Great site , with spectacular backdrop of the Ochil hills. Very well maintained . Spotless showers / toilets. Nice playpark for younger kids. We were only there for the one night , but would happily have stayed for longer . Nice area set out for tents. No shops or pubs within walking distance, so you will need to stock up well, or drive. Well recommended

We visited this site for one night. The site is small and has a really relaxing atmosphere. There is a small amount of space for tents with Electric hook up in the area near the play park.
The play park is small and is in the centre of the site, it has a few swings, sandpit and slide. The kids loved it and it was the meeting point for all the kids of the site. There is one set of toilets which are near the entrance to the park (this is the furthest away from the tents) the toilets are very clean with music played. In the ladies there are 5 toilets and 4/5 showers. The toilets are accessed by a key which you pay a £5 refundable deposit for. There is also a washing up area (inside) and a laundry, which has a washer, dryer, iron, ironing board, fridge and freezer. We didn't venture out too far but there are plenty of walks in the area, and Stirling is only about a 10minute drive. Reception have a list of all the eating places in the area with menus. Also at reception you can order your papers, bread and milk for collection the next morning. Overall we think that this site is lovely and really worth a visit. There is a small amount of noise from the road but it really didn't affect us.

Facilities at this campsite were very good, toilet block was clean and they had a kids play area which was adequate. There are some nice walks through woods at the foot of the hills. There are lovely views of the hills and the Wallace monument, which isn't far away. A really good base for seeing Scotland, quite central to most things. Overall great camp site would have no hesitation as to come here again.

This is a smallish very well kept and friendly site. Our caravan pitch was as level as it gets, with good views everywhere. We were quite near the playpark which was ideal for our children, who are more on the younger side. Facilities were always spotless with good showering areas. A folding stool is provided on a hook behind the door. There was a plastic baby bath which we took into the laundry room to use. You can order rolls, papers and milk the day before. Brilliant. Instead of going to Morrisons, you can take the road to the Wallace monument into Causewayhead where there is a small co-op, some cafes and pubs. Dont take the caravan here, the hairpin bend is just that, hairpin on a hill! If you like the laid back relaxed way of camping, then this is for you. If you like things lively, busy and boisterous, then dont go. We will definitely be going back, as is everyone else there, it would seem.

We have now stayed at this park 4 times over the past few years and love each stay more and more! A beautiful location at the foot of the Ochill hills with spectacular views of the Wallace Monument which gives the atmosphere of the park a very "Scottish" feel. The park is maintained to a high standard and the toilet/shower block is always spotless even during the morning rush. There is a small park for the kids which could be doing with an upgrade but it's enough to keep them amused. The staff are friendly and welcoming and I would highly recommend this park.

This is our second visit to Witches Craig. This park is excellent, the toilets and facilities are spotless, the park is spotless and well presented, and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Not having to be off site until 1pm is an added bonus. The park is well located in a lovely position at the foot of the Ochills, and a view of the Wallace Monument, and only a short drive to a huge Morrisons supermarket and all Stirlings amenities. There is a busy road, but when sited nearer the back of the park the traffic cannot be heard or seen at all. Will be returning to our favourite park soon.

Had selected this site on the basis of previous reviews on this website and it lived up to the high expectations I had. Quite a small site with basic facilities but they are kept spotlessly clean, tidy and are adequate for the number on site. Unlimited hot water for showers, etc. It is located by the side of a road and although I could hear the cars passing by I did not find it intrusive. I was located towards the rear of the site though. Very friendly owners who even allowed myself and our friends to position our units so the awnings were facing each other - good for keeping an eye on the kids during the evening! Cream eggs for all delivered to our unit by the owner on Easter Sunday was a nice touch and appreciated by the kids. I would certainly use this site again if I was in the area.

Our first visit was in September 2006. We originally chose this site because of its proximity to the University of Stirling, where our son will be for the next 4 years and we expect to be frequent visitors to the area.
On our first visit we were very impressed with the site which is beautifully landscaped, very well maintained and had spotlessly clean toilets/showers. The owners were friendly and the view from our pitch was fantastic.
There are however, two different caravan pitching areas and on our second visit in October we were quite disappointed. This time we were allocated a pitch behind the shower block and very close to a busy main road. We had no view to speak of due to tall trees, and the road noise was very noticeable both during the day and at night. Otherwise it is a very nice site, but if you want a lovely view and peace and quiet do try to get a pitch away from the toilet block and road. We have booked again for Easter and have requested a pitch away from the road but were told this could not be guaranteed, so fingers crossed we get a better pitch this time.
The tent area is at the far end of the site well away from the road on a grassy and fairly level area, but a long way from the toilet/showers. I guess you can't have everything.

Chose this campsite after reading reviews and for its location in scotland, I had a 400 mile drive to get there and hoped it would be a nice site. Boy was I wrong it was fantastic. Staff were very friendly location was brilliant, immaculate toilet and shower block with heating and music :). You could choose where to pitch your tent wich is what I was like. I located myself near the base of the moutain and a field of sheep. I cant praise the site and the owners enough, and despite the very long drive for me I will definately be going back.

This site lived up to the reviews.
Lovely, clean facilities, even with the really wet weather that they've had.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Play park looked very tempting to our 2 children, but it had been so wet that they couldn't play. Views were just amazing, when they say they are at the foot of the Ochil hills, they mean it!
We will definitely do a return trip at some point.

In a word, FANTASTIC! we are just back from our second visit in as many months, & can't sing the praises of the site and staff loud enough. Great for families and couples alike, with bags of peace and quiet, yet only five minutes in the car from Stirling. Great facilities for washing & laundry, Nice gated play park for the kids. Love it!

This site was very pretty, well maintained with a wonderful hillside and woodland backdrop. Bit of a climb up the hill, but a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The reception area has loads of information leaflets on things to do and places to visit and the staff very kindly provided detailed information with regard to bus time tables to the center of Stirling. You are able to order milk and paper for the morning and there is a fridge available, which proved convenient for our week long stay. The toilet/shower block is well maintained and has constant and free hot water, though some people may find it a bit of a walk from the tent area. Stayed here for a week and would come again, it is very central for various days out in all directions, including Edinburgh, Loch Lomond etc.

We visited this site as a stop over on our way north and received a very warm welcome. A choice of pitches was offered and the owner was very helpful with local information required. The shower block was immaculate and the scenery of the mountains around, beautiful. The bus runs into Stirling regularly from right outside the site if required. A visitor satisfaction questionnaire is in operation for your comments, the owners obviously open to any suggestions to make your stay the best they can. We had nothing but good comments to add. Book swap in the shop a good idea. Will return.

This must be the tidiest and cleanest camp site I have ever visited. The site was lovely with hanging baskets and flower tubs. I could not fault the toilets or showers. Nice family atmosphere and friendly staff. Blair Drummond Safari Park is well worth a visit and they even have dog kennels to leave the dog while your in the park. Would definitely go back.

We stay here at least once a year. One of the friendliest and easy-going sites I've ever stayed in. The owners (it's family run) are extremely friendly and helpful - we started going here when the kids were VERY young (our first foray into caravaning) and the owner would let the kids help her watering flowers etc whilst the adults argued about which pole was the upright etc for the awning. A beautiful site and well maintained, there is a large segregated play area with play equipment and swings which keep the kids amused now they're not so young. The toilet blocks are very well maintained, clean and warm. Showers are good - and despite the previous reviews, the number would appear to be a good balance for the number of pitches. A large shopping area is just a couple of miles away with a large supermarket and the essential B&Q (ok - essential for me :-) right close by. A large number of attractions are within a very short drive - the Wallace Monument; Falkirk Wheel; Stirling Castle and access to the Edinburgh attractions is well within driving distance. For hillwalkers, there is easy access to the Ochils and the hills around Aberfoyle etc. The only criticism is that in really heavy rain, the grass pitches can become really waterlogged but "fixing" this may spoil the natural beauty of the site. A hard balance to keep. Will we we back? Definitely - at least once per caravaning season!
