We recently spent 2 nights here. The campsite was absolutely beautiful,
The toilet/shower facilities were well maintained and there is access to a fridge, microwave and kettle.
The owners were very easy to talk to, kind and accommodating.
The campsite feels out of the way, surrounded by fields and trees but it's only a short drive to a superstore and the beach.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying if you're looking for somewhere in the area!

Again idyllic and tranquil had a brilliant weekend. Sheryl did a dog show on Sunday it was brill and so much fun everyone on the site were involved. Roy came round and said hello to all the owners and their dogs and had a scrummy treat for all dogs.
My dog sits and waits for Roy coming out. Loved the fact an ice cream van comes round 😋 toilets and showers clean and lovely and warm as always.
Excellent site cannot recommend enough but make sure you book early.
Pitches are sound for caravan, awning and car all water and electric is near each van nothing is too much trouble loved it thank you again Lisa Martin and Mylo.
See you next time.
I always grade the site 5 stars and 10 out of 10

Beautiful site in a tranquil countryside position with great facilities.
Close to the sea too and the town of Hornsea where you can enjoy fish and chips or a walk on the seafront.
Extremely friendly owners, dog friendly,
We will be returning soon, 100%!

Fabulous site. Owners very welcoming.
Lovely even pitches with plenty of room.
Would highly recommend can't wait to return.
Lovely pub at Withernwick about a mile away. Excellent food would highly recommend the pies.
Nice long walks from campsite. We did the trans penine walk to Hornsea. About 3 miles each way and we also walked to Mapleton down the country road straight outside the campsite

We had a great time.
A fabulous campsite.
So well equipped and welcoming. With roomy pitches.
Hop skip and jump from the Transpenine Trail.
Lovely owner too.
Bit of info, local pub is shut Monday and Tuesday but there’s one about a mile and a half down the
TPT toward Hull.

Another pleasant stay at this site. Becoming an annual ritual. The grounds are immaculately clean. The wash block facilities also. The managers are always visible, working tremendously hard to maintain the standards.
For cycling, access to TPT track and quiet country bi-ways is excellent. A well stocked farm shop is approx a mile away. Sorry to note that the local village pub has closed.
If you are planning to visit the site, please consider other guests, 2 couples arrived and their reunion lasted until 2 AM on their 1st night, voices increasing with alcohol intake and language a bit fruitier than necessary. Quiet the 2nd night thankfully. Other guests were consistently respectful.

A great site. Flat for tents and sufficient hard standings for caravans/motor-homes.
A very friendly site and owners are always welcoming.
We will be returning to this site in 2024 to enjoy tenting.
I give it a 10

Just spent two fabulous weeks at Wood Lake Campsite. Sheryl and Roy go out of their way to make you welcome and do everything they can to make your stay perfect.
Toilets and showers are kept clean and maintained regularly. Roy gets to know all the dogs individually (with sneaky treats for them), the lake and the woodland areas are simply beautiful and a gentle stroll around the site is uplifting and beautiful.
It's just over two miles away from the stunning Mappleton beach and almost 10 minutes away from Hornsea.
We didn't want to leave. The dogs were not happy to get in the car.
If you have not yet visited this idyllic campsite, put it on your list of 'to do's', you won't be disappointed. Pam and Phil August 2023

Second stay here and such an enjoyable stay. Lovely spacious location. Picturesque and peaceful.
Simple facilities but more than adequate with some very thoughtful touches by the owners.
Our only negative would be the amount of toilets/ showers. But that isn't going to reflect our score as everything else more than makes up for it.

A lovely warm welcome from Cheryl on arrival giving all information needed.
We stayed on pitch 10 which was perfect for us with our dog next to the exercise field which is kitted out with agility equipment.
The pitch was spacious with everything close to hand.
The site is very well maintained, a peaceful site with Cheryl on hand at all times and very willing to help with anything.
Well located to travel easily to other attractions nearby.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this site is one to return to.
