Cracking tlttle site a field away from the Thames and beautiful Lechlade. Clean and tidy loos, shower and washing up facilities, with washer & dryer. Keypad entry to site and toilet block made it feel very secure.
She lent us an extension cord as the hook up points were quite a distance away. But with unmarked pitches it was easy to spread out and enjoy the space. Large field with plenty of space for the kids to play games, but bring your own activities as no playground or anything.
Locally several fab pubs, small supermarket, post office, antique shops and cute all year round Christmas shop. Couple of chippies and take aways, and an amazing butcher who does gut-bursting bbq bundles. Seek out Tony the butcher, he is awesome!
Larger co-op in Highworth better value for food, but 15 mins drive away. Thames is beautiful here, walk along the banks to where two rivers meet for the most idylic scenery. And try your hand at Aunt Sally a local pub game involving throwing a stick at a ball. Like baseball only backwards ;)
Only 2 downsides to week long break were an abundance of wasps and I mean ABUNDANCE! and with a husband who is allergic and petrified, this made mealtimes somewhat stressful. Only other downside is the main road is used heavily by trucks and wagons, and has no footpaths. Thankfully there is a path through the cow field to the bridge and pavements, but if you plan on walking to town for a beer of an evening, take a torch and stay off the main road! (And watch out for cowpats!)
But neither of these negative points should reflect on the campsite. Great location, fantastic views of airplanes from RAF fairford, excellent walks along the river and great amenities. Will be going back again.

We have just returned from a break away with a group of mum's and children. On arrival we tried to pay for our 3 nights stay and
We were told by Mrs Owner we were unable to stay for the third night due to a double booking. No phone call was made to let us know that we could not stay for the third night. Mrs Owner did not apologise for the inconvenience and was not very helpful. Mrs Owner then told us she would let us know if we could stay the third night, but on the second day when we approached her she said 'no you can't stay it's not possible'.It was very disappointing and upsetting for our children as they really wanted to stay the extra night.
Also, we didn't feel the toilet and shower block were very clean and there were 3 out of 4 toilet seats broken.
We do not feel this is an unfair review of the site as we have been there for the last 2 years and have had a lovely time, we just felt that the lady owner made us feel very unwelcome.
Lechlade is a lovely part of the Cotswolds

Just come back from a great break at Bridge House Campsite in Lechlade. We reckon that the site and facilities are the best we've come across. We think it is not a problem that there is no site shop as Lechlade is so close.
The toilet/shower block looks very new and is kept incredibly clean. The power showers (2 in Ladies and 2 in Gents) are hot and powerful and I liked the cubicle arrangement which made showering easy. I should think that when the campsite is full, you might have to queue up or choose a time earlier or later than the norm but it will be well worth it.
The washing machine is excellent as are the washing up sinks. We thought that the only thing which was missing, that we've made use of at other sites, was a small chest freezer for freezing freezer blocks but perhaps there wouldn't be enough people to make use of it. It was not much of a problem as Londis do packs of ice which kept our cool box going for 2-3 days.
The large field was great with electrical hook ups on one side and tents on the other. It has country views on 3 sides.
The road was a bit noisy but not enough to disturb us.
A quick stroll across the cow field (watch out for pats!)and you're in Lechlade. The stile was fine for us but I can see it would be a bit of an ordeal if you're a bit infirm or you've got a pram. The road is very busy and fast and would think this would be quite dangerous to walk along into Lechlade even though it's no distance.
Lechlade is a lovely village with all the facilities you need while you're on holiday. Cutler and Bayliss - Traditional Butchers has 'real' meat which tastes beautiful. They also do a BBQ range of meat - Yum yum. Arkwrights, the DIY shop for bits you've forgotten and Londis for all the other bits. Rosemary and Cranberry bread was lovely.
Pubs - Crown has a microbrewery. Excellent beers especially Old Lech.
The Riverside by the bridge is good for lunches by the Thames accompanied by a pint of Moonlight or two!
The Trout at Tadpole Bridge/St John's Lock was great. They have live music nearly everyday and we can recommend the Cheddar Ploughmans and the Prawn Salad. The menu was quite extensive. You can walk down to it on the Campsite side of the river then return using the Monks Walk which comes out at the School and Church in Lechlade.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The owners are very helpful and the location can't be beaten.

This campsite is very different to ones that I have stayed at before, as there are codes for the toilet block, as well as the barrier to enter the campsite. Although annoying to remember to take the code with you, this is good for security and makes you feel safe. The staff member’s were pleasant at all times.
Although we were not travelling with children, there is enough room for them to play with their games / bikes etc. There is no children's play area, so definitely bring something to amuse the kids.
The actual campsite consists of a large field and does have a number of electrical points. Although very busy over the bank holiday weekend, we weren’t all crammed in. We did have a gazebo as well as our tent, which gave us that additional privacy.
The toilet block is clean and although basic, is what you need/want. In the ladies, there is four toilet cubical and two showers. The water is strong but very hot. The hand dryer is not very good, so I would suggest taking a hand towel to the bathroom. There is an area for washing up, with four sinks, a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The area is what makes this campsite a fantastic base. At the edge of the camping field there is a style, which takes you on a two-minute walk through a small field to the River Thames and the Half Penny Bridge. There are a lot of swans and ducks, so remember to take some extra bread as it’s very well received.
The other side of the bridge is a pub with a very large garden and does sometimes have live music on. The village of Lechlade is very nice and has a Co Op and a butcher / Greengrocer for food bits. You are close to some other lovely villages and towns, including Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water, so this campsite is a great way to start your exploring of the Cotswolds.
Overall I would definitely recommend this campsite and I will also be returning with friends and family members in the near future.

The site has lovely views of the Thames and is great for walks , but as others said, the only way into Lechlade is along a busy road with no pavement or over a stile set in a gate. The latter was fine for us agile pensioners but the field path was muddy in wet weather.
There was some road noise from people driving much too fast in the early hours.
The shower block was clean but the water came out with such ferocity that it almost hurt. Lower water pressure and a higher temperature would help. The owners were very friendly when we arrived and there weren't many people there in June.

My husband and I booked with 1 weeks notice via the phone, the lady who took my booking was very pleasant and we were met at the gate on our arrival at about 7pm - it was unfortunate that there had been an awful lot of rain over the previous week which meant the lower part of the field had been closed. This meant we were packed into the top field which I must admit felt a bit overcrowded. We had a spot by the hedgeline and although the road is a little way away we were still disturbed by traffic at night - however I'd like to add that we do live in the middle of no where so any traffic is more than we are used to. There is a tricky style to climb to get onto the footpath which takes you to the town, but appart from that Lechlade itself is lovely, and the locals are very friendly and the Chip shop does great chips. The site was clean and tidy even though it was busy, and the owners seemed to always be on hand should anyone need them. Due to previous reviews I didn't use the toilet and shower facilities but the disposal point was spacious clean and at a useful height. I would recomend this site to the more agile among you only due to the tricky style, there were lots of children all happliy playing on what looked to be a nice safe site, I'm sure we will visit again.

We have stayed here 3 times in all, going again this weekend. Yes the toilet block is a bit jaded, but more then makes up for it with the lovely surroundings. Nice pubs in the village, sometimes have music on a saturday night. Ample stock at the supermarket. Not to far to walk either. The antique shops are nice to while away a few hours. The owners are very nice and the site is relaxed although can be a tad noisy at night, but most are.

I like this site and have been many times. It is very much at it's best when quiet as noise and crowds at peak times easily mar this otherwise peaceful spot. Owners are friendly and are slowly upgrading the facilities. Walks by the Thames are great and everything required is only over the bridge in Lechlade. I camp with two 8 year old children and their cousins who all love the place and have never had any problems. Great place.

I concur with all of the other reviews say about the camp. I took a toddler in a pram and two dogs (one of which on the large size). You can leave the camp on foot by the main gate - but there is no footpath and the road is narrow and busy - so we chose to take the second option of escape - via a wired up high metal gate with a mud patch on one side and concrete on the other. Transporting a baby and pushchair was not much fun at all, and my sheepdog had great fun limboing under the gate. So unless you are over10 yrs and reasonably agile this is not the place for you. We only spent one night and quite honestly that was one night too many - we shall not be returning.
