 We picked this site for our annual family camping trip and wanted to be able to walk up Snowdon. We also liked the idea of the lake for SUP etc. We had 2 campervans and a tent. The campervan bays are great and I wish all campsites used this design. The tent areas are just free for all so you need to be early to get a good spot, we didn’t particularly!
The setting is spectacular especially in the lovely weather we had and swimming in the lovely lake was a highlight as well as walking Snowden again.
Unfortunately the facilities are only adequate for a busy weekend (and this is before schools broke up…) we had some large posh portaloo type toilets near us which was handy but they are quite noisy with slamming doors and a bit smelly by the end of the day. The main block is a walk away and even further for some of the tent fields.
There are about 7 showers and for a massive site this is no where near enough. I always try to go for a shower about 6/7pm when others are eating and I have never in all my 40 years of camping, had to wait for a shower. I was 15th in the queue! Madness. Also there is not much space to put stuff apart from a couple of hooks. They also weren’t cleaned enough because they got dirty as soon as they were cleaned because of the number of people using them. Impossible to keep on top of it.
The food and bar are also too small for the number of people. The few staff we saw were very nice but not enough of them, one guy seemed to be running everything on his own which he managed with a simile but ridiculous.
Queues for pizzas took ages. This is one of the most expensive sites we have stayed on and it really needs some investment. It is living on its location which I get to a point. I think we were lucky as everyone seemed very chilled and my husband said it was like a chilled festival where someone had forgotten the music.
Everyone stuck to no music and no noise after 11pm which was quite amazing.

Terrible campsite! It is absolutely beautiful but the staff and facilities are so bad. We went for half term, the toilets are the worst thing, some don't lock and the smell is so bad you have to hold your breath. The water will burn your hands too. They need more toilets for the amount of people.
The staff hate visitors. When we’re there the freezer broke and they said they have no idea when it will be fixed but not for a long time (all our food went off). They were rude and unhelpful every time we asked a question.
The poorly stocked shop is a joke with UHT milk and one flavour pot noodle.
If you do want a pizza you need to queue for at least an hour and get there at 4. 30pm. Coffee is terrible too.
This site is beautiful but the price you pay from a facility and service perspective is not worth it.

You arrive and everything seems ok, well its pretty much downhill from here 😝 the large campervan bays are great but the tent pitches are small and these are a mix of not so friendly campers and seasoned 1s that have a bit of sense,
Toilets are horrible, in the morning expect a 30 minute wait seriously not enough stalls (also unless your used to 80 grit sand paper bring your own TP) for the amount of people,
Showers have seen better days and the laugh is there closed from 1pm to 4pm and 11pm till 7am never in my life have I seen such service would be ok if they were actually cleaned through these times,
The wardens are a mix of kids and some that are just not helpful the guy with long hair and the beard was helpful the others may as well been chocolate fire guards, I don’t like to put awful reviews but to me this site has potential but needs management

Love this site and have been before, it is in a great location, love that it feels like your really away from everything but actually have so much near if you wanted to explore more there are local towns like Caernarfon about 20 min drive away and llanberis and Snowden,
On site they welcome you at reception and explain rules handing you a map they log your car reg plate which allows you through barriers into the site after checking in,
We were staying in a tent with a dog and no ehu so you can pick on site where you want to set up we picked next to the lake as you can see everyone having
Such a good time you can rent out canoes for around £14-£20 bigger ones for an hour, people used their own paddle boards, and dingies!
They have a picnic area which serves hot pizzas around £11-£13 in Pizza Hut and in other hut they served drinks/beers etc with different hot food on each night eg burritos, curries, hog roasts, it is expensive but good quality food and lovely people serving it.
They have a large washing up area, microwaves, boiling water, places to charge electricals, lots of showers with a new block built since we were last there plenty of toilets they are all near reception if you need to go in evenings they have night loos dotted around open from 11pm-7-am.
We were a bit disappointed to learn we couldn’t use cash and that it’s card only on the whole site including the little shop they also have on site which sells all essentials in case you have forgotten anything 😃
You can have campfires which you can have at your tent or on the beach you just need to buy your own logs which they sell in bags in the picnic area.
There are some lovely trail walks just off back of site also. If you needed WiFi you can only get it at reception or in the picnic area it says your connected on site but drops out a lot but I guess we are not there to use technology 😆
We have been when it is quiet and busy it can get a little noisy at night when it’s busy but that’s to be expected, as for parking your car there are small parking sites dotted all around the site so you can get a close to where your camping but your not allowed to park on grass only in the bays,
Overall a great place to camp and has to be my favourite by far! Definitely recommended 🤩👍🏼

Lovely campsite very friendly staff.
Location is great would recommend beddgelert for a day out.
Has nice shop on site and facilities are clean.
Only thing I would say is take strong pegs as the ground gets a bit hard in the heat.

+ Beautiful camping spot 😍 our favourite place in Snowdonia.
You can hike, rent a canoe or swim in the river or lake.
Toilets are in the reception area, so you have to walk a lot 🤪

Love how close it was to the lake, and being able to hire a boat/bring your own to get out onto the lake.
Toilets and showers are generally clean and there’s plenty of sinks for washing up, outdoor showers, small shop on site for essentials and different food served every night which was delicious.
Really good location, at the foot of Snowdon and close to enough to surroundings towns and tourists sites. Can get really busy and can be a little noisy during the night.
Check in was quite a long wait, wasn’t really told much information about the site or where we could pitch so we winged it.

We stayed with friends and our families.
Great campsite, great location.
We were in a cloud for most of the week but that didn't stop us from enjoying the waterfalls nearby, the lake, the water-sports, and fun with friends.
The outdoor showers and the water boiler were a great hit too.

Good facilities, busy, a little noisy at first but tolerable. Then quiet. Amazing.
Good for local treks and ice cream.
Food on the site too, to try next time.

Nice location but expensive. Be aware that there are additional 'mandatory' charges when booking.
Booked for a 'small campervan with electric hook up ' for £24 a night to find that that doesn't include electricity or vehicle! Actual price £34. 50 plus a £5 booking fee.
Would rather be quoted the honest all in price than be annoyed when it keeps being added to - won't be returning despite the location.

Excellent site in great location by river and lake in mountain valley.
Far too many computer generated emails in week before arrival but all staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout stay.
Camping fields are well kept and although cars are not allowed by tent they are parked on edge of your selected field (I was not using electric hook-up area).
Big minus from me is that cash was not accepted in shop, so I bought supplies off site in order to keep within budget…so only 5 for site facilities.
Hope to be back next year.

Stunning location, fantastic facilities and friendly staff.
Great area to relax in or use as a base for days out, and superb food & ale on tap from the kitchen in busier seasons.
Hard standing parking for motorbikes near Reception.
Highly recommended! :)

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay, the Mountain View’s and lake were breathtaking.

Absolutely fantastic campsite. Beautiful setting,
Would definitely recommend.
Wish we had left more time to eat in the brewpub and use the railway,
