This site is well worth a visit, it is competitively priced and the facilities are A*. There is a well stocked shop on site which carries the usual essentials plus more.

There is the usual entertainments and bar which we did not use due to having such good weather during our stay. The food on site is also very good although we tended to eat off site the majority of the time.

The Hire shop is the best ever, we hired a fridge rather than get our blocks for the cool box frozen every day and at £20 for the week was well worth it. We also had a mishap with our inflatable mattress and yes we could hire one on site.

The Showers, toilet etc were well maintained and clean. And they were plenty avail. We didn't use the on site pool but a large number of families did and it is well maintained and clean. There is a golf course adjoining the site and 3 fishing ponds.

Holywell fun park is also right next door which can be a pain if you have children as it does get expensive. They have recently enhanced the site with new roads etc and upgrading a number of pitches to all weather premium plus pitches. Definitely a site worth going to.

The on site staff are friendly and very helpful. Would I go back. Most certainly.

A really good site it was fun for all the family. The facilities on the site were excellent including the toilet blocks, pool, park and much more.

The staff were very helpful with security guards patrolling around the site to make you feel safe. The entertainment at Trevornick was fun and the kids had a fab time!

A lovely walk to Holy Well Bay beach is highly recommended for adults and children. We will be coming back in August 2010. We all can't wait!

What more could you ask for? 1st class site. This was our third year to Trevornick and we love it here. Came down in August for 2 weeks and tied in with watching the Relentless Boardmasters Surf Festival. Stayed in Cornfield 410 away from most of the noise of the pool, arcades etc.
Welcomed with such friendly, warm faces on the Friday in the blistering sunshine and shown to our pitch by the chaps on the mopeds. Had plenty of room for our Outwell Nevada XL Tent (now upgraded to the Vermont L) and our car.
Toilet and shower blocks were always clean and well maintained, and the family bathrooms were a god-send. I have a little boy who is nearly two and the showers were too warm for him. Plenty to do on site, the pool is excellent as is the fun park, and Holywell Beach is only a small walk away.
My little boy never stopped, always on the go and exploring everything on the site. Very quiet at night as you aren’t near any main roads (unlike Hendra), and the security guards on patrol make you feel safer. The hire shop is a very good facility to have, we hired a high chair and a small freezer which proved invaluable. The site is very clean when you walk around, don't ever see any litter on the floor.
Had a stunning view every morning when we stepped out of our tent of the Gull Rocks and the Beach. The only negative I would pick out was the small park wasn’t very ‘baby friendly’ more for older children. Would be nice if their was a designated indoor play area for small babies/toddlers, i.E. Soft play etc.
All in all, can’t fault it, coming down again in August 2010 for another 2 weeks. Can’t wait, count down has already started, let’s hope for some glorious sunshine. Thank you Trevornick.

If you are into big sites with lots of facilities then this is the place for you, especially if you have children. We visited at the end of the summer holidays with our eleven year old daughter and 2 Labradors.

Exceptionally efficient system at reception when checking in and we were onto our pitch quite quickly.

We stayed on Red Field which is reserved for dogs (but not exclusively). We had a premium pitch (water point, hook-up, tv aerial connection with DVD channel) ample space for all our needs (the pitch next door had a huge tent with 6 or 7 people, a gazebo and 3 cars, so the size speaks for itself).

Having previously visited we remembered that it is generally windy so ensure you are prepared to tether everything down well.

Showers have been up-dated with sensor switch, never queued even though site was full. Plenty of hot water. Floors could get a bit grubby if wet underfoot outside but nothing really to grumble about of any significance.

Agreed with previous reviewer about the shop, they need to turn this into more of a mini-supermarket and get rid of some of the gimmicky stuff. They are missing a trick here because the nearest place to get groceries is a 10-15 minute drive to Morrisons in Newquay.

Nice cafe area if you want to eat in but also attached is a take away. You can take your take away into the clubhouse next door which is useful if you are with your children at the kids entertainment earlier in the evening. Try the Gull Rock bar for food, (its run separately on franchise)a bit dearer but far superior standard of catering - you get what you pay for.

Our daughter went to the kids club between 10 and 12 most days depending on what was happening, she felt some of the activities were really too young for her but joined in anyway. This years team were all really enthusiastic and hard working. In the evening they had a talent show, a fancy dress competition, award ceremony, ventriloquist and that was just the kids stuff! Bingo, singers, comediens, quizzes etc for the adults.

Loads to do here, golf, pitch and put, funpark, swimming pool, beach and coastal walks in abundance. Great walks for dogs with boundless energy (like our labs!) or 2 large fields on site reserved just for dog walking.

One of the best all round sites we have visited and won't hesitate to book up again.

We have just visited this site for 6 nights in a motorhome. We are a family with 2 children aged 7 and 4. It was brilliant! We knew of the site because friends have stayed there before and we visited them. Its a great all round park, especially for families.

Our pitch was on Yellow Field right near the shower block which was really handy (when I say our pitch, it was the second pitch we were on. Because we booked late we had to move pitches three times because they were almost fully booked - our fault not theirs - and it doesn't make much difference in a motorhome). Where we were was pretty level, although some pitches on the park are on a bit of a slope.

There was an outdoor pool which we used twice. It was really clean and had sunbeds on a decked area. (the only thing I would say about the pool is that the lifeguard needed to be more authoritative with some of the older kids). But its clean and safe and they also have adult swim two mornings a week.

At night time we visited the entertainment bar which we all really enjoyed. They had plenty of kids entertainment, bingo is on every day (not everyone's cup of tea I know but it only lasts 10 minutes and the cash prizes are pretty good. Over £200 most nights on the full house!

There is a shop on site which sells all necessities and also some other nik naks and bits and bobs. Not too badly priced. There was a restaurant too, we never ate there but it looked very clean and modern. We did use the take away bar for chips, and also jacket potatoes (but they don't know how to bake spuds very well)!

There is also a Fun Park next to the site, pretty costly but OK if you visit only once or twice. There is also a golf course but we didn't use that.

Holywell beach is a 10-15 minute walk over the dunes, its a nice walk and the views are excellent. Dunes are great for the kids to slide down on their sand sledges. They had ages playing on the dunes. The beach is great and they allow dogs.

I would thoroughly recommend this park, would definitely go back!

We travelled to Trevornick in August with our 2 children (5 year old boy and 4 year old girl) and had a wonderful holiday. Due to our late booking and being probably the busiest week of the year we had a pitch on sun field. I actually preferred this field as it is unallocated, it's just first come first served and you pick your own pitch on arrival - we got a lovely spot (the pitches are huge, we were able to park our car next to our 8 man tent) and this field just feels more spacious, with lots of green area for the kids to play around outside the tent. It is the highest field so has a great view out to sea, but does get quite windy at night wasn't terrible though!

The toilet shower blocks were lovely, spacious and clean and there were plenty of facilities - even when the nearest block was closed for cleaning, the next block was not too far a walk. The family bathrooms were great - although there was sometimes a queue.

The disadvantage to being in sun field was the walk to all the facilities (Pool, shop etc.) but even at 10pm with a tired 4 and 5 year old, it was manageable.

The Pool was lovely, a good sized baby pool and a decent shallow area/deep end ratio. Could have done with a few more loungers, but we were there during the busiest week, and we just used the floor (would have been rubbish for sunbathing though!)

The Park was good, but could do with a few more things to do.

Our kids loved the amusements, and there were plenty of games for them to be able to spend the contents of their money boxes! - 2 penny push along, a bouncy ball pin ball game, mini bowling alley, air hockey.

The shop was adequate - OK for last min top ups, but went to the nearby Morrison's on the first day and did a big shop.

The Cafe/Bistro was nice, we ate there on the first evening, and it was very pleasant outside, and really felt like being on holiday, was a little expensive but good generous portions.

Hollywell bay park was nice enough, and the £20 offer from reception good, but plenty for kiddies, there are not loads of rides for them, but a good afternoon's entertainment.

We did attempt the walk to the beach, but it was just too difficult for the children, would seriously recommend the bus!

The best bit of the holiday for us by far was the kids club, our children loved it, Harry & Harriet the Hare and Maria, Roxy, Ellie and in particular Leanne were fantastic with the kids, and there was plenty to do to keep them entertained right up until 10pm.

All in all this is a great site with loads of things to do (we only left the site three times in the week we were there)

 2 adults 2 children

Spent 1 week on this site with super pitch and was great,no emptying dishwater, filling water barrels etc,

toilet and shower block were modern but due to the time of year there were cues, the facilities on site were fantastic,3 fishing lakes, golf course, playground, outdoor pool, and a the fun park which is great for all ages,
there is so much to do around the cornwall area that I would advise 2 weeks, bluereef aquaruim, newquay zoo, lands end, st ives, all within a 40 mile radius and worth the visit, advise you to depart early hours of the morning to avoid the traffic it was a nightmare.
Overall a great base for a summer holiday in the uk

 Excellent site.

We went in June so wasn't really busy, although its a huge site and there is plenty of room.

The facilities are nice and clean and plentiful.

We had a super pitch which boasted water drainage and tv connection, unfortunately though we couldn't make sense out of the film channel. Never on when said it would be.

The clubhouse is good with entertainment for children and there is an arcade and cafe/restaurant too. I really enjoyed the walk down to the beach and stopping at the local pub for a pint of dumbar or four.

All in all an excellent site and I will be returning once we have seen some more of the country.

Spent August Bank Holiday weekend here and after seeing all the reviews I had expected it to be fantastic but actually was rather disappointed.

We had to book two pitches because we use three small 2/3 man tents and when I asked if we could have all three on a pitch was told no -it would make the pitch look cluttered! Fair enough I thought -but on arrival found it quite funny as many pitches were real encampments with caravan, awning, windbreak, TV aerial, BBQ, kitchen equipment, table, bikes, surfboards etc etc - and our 3 little tents would have looked quite neat in comparison. We couldn't get two together so it was a nuisance and both were mostly earth patches ie no grass left - it was hard to pitch our - small - tents and have room to sit directly outside on the grass.

We were next to an enormous tent with 4 pods and windbreak etc etc - took up the whole pitch - how could ours have looked cluttered?!

Also - small but vital point - why don't they just stick more hooks in the showers - or shelves? Everyone moans about this and in the ladies everyone has to fling their clothes/towels over the door frame - would take a handyman a few hours to add extra hooks to the cubicles.

Finally - the noise from the quadbikes/go carts on the Fun Park droned on all day - I know that should be obvious booking a site next to a Fun Park but I didn't think of it - my fault really.

I would go back - but only with a bigger tent and in early season when there was still some grass!

 Party: 2 adults & 2 girls aged 7

I was going to compare this all singing all dancing site with the tiny farm site we stayed on, on the way down but that would be like comparing chalk & cheese.

Instead I think for most readers it would be better to compare Trevornick with a very similar site, Hendra, which we used last year.

The weather for both trips was dreadful but unlike Hendra, Trevornick did not turn into a quagmire. (I do understand Hendra has spent a small fortune on drainage over the summer.)

Trevornick does have a very clever website that allows you to book by pitch & even gives pitch dimensions, excellent. We paid extra for a super pitch & at 38' x 38' was actually bigger than my garden. To be honest we only used the hook up to run a cool box & we had no use of the video channel. Probably could have saved some money as equally big plots were available without the extra facilities.

Shower & toilet blocks were large & kept very clean but unlike Hendra the showers worked properly with loads of hot water.

The shop at Trevornick needs a re-think. Stock choice was limited with a very poor frozen section where as Hendras mini super market was a genuine bonus with sensible pricing.

Trevornick wins hands down as far as the pool. It was warm & well sheltered, covered at night & the heaters left on 24/7. Whilst Hendra had the super indoor 'Oasis' facility which got very crowded with visitors from outside , there outside pool was so cold as to be unusable (& I'm no wimp)

The only downside to Trevornicks pool was that on the odd good weather day we did have they insisted in closing the pool at 5:00pm ( madness)

We did try to walk down to the beech at Trevornick& got as far as the dunes before driving rain forced us back. So having the beech (it is a bit of a yomp) & the fun park next door means Trevornick is probably better positioned for families.

So you take your choice.

For me I'd have to say Trevornick is the better for families, but for next year after 2 holidays on the trot ruined by the weather, it's the South of France for us !

We have just had a fantastic week at this site. The only thing that spoilt it was the weather, but we managed to work around that.

The toilet/shower/wash facilities were spotless clean.

The food at the hungry horse takeaway and the stables bar was good. Thae stables also had free wifi which was quicker than our home connection.

Mobile phone reception was patchy (vodafone) but I was quite glad of this!

Entertainment was good both for the children and adults in the farm bar.

The pitches were ample but larger tents may benefit from a larger pitch.

The wife loved a massage at the health club. I never had a chance to try the golf but it looked well kept.

All in all a great site and we will definitely be going again.

 Brilliant site.

Stayed in a Eurotent - having never stayed in one before was a little apprehensive but shouldn't have been - everything was as it should be.

Holywell beach is a short walk across the golf course and sand dunes and after the walk you are rewarded with an outstanding beach.

Didn't visit the entertainment really as our DS was always too tired - so can't really comment.

The on site food facilities were superb.

Would recommend to anyone - even if it is a bit of a trek from Hull - but well worth it!

This was our second visit to this site having visited in 2007.
Several things have been up dated since then, all the toilet blocks look to have been updated and you no longer have to pay for the showers-they now work on a sensor and at no time did we have a shortage of hot water. Each block has a family shower room at the end and although we are beyond needing this it did seem a good set up apart from you must put down a £10 deposit for the key and only get £5 back -which to me seems unfair.

The cafe/restaurant has also been updated and carried a reasonable menu at a good price.

The pitches on this site are huge but the downside of this is that the vast majority are on a slope,I had to keep packing one end of our fridge up until it would work, and we continuely felt like we were sliding out of bed!

One thing that is lacking though is some form of entertainment for younger teenagers, apart from the amusements all that there is to do is hang around.

Newquay is a short bus ride away and even the supermarket is a 10 min journey in a car. Holywell beach is a short 20 min stroll downhill and once there the beach is clean and covered by Lifeguards, the only downside is the lack of toilet facilities, which the nearest being a 10 min walk back off of the beach.

Just spent five wonderful weeks at this site, weather was glorious for the whole time.

Two minutes drive to a glorious beach, or ten minute walk through the sand dunes.

Very good fun park for kiddies, and go carts for the big kiddies, superb golf course and best of all, three large lakes full of big carp up to 27lbs .

Facilities on site are good and very clean, the only fault that I found was the eurotent shower block had only tepid water in the showers and washbasins.

We got back from a 6 night stay at Trevornick on Friday (26th June). It was a really nice site- quieter than I imagined because it is obviously not high season yet until the main summer holidays but that was probably a good thing.

Site- neat, tidy, nice looking. Welcomed nicely with out tent tags/car stickers and an info bag full of leaflets and things to do in Cornwall. We were taken to our pitch (401-Cornfield) and set up. Later on we got talking to the older guy who seems to serve in the takeaway and the shop, lovely man, told us to walk down to the beach (Holywell Bay) the road way (dunes too much for us to tackle with a 3 wheeler double buggy!). W did and it was so nice- warm weather, blue skies, walked down past the 2 pubs en route and onto the beach, then back up after a while. Beautiful, stunning beach. St. Pirans (pub at Holywell Bay) is lovely, too.

We were a bit shocked to find the shop, takeaway etc closed before 10.30 as I didn't realise they only open later in high season but this wasn't a problem. The Sports bar was closed too but again no problem.

Can't comment on the entertainment/club etc. As to be honest, because of the nice weather and going out in the day we stayed outside at night.

Shop is good- well stocked, bit pricey for some things just like any other campsite shop but not too much. Lovely staff.

We sat out back on the benches at the children's play area (back of the Stables Restaurant) a few times, and I could chill out on my laptop (free WiFi in the Stables area). Nice little play area.

Toilet/Shower blocks great- showers now operated by radar touch (waving hand in front of when it stopped) rather than 20p's which is good. Ladies always seemed a nice temp although my other half commented that the mens seemed a bit cool. Clean showers and toilets, and wash up areas.

Pitches seemed large and mainly flat, a couple across from us asked to move from where they were (don't know where) into our field (Cornfield) as our field was flatter, and I don't think they had a prob as the site wasn't overly busy. Also a couple in a mobile home came next to us but for whatever reason (hope it wasn't us!) moved across the field the day after.

Food- only eat a couple of times at the Hungry Horse Takeaway and it was ok. Love the cookies they sell in the jars in the Stables and at the takeaway. .Yum!

The scenery walking into Holywell Bay is lovely, and we could just about see the horizon through the bushes on our field.

Cubert is the nearby village- has a couple of shops, fish n chip shop and a Post Office counter inside one of the shops. Be careful though as when we first arrived after the 8 hr journey, before we got to the campsite, we pulled up outside the shop, near the crossing, with my other half and kids still in the car (not on the crossing, but half on the zogzags leading to it), someone told him to move it and threatened to take a photo and send it to the police, which I thought was a bit harsh! And the second time he was thee for seconds while I jumped out and a woman was sat there pulling her phone out ready to take a pic before he had chance to turn round and pull into the car park opposite! So be warned!

We visited the Bowgie Inn which is a LOVELY pink pub overlooking Crantock Bay just down the road from the site, nice food, generous portions, LOVELY scenery. Then went down onto Cranktock Bay (we warned- fair walked over dunes from car park to beach!). It is a gorgeous beach though.

Also visited the Smugglers Inn a coupld of time not far from the site (follow the signs), nice quaint little pub with nice beer garden and kiddies play area. Food wasn't fab but other than that really nice.

Visited Perranporth once- again lovely beach (we didn't go on it just saw it from car park at top overlooking it). Lots of shops, lovely Smoothie bar serving nice smoothies and sandwhiches. Didn't stay ages but a nice place.

Visited Lands End which is a fair drive, nice place, few new things since last time I went. On way back visited Sennen Cove near to it which again was a gorgeous beach, big waves though!

Went to the Cornish Gold Centre and then tried to drive over to St Austell to the Cornish Market advertised on flyers in reception. BE WARNED! I didn't read it properly and it is only on Saturdays and Sundays (and Bank Hols I think). Also Wednesdays from Mid July. Oops! We went on a Thursday so a wasted journey but my fault really although the text telling you could have been bigger (not Trevornicks fault obviously!).

Oh- we went to the pool once, I didn't go in but chilled round the edge on a sunbed. Nice pool though, clean, covered over at closing time which was 5pm, not sure if later main season. The other half says it was warm, there's a baby pool too and Jacuzzi I think.

Well I think that is it?! We met a few lovely people here and it is a lovely site to relax outside your tent/van if the weather is nice. Although it was quieter it was enjoyable, I will deffo go again one day!
