Very nice stay for 2 nights. Whole site clean and tidy. At least 2 of the toilet blocks had been refurbished to a high standard. Constant hot water in the shower, soap, toilet paper and hot air hand dryers. Motorhome servicing point (drain badly positioned difficult to empty into but was informed they were altering this). Site beside Hastings country park, good walking in the area and 20 - 30 minutes walk to centre of town. Quiet location - would visit this site again.

On arrival we were met by a very nice friendly and helpful couple who showed us to our pitch.
At the side of the site there is a lane you can walk up that goes of to some great walks with fantastic views over the countryside and sea as you are quite high up. You can walk down to Hastings seafront through the footpaths
The seafront has your usual amusements and funfair for the kids plenty of cafes and chippys
Hastings old town has lots of antique and junk shops to browse around
The campsite itself seemed quite spacious although there was nt any entertainment on site there was a pool, restaurant and bar next door on the sister site although we didn't visit it but the kids said the pool was good
The toilet block was clean and the showers were hot although the showers were very small with only one hook to put all your clothes and towel on and not even a shelf for your shampoo / soap etc
Overall a clean friendly well maintained site good if you enjoy walking or you have a dog. We would visit again

I first visited this site 27 years ago with my parents and have returned many times since with my children.
There have been a number of changes over the years. Over the road there used to be a better shop, a chip shop, a small amusement arcade as well as a clubhouse. There is only a very basic shop, a bar/restaurant with a small ball pool and a swimming pool which is quite expensive. You have to order your newspapers and bread the day before. They are quite happy to refreeze your ice blocks for you.
While at the campsite I have always found it to be a warm friendly atmosphere. The shower block nearest the entrance is much better as it is the newest. The dish washing area always has plenty of hot water but remember to bring your own plug.
The walk into Hastings is a pleasure I tend to use the old golf course at the end of the lane and walk down the steps. The views are amazing. The return trip can be a heavy slog as the campsite is on the top of a hill. But you could always get a bus to the reservoir and walk up the step then along the lane.

We stayed at Shearbarn for 2 nights with a Friday evening arrival and Sunday departure. This had promised to be an excellent weekend weatherwise and it was. On making an initial phone enquiry we were told that there was no need to book to pitch our tent, as they were not busy. I was also told that the pitch would be £24 per night for 3 adults and 2 children under 5. This seemed great value to me when compared to other local sites as it included electric hook up.
On arrival, the lady in the office was very pleasant and helpful. She gave us a map of the site showing exactly where our pitch was. This is a huge site with plenty of room for the kids to play safely. Facilities were good. We were pitched next to the toilet block whitch suited us fine.
This part of Hastings is beautiful with walks to the Firehill, Hastings Country Park and Ecclesbourne Glen. All in all a great experience. We were allowed to stay as long as we wanted on our last day. Only criticism was the lack of hooks in the showers and the water was too hot for children.
Toilet blocks were cleaned every day and a chap in a vehicle drove around picking up any rubbish he found. Basically, it was a perfect camping experience. Will definitely be back.

This site is great for visiting Hastings. We enjoyed the walk (about 25mins) to the old town and the beach there. The site is basic but adequate. Decent showers and always hot water. Everything was clean and tidy. There were places for the kids to play and even a small place for food and a beer for the adults. The down side is the access. It isn't easy to get to, up a small road with cars parked down one side. Feels a bit hairy, but once there it was a safe family site.

We had a good week here, it was very windy and could not put the awning up. The toilet block at the front was very clean but the middle one was dirty, The door to the the block would not close and it was very cold in there. There was a lack of water taps around the site. One of the taps in the washing up block would not turn of very well. Good site but the owners need to spend a little more money improving it

We love this site (our second time here this year) the staff are very helpful and always smiling. The shower and toilet blocks are very clean and even have underfloor heating in the block near barriers! The water was always nice and hot so washing up was easy and it was lovely looking out the window at the sunshine. Our first night there we saw badgers, a first for me. The town is great for all ages we spent a small fortune on the 2p machines, and enjoyed every minute. A lovely site with lovely staff we totally recommend it.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Hastings touring Park. We have visited this site on many many occasions over a number of years firstly in a tent and the later years in a touring caravan. We first used this site before it was revamped.
We try to get away in our caravan at least once a month and have stayed at numerous campsites in various locations all over the country. On this particular touring holiday we had travelled through Wales to Dorset and finally Hastings. I do hope that the new owners take note of comments from other campers as it does have its downfalls.
We stay there mainly because of its location and the fact that we have family close by and for this reason will return. However, compared to the many other campsites we've been to the facilities need to be improved for those in camping /tourers /motorhomes. The toilets and shower block have been improved and we found them to be very clean although there are no hooks or seats to place your clothes when using the showers.
The security staff were very nice and we had no problems. The staff on arrival have always been polite and helpful. I must admit I preferred the site when it had a bar downstairs (mainly with adults) and a clubhouse upstairs.
There used to be amusements for children - a playground in the campsite and one outside the bar and food was available. There was also a very well stocked shop.
However, the playground in the camping field has gone, so has the shop (there is only a small one in reception now). We have been to the new revamped bar a number of times.
Sadly because of its new layout its impossible to find a seat especially if you wanted a meal, so we've got in the car and went to the Town. On the upside, on this visit the bar was empty on Thursday evening so we did get the chance to have a meal, on the downside it was tickets only (£5 each) to use the bar on Saturday and we were informed it was white tie and tiara casino night. Something we didn't know about and who packs like this when on holiday?
There is the use of the swimming pool at a fee. Basically, the site is well kept and clean and the surrounding walks and town are great. We have stayed at many other campsites and the price you pay here is purely just for a pitch.
Other sites we've been to include the use of swimming pools, children's play areas, pool tables, entertainment, restaurants and/or a bar along with a well stocked shop and camping supplies. I feel Hastings Touring Park is lacking in this respect and seems now to be more geared up for those in log cabins.
If nothing else a small play area on the campsite would be nice and some hooks in the showers. A different approach to campers in the bar/restaurant and swimming pool.
Don't forget when the weather is wet or cold its nice for campers to have somewhere to go in the dry and relax for a while.

Spent the Bank Holiday here, 8 adults, very impressed with the site we had pitch 69 next to the shower block in the middle, loads of room, we have a 10 berth tent and there was room for the cars & gazebo.
Only downfall is during the night when people used the wc's they then used the hand dryers which were noisy and could wake you up, I had earplugs so didn't bother me. We took our dog and was impressed with everyone around us who had theirs, all well behaved.
Showers:Ladies - 1st morning used the middle block. The showers have buttons on like the ones you get in a swimming pool so time out very quickly, if someone flushed the loo the water pressure went and if someone left the tap running, which was a lot as they get stuck on, the water goes cold or disappears completely, not a good experience at all. So the next day I used the ones near the entrance much better, constant hot water, cubicles with a sink and curtain so you can do your teeth & get dressed in there instead of in the actual shower where its all wet.
I was told by the staff when I called and booked there were plugs for a hair-dryer which I didn't see anywhere, but we had EHU and used kettle, toaster hairdryer & straighteners.
The kitchen area for washing up is a nice size and has hot running water.
Didn't use the club as we had the dog with us and we like to make our own entertainment, they have a rule, noise to be kept to a minimum between 11pm & 7am which everyone adhered to.
Shop is in the reception and consists of a fridge and very few items, don't know where the fresh bread every day was that's advertised, and my husband asked if they had any newspapers, apparently you have to order them!
Security where always around so you felt safe.
Overall I was impressed on our 1st visit and would return to this site. The country park is lovely and there are some lovely walks.

Just finishing our last days of a ten day stay and enjoyed every day of it,
Showers and wc very clean and good hot water,
Site itself very clean
The only fall-back the pool is £3. 50 for one hour so if there is four of you your better going to Bexhill pool £3. 70 for all day with waves and flume, but can't complain about the rest of the site.
We had lots of room on the park very good for walking and handy for hastings,
Just have to watch for the young fox coming in the awning and more so if you have a tent, it is not bothered by people. Nice to watch but it does pinch your food,
Hook up is 16amp had no trouble with it.

My family and I just got back from staying at shearbarn, and may I say what a lovely site. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman at the site to show us to our pitch whom was very helpful,
The toilet blocks were always clean and tidy with a hard working gentleman riding back and fourth in his gator buggy making sure of this.
The bar staff were very welcoming, and polite.
This site had a soft play area for children and a small playground outside clubhouse, also a heated swimming pool(but this costs 3. 50 per hour)
Of an evening guarantee you will come across wildlife ie badgers, rabbits and a few fruit bats and the odd toot toot from an owl.
Security on foot through the night was reassuring and always smiling.
I must say my children enjoyed this holiday learning new languages and making new friends.
We will most definitely be going again.

Spent a couple of days here, the site was not very full so was nice and quiet.
The shower block at the end of the field were the cleanest I have ever seen. However only one peg on the door made it difficult to hang much up also no shelf for soap etc. There is no temp control so water can get a bit too hot, having said that the showers at the entrance seemed older but better thought out, you can control the water temp and there is a soap dish.
Only used the bar once, it was empty and I can see why, barman not the most attentive and a smile would have been nice. The road gets very narrow on the way to the camp site as there are cars parked outside the houses.
We have a sundance 630. It would be nice if the site had a shop as it is quite a walk into hastings.
Would visit again if in the area.

We stayed here for one night after deciding to spend a sunny day at the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The toilets and showers were clean and well stocked with paper and lots of hot water. The grass is very well maintained and an absolute pleasure to pitch a tent on. There was a fantastic atmosphere on the site, everybody was happy and stress free.
We had access to a washing up block with more than enough washing up sinks with very hot water. Dogs are allowed on site.
We didn't use the on site entertainment but the pool looked very clean and the pub was welcoming. The site quietened down at about 11pm and we saw security patrolling a few times while we sat outside our tent with a BBQ which was very re-assuring. I cannot recommend this site enough.
Plus you wake up to the smell of the sea and the sound of seagulls. A perfect safe and friendly site for couples and families alike!

This is our second visit here and I have to say it was lovely again - the only disappointment was that we arrived on the Sunday of a bank holiday and they really did pack everyone in tightly to the point our guy ropes were crossing over the tent next door and this was just a bit too close for comfort. I am glad we did not spend the whole stay like this as on Monday most people upped and went and we were back to the lovely spacious campsite we expected.
Having said that considering they were so busy the showers were still good and hot on the Monday morning.
As the previous review says you can now use their pool however as a family of 4 it would have cost us £9 so we went about 5 miles up the road to bexhill leisure pool and got waves and slide that both our 4 year old and 8 year old loved for an extra £2 in total.
Bar was good with a little soft play area and surrounding area just gorgeous.

As per the previous review, I would go one stage further and say that these are very good facilities now.
I spoke to security whilst on site and they explained that there had been a £90k upgrade over the winter. The site clearly had listened to criticism and done something about it, so well done.
As for the rest of the site, it was good and well sized pitches. Apparently, the Electric hookup is only 3 amp although I'm sure at one point ours went over this and didn't pop the breaker.
A couple of warnings I guess: The campsite is on the top of a hill and the windy roads getting there are very tricky if you have a caravan or large camper. And of course being on the top of a hill, it is very, very windy. We thought it was just a windy weekend, but when we went into town, there was no wind at all!
