother us at all.
We were welcomed when we checked in and were shown to our pitch. Although we could have moved if we wanted to the pitch was great. There are plenty of water taps, electric hook ups, an elsan disposal, rubbish recycling. We were shown all these facilities upon arrival. The owners then said they would go and leave us alone for the rest of our stay but are around if we needed anything.
There are 2 showers on site which were basic but clean, only prob was the mud from the site but that didn't bother us at all. There were 3 unisex toilets all in different cubicles which were clean with plenty of loo roll. They had washing up facilities, fridge, freezer and a microwave for use by all. These were all kept nice and clean.
A couple of miles down the road is Bosherston lily ponds, a fab walk for the dogs and kids! Which leads to a gorgeous beach, Broad Haven(South). A visit to the Olde Tea Rooms in Bosherston is a must for proper tea, with a tea strainer! and fab home made cakes.
This is a lovely peaceful site. No noise after dark so we had a nice relaxing time.
The description of site has been covered in previous review. It is a very simple site with toilet units, showers available. A real plus on the site was the use of a fridge.
We had a weeks stay here and found the location ideal to visit some wonderful Pembrokeshire beaches. Site did turn rather muddy due to our very wet visit but owner responded well and this did not alter our thoughts of this site.
We will use this site again for its location, quiet site and friendly owners.
A very pretty little site - just under 3 miles from Pembroke town.
We stayed in the smaller caravan field which felt like staying in a garden. In fact it may once have been the Rectory garden? As it is situated between The Rectory farmhouse and the church.
Beautiful shrubs and flowers around and high hedges which protected from the wind.
The camping field was a little bit more open to the breezes but had lovely countryside views and the sea in the distance.
There were three toilets housed in old stone buildings. Always kept clean but could have done with some ceiling boards to hide the cobwebs in the rafters.
The 2 showers were housed in another farm building which also had washing up sinks and a fridge/freezer for campers use.
The showers were always lovely and hot.
Again, the room could have done with cleaning away of cobwebs and perhaps a white wash of the walls and the windows cleared of cobwebs and dead flies etc
But these are small niggles considering this is a basic farm site and at £14 per night with EHU one cant complain too much.
We had a lovely welcome from one of the owners who showed us where everything was and helped us choose a pitch. After that we were more or less left lone to enjoy our week.
The site is a little bit off the beaten track - nearest shops in Pembroke and larger supermarkets in Pembroke Dock.
Best beaches are Freshwater West and Angle.
We also enjoyed day trips out to Carew Castle and Cresswell Quay.
There's a nice walk around the mill pond at Pembroke castle and along the river full of swans and ducks.
We had a lovely week at this site. The weather was quite good considering the summer we have had and the site was so nice in such a lovely setting that we enjoyed spending lots of time on the site itself. We would be happy to stay on this site again.
We stayed here for a week in and really enjoyed it. The campsite is very basic, it has 3 toilets, 2 showers (which are free to use) and it provides a microwave, fridge freezer and washing up facilities and if you ask at the farmhouse, bread, milk and a paper.
My brother had stayed here before and recommended it for our yearly group camping with me, the husband, my brother and sister with my mum, nan and aunt coming to visit for the day.
When we arrived we walked up to the farm house to pay and found them very friendly and helpful,
there wasn't many people camping there when we arrived and we were able to get a nice pitch in the corner on our own, by mid week we were the only ones there and had the run of the campsite.
We had beautiful views of the sea, church, range and surrounding country side and the site, although secluded, is only a short drive from docks and milford havon and local beaches/coves, with the best being Angle and Freshwater west.
There was a good co op in Prembroke and tesco and morrisons in Pembroke docks, so you don't have to go far for supplies. There were also plenty of pubs and cafes which served really nice food and on the only night it rained, we had take out pizza which was nice as well.
The facilities were cleaned every day and are adequate for the size of the site. The showers are nice and hot with enough room in, not only the shower area, but in the changing bit as well.
The 2 washing up sinks are again adequate with proper taps (the sites I have been to before had been push taps). The fridge freezers are a fantastic idea but you must make sure you mark your bag and the microwave is clean and means if you are like us, you are not weather dependant when it comes to cooking and can have pretty much anything.
The site owners were really friendly and were really helpful when the day trippers came up. I will add that as this is a farm site you can encounter large spiders! But despite this it is a fantastic place to visit and we will definitely stay again!
