 Just spent 5 days camping there in the recent hot spell. Had an absolutely lovely time at this quiet little site, and were handily pitched under some trees which provided much needed shade during the day.
Helpful / friendly owner, good clean facilities, play area for our two girls in the evening.
A handy 5-minute walk into Lacock (to go to the general store for milk, bread, drinks etc), and a great location for trips to Longleat, Bath and all sorts of NT properties.
Also has wi-fi access in the reception.
Would definitely recommend, and return.

Spent 2 nights here (in very wet June!) en route from North Devon and home, in order to visit Lacock and Abbey. Easy walk to National Trust village, well worth a visit. Very interesting place. Plenty places to eat.
Site was immaculate, very helpful owner met us at reception and directed us to hardstanding pitch with hook up, we thought site was well drained considering how much rain had fallen.
Two toilet blocks - one looks brand new. Quiet site, would return. No complaints.

Our 2nd visit to Picadilly and this time we brought along some friends so hoped it would live up to our memories of a previous visit.
Booking was very efficient and Peter was great to respond to a few queries I had via email.
Since our last visit a wonderful new toilet and shower block had been installed. A great addition to the site.
The central location of the playground was great for our friends' children who we felt could play happily and safely there without us needing to always be with them.
We look forward to making a return visit.

We have stayed on this very pleasant and well located campsite many, many times and have never been disappointed.
The pitches are of very good size and everything is kept in excellent order by its helpful owner Peter. A recent addition of another shower block has given it a few more notches up to near the top of our favourite sites.
There is a great deal to do in the surrounding area and lots of eating and shopping facilities.
Although it is approached from a busy road we have never found the traffic noise too disturbing.
A thoroughly lovely place to stay.

What a cracking little site.
Just spent one night here after a week in Wales. On arrival were met by the owner/warden who was very pleasant and helpful, showed us to our pitch and gave us some very welcoming advice on the surrounding area.
From his recommendation we ate at The George in Lacock and had a very good meal.
The site is very deceptive and is bigger than it looks but very well laid out and spotless. All facilities were top rate.
This is one site we shall visit again and definitely spend more than one night.

This was our first ever camping trip so we didn't know what to expect. We were very impressed with the campsite, it was beautifully maintained and the facilities were very clean.
Our pitch was adjacent to the lane so there was a bit of traffic noise - but really just the odd tractor or two which is to be expected when you are in the countryside! A previous reviewer mentioned the traffic noise from the main road, we could hear it at night as a background hum but we didn't find this intrusive.
Our 2 boys, aged 2 and 6 had a great time and enjoyed the playground that is on the site.
There is a Sainsburys just 3 miles away and Lacock is just across the main road. Unfortunately we get the opportunity to sample the evening pub life so can't comment on any of the Lacock pubs.
We have already recommended the site to my parents who have just bought their first caravan.

This site was the most pleasant and least expensive one we encountered in our summer trip.
The check in was conducted quickly, efficiently and in a very friendly manner.
Our emplacement was just the right distance from an excellently appointed facilities block, amongst well tended gardens. The lighting was fine for our late night returns after socialising with friends in nearby Lacock.
The site is near a very busy road but the noise did not impede our enjoyment on the site but could be tricky when crossing to the village on foot or by bike.

I've just returned from a disappointing bank holiday weekend at the site, although I must say it is kept beautifully clean and tidy.
We stayed as two families, one ehu and one non-ehu, in adjacent plots (which is always good), with children, husband and 2 (lazy!) dogs.
Upon arriving, and whilst showing us to our pitches the owner gave us a long list of site do's and don'ts which wasn't the best start to a relaxing break with the family.
Having camped for a few years and at many sites, I'm used to tent 'v' caravan snobbery, but I felt this site was for 'elite caravanners' only, and those in tents were pushed to a back field out of sight. The owner also took an instant dislike to the fact I was a lone-parent family :-(
The play area on site is small, but perfect for my young children, however they needed to play quietly so as not to disturb other visitors, and this we were reminded of on many occasions. There is also a small ball games area, which whilst being a great idea, its actually out of sight from all the pitches, so the children were unable to play un-supervised.
The pitches for tents are located to the back of the site, on a sloping field, which we found very wet under foot, and it had very little drainage (the tent pegs didn't need much effort to place in the ground!).
I might have caught the owner on a bad weekend, (and we did choose to cut our break short by a day because of this) but from my experience I would say its a great site for mature touring couples who appreciate peace and quiet, and who would like to explore the Wiltshire countryside and its stunning local villages, rather than a site for young families who want a break whilst the children amuse themselves.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campsite, very friendly owner who does everything but allways time for a chat. Previously a farm that grew among other things, cucumbers, but now his crop is happy campers !
We chose this site for visits to the many archaeological locations and the weather helped us to enjoy our time here.
Road noise is a subject that crops up in a few comments here, but we were pitched in the field closest to the road and whilst it is noticeable, not sufficient to spoil a stay here.
Read a comment re the George Inn and good food, but we went to the one in Laycock by mistake don`t make the same mistake,
All in all a very nice campsite and we would love to return.

Well located site 300 mtrs off the main road. Public transport 10 min walk, with a frequent service to many local towns etc; The tent pitches that are
Not ehu, are in a very well mown, hedge screened square, Pitches with ehu have some screening from wind and weather.
Toilets, showers, washing facilities, sinks, although not brand new, are kept as clean as a new pin by the gentleman owner Mr Williams.
There is small play area for children, a dog walking area, and the pitches are of a good size.
I would use this site again when in the area, excellent value for money, I look forward to my next visit.

We've visited this site twice now, the first over the glorious Easter weekend and the 2nd for the late May bank holiday (weather not so good!).
This site suited us perfectly - our boys (5 and 6 1/2) loved the park and the ball games field - we liked this too as it means that the kids can play happily without being a nuisance to anyone else, and are still within view.
The facilities are good, plenty of hot water for showers and washing up - and we never had to wait for either despite the site being pretty busy. You can hear the road noise as it so quite on the site, but its not enough to cause inconvenience.
Lacock village is quaint and the abbey is worth a visit. Scarecrow hunt over the May bank holiday is good fun (even in the rain!).
The owner is very friendly and helpful, and keeps the whole site in pristine condition. Really lovely site and I'm sure we will be back again next year.

Stayed for 1 week, found site to be one of the best we have stayed at.
Shower/toilet block always clean.
Peter, site owner very pleasant always helpful.
Day before we left the site had quite a few units turn up for a rally, I was worried that the site would become very busy and noisy, how wrong I was. Found out this rally used the site most months. All very pleasant and by 9 o clock the whole site was deathly silent.
Small play area for kids
Good dog walking field at bottom of site
As some have said before, slight hum of traffic from local A road but not a bad thing to spoil time on this site, Bath close by
Did not eat at any local pubs, but did use local fish and chip shop 'Lee's' very good
All in all perfect for me,wife and to kids 6yrs loved park and 13yrs loved riding on his bike.
Will be back next year

The best camp site we have stayed in in the UK.
Well laid out with generous pitches, spotless toilets & a free freezer for ice blocks. Owner always available & most helpful with a nice sense of humour. Lacock within 5 minutes walk and many NT properties & Bath nearby.
The nearby Garden Centre (1/2 mile)which is open for breakfasts is vast and again one of the best we have visited.
Only one slight annoyance was the hum of traffic on the nearby 'A' road but this was not loud enough to spoil what was a very enjoyable stay.

This was our very first camping trip as a family, and we were recommended Piccadily by a friend. It turned out to be a good recommendation. The site is small and quiet with only 45 odd pitches, each clearly marked. There is one toilet block, kept very clean with excellent showers and pot washing facilities. The play area was appreciated by our kids, although it is not positioned centrally, being at one end of the camp. The ground itself was level and easy to erect our tent on. The area is ideally situated for day trips to Bath and Chippenham, with the National Trust village of Lacock within a mile or so. A large supermarket is within three miles of the site. A number of the pitches had electric hook-ups, for those requiring them. A great little site and one we will definitely return to.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Had a lovely time. Owner very helpful and friendly. Campsite very nice, lots of space between pitches. Beautifully laid out with lots of trees and bushes. Facilities at very centre of site so not far to go in middle of night. Showers great, hot water at any time of day or night and hot air blower on during evenings a nice touch.
Water taps dotted around site, so not far to go to fill up kettle.
Lots of leaflets in reception for nearby attractions.
Lacock is a short walk away and is very beautiful. Bath and Bristol are car drive away and again good days out.
Nice play area for children with swings etc and also field for playing sport like rounders.
Separate dog walking field.
Overall site great only draw back is close to RAF Lyneham and planes take of regularly thought day. But did not spoil our break.
Many thanks to Mr Williams who was a lovely host. Would visit again and will be telling friends to go soon.
