August 2004 End of august bank holiday - Not very impressed
As mentioned by other post very close to the main Chichester bypass constant traffic noise too much.
Permanent pitches in far side of touring field noisy (arrived back at their pitch at 1 am and proceded to have a party with music blasting out of their car).
Security not bothered until actually asked to do something.
Gang of kids(about 8 of them) wandering around gone 1.00am.
Shop poor, club rough and toilets ran out of Paper!
Sadly nothing like this place used to be.
Best parts.. the Walnut Tree Pub just down the road and the road out.

16/07/04 Just got back from camping for the weekend. Had an excellent time at this campsite. Loads of room to pitch your tent. The shower block was spotless, although there was no soap in the dispenser. The shop was not very good, because it never seemed to be open when we needed stuff. The club house was great fun it had cheap beer, although not much choice and no local ales. It had live entertainment every night of the week. I would not recomend the cowboy themed resturant in Chichester, unless you are loaded. There are plenty of pubs in the town which sell resonably priced food. The swiming pool was tiny. They had some large lakes which could do with some padel'os in them. The locals have some strange rules for playing pool (they kept changing).

28/29/30th May 2004 Just spent the Bank Holiday on this site, yes the staff in reception are friendly, you get shown a site plan on the wall and then you are on your own, no information about site, where the clubhouse or swimming pool are, were the chemical and waste empty points are.
The camping field is spacious and flat to get to it from reception you have to first drive past the industrial part of the site, tractors, workshops, pile of cable drums and other junk, the electric hook up pitches are around the outside of the field, the middle of the site is for non electric hook ups, no pitches marked out just a free for all. There is no warden / manager to look after the touring site at all.
The toilet block appeared new and despite efforts of children playing in them (why do parents allow this) the cleaners did an excellent job keeping them clean.
Now the good bit, the chemical and waste water empty points are down the same drain, this drain is a toilet pan set in concrete and brick with no privacy fencing or anything around it. To empty your containers you have to lift them approximately 3 (Three) feet off of the ground. To top it all this facilty is placed in front of one of the electric hook up pitches, very healthy.
Also beware the pitch prices are very expensive for what you get 3 night over bank holiday with electric £51 : 00. I was talking to one camper who had been there for the week before and his pitch fee was £117 :00
It should be noted that the main part of this site is given over to static vans, this part of the site is very good, obvious where the effort goes.
The lakes are fine for walking and fishing, did not use the shop or club on site (they could not be bothered to give any information when booking in) so we went just up the road to Sainsburys for shopping and to local pubs for a drink.
In the area it has to be said are many excellent pubs and restaurants, Chichester is a very interesting town to explore as is Bosham and also the beaches in the area.
We would only return to this site if we were desperate to be in the area and nothing else was available.

august bank holiday weekend excellent park, very helpful staff. very clean toilets and showers, acres of space to camp! we spent 3 nights at this park and there is loads to do. 8 lakes if you like fishing. the clubhouse was a bit dodgy, and the shop only sold a select few things. lots to do in chichester city. lovely cathedral, and loads of places to eat out. especially at smith and wessons, great cowboy themed bar and restaurant, lovely food and great staff. if you turn right and follow the road out of the campsite there is a great pub called the willow tree,( i think that's what it was called)? they do amazing food and are very welcoming! we will definately be going back to this site. the only thing i didn't really like is the tent pitches are right next to a main road and it was like sleeping next to the m25! but the field was massive with loads of room for the kids to run and play!
