What a great site. Tea and coffee with a chat and a tour of the site from the amazing owners.

We spent 7 nights here. We enjoyed ourselves so much we did not want to leave.

A large field for the dogs to play in. Great views across the valley, peace and good friends. What more can you ask for.

Post office and store down the hill in the village, fish and chip van parks by the school. A good pub with good food and it is dog friendly.

Nothing is too much for the owners. We thank them for making our holiday so good.

Our fourth visit to this clean, simple, tidy and quiet site. A great spot for touring north Cornwall. Many campers return here time and again, and we were drawn back once more.

Why? because we don't want other peoples kids tripping over our guy ropes, we don't need dodgy entertainment, fast food outlet and swimming pool, and an over priced crowded night club. We enjoy the quiet of this adult only site, that has very sensible rules to allow a peaceful break. The owners are friendly and helpful and work hard to make this the kind of site we and others like. If you need to be out late at night, make a lot of noise, need someone else to entertain you, don't go to this site - please; and leave it for those of us that like to relax on holiday!

Where to start! Fabulous welcome with a brew, a natter and a tour before we put our tent up. The facilities were clean at all times with free showers and plenty of loos. (a newly built shower block will open shortly)

The site is down a country lane, and is the ultimate in peace and quiet, no children, no noise - just spectacular views and relaxation. We found the site ideal for touring the area, as just a few miles from Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel - with a great chippy in Delabole nearby.

We will definitely return!

A big 'thank you' to the owners for welcoming us with tea after a long drive form Kent - and for their help in putting up the rather large awning on arrival! It was our first outing for 18 months and we were (very) rusty but the owners made it flow beautifully.

Great site. See you in a few weeks. Nic and Carole

A pleasant site in peaceful North Cornwall countryside, run by a very friendly couple. As with many other guests we were greeted with the traditional cup of tea which was appreciated after a long drive from Lincolnshire.

The site is fully down to grass on a long slope into an extensive valley. Pitches are only located on level ground at the top of the slope, around the perimeter hedge, leaving acres of open ground / open views. Although dogs are allowed to run free they have to be supervised and the open space means they are generally well away from tents and caravans. Dogs were unobtrusive and no problem whatsoever.

The site was well groomed, clean and tidy. Facilities were basic but exactly what was needed. Toilets and showers were basic / dated but clean and perfectly adequate with constant hot water. We never had to queue. A new toilet, shower and utility block was under construction and should be completed in 2014 bringing modern facilities in a more central location.

Despite overnight and morning rain every day, we had an enjoyable visit and the hosts readily allowed us to extend our stay for an additional night to avoid a wet pack up.

The area is great with lots of wonderful places to visit. One word of warning, if you want to eat out of an evening, do so before 8pm as few local places serve food after that.

Some reviewers mention traffic noise, but the traffic on the adjacent country lane really didn't cause us any disturbance.

The site does have some rules but they are common sense and guests with courtesy and good manners would automatically do those things anyway. We arrived back late one evening, after the field gate was locked (to prevent disturbance from late night vehicle movements), but we simply parked on the owner's private drive (as per site rules).

Basic supplies can be obtained from nearby village shops but practically this means a car journey.

For a peaceful chill out stay, this site comes highly recommended!

Lovely welcome shown around shower and toilet facilities basic but usable new ones a work still in progress. Easy flat site we went into far field very quiet and sheltered even though road in just over hedge and there were plenty of farm movements. Jon and Terri were very welcoming and even lent us an extension for our hook up. Cant find any criticisms at all and will return again hopefully soon. Had good weather and were able to walk to coastpath and along dog thoroughly enjoyed himself and made new friends.

We brought our caravan here and was pleasantly surprised at what an efficient operation is run. We would recommend to everyone and hope that we will be back when we next visit cornwall. Everything was provided that was needed, and it's the definition of how a site should be run. Definitely recommended and looked forward to returning.

Very friendly welcome after a long drive a fresh complementary cuppa was just the job! was shown around given a choice of pitches. The site is well run everything explained with a welcome emphasis of consideration for all campers/caravanners. The new shower block is coming on and will I am sure be ready for next summers visitors. There are plenty of toilets all ready with showers separate, so as not to take up all toilet facilities. As we had no electric hook up for a non obligatory donation freezer blocks were free to access (they even charged the kindle for us!). Would recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful relaxing break.

Booked a week and immediately added an extra 3 days, all the pitches are across the level top of a sloping field which dogs are allowed to run free in, there is a small field with another 3 EHUs at the far end. Sounds crazy dogs running free but it works, they know they can wander so don't bother much as opposed to being tied up & legging it as soon as they escape, everyone followed the rules & cleaned up after their dogs.

The toilets are old but clean but the new block is almost finished & is central for everyone to access. The owners don't want a jam packed busy site just enough to be comfortable & make a living so there is space around your pitch. Jon & Terri welcome you & give you a choice of pitches after showing you round & brewing up.

The village has most things you need & a good friendly pub. A 20 minute drive will get you to all sorts of things to see & do. As an adults only site it is really quiet in the evening so you can sit & watch the world go by in peace & quiet.

Do I recommend this site to others, no, I don't want it filling up when I want to return, will I return, you bet, an absolute diamond of a site at a sensible price in an area that is all too ready to rip you off with nothing in return. Cheers Jon & Terri, see you soon I hope.

Lovely campsite on top of a hill with magnificent views. It was very windy when we were there, due to the hill top position so we would probably take a windbreak next time. Toilet block is OK and was kept very clean but the new block currently under construction will be a welcome addition. Owners are a lovely people who are very welcoming and go out of their way to be helpful. I would recommend this campsite.

We visited this wonderful site for adults only together with our Daisy the dog. The site was amazing, well kept in every way. You are welcomed by the owners Terri and Jon with a cuppa and a smile. They show you all around the site, very rare these days and nothing is too much trouble. A new toilet/shower block is well underway. The existing block is fine and kept spotless. There was never a long wait for a shower even when the site was full. There is no chance of being overcrowded here as the owners seem to choose enjoyment and space for their customers rather than a quick buck! Dogs are welcome and there is plenty of space for them to be exercised and everyone while we were visiting picked up their mess and disposed properly.

Overall a lovely relaxing stay and we will be visiting again in the near future.

All credit to the owners!

Our third visit to this well kept site. The owners seek to keep this a quiet and peaceful site, and are welcoming and helpful without being obtrusive. If you are looking to camp with a group of up all night revellers or expect a nightclub or someone to entertain you don't bother. This site gives us just what we want, un-crowded good size pitches, electric hook-up, great views, and clean facilities.

The owners are very helpful and welcoming hosts not only with a drink on arrival but also an offer of a lift to the local pub in the evening. In our case they also loaned us the use of an extension lead from the electric hook up to our non electric tent when the inverter broke for the Aerobed inflation.

The toilet block is spotlessly clean (2 bathrooms (shower, toilet and sink), 2 toilets with washing sinks and a further 2 toilets but new block due to be built shortly)

The site is immaculate with short mown grass which is collected so no clumps in your tent :) Most of the pitches are against a hedge which backs straight onto a local B road so there is some road noise. The pitches are on a very slight slope but nothing much to mention.

The site is really well situated for exploring North Cornwall with Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow right on the doorstep.

A gem of an campsite, just for adults and wild rabbits :)

We have just returned from a fantastic break at this site. The owners are very welcoming and will go the extra mile to ensure you have a great holiday. The site is very peaceful and open with stunning views. The showers etc are spotless. Dogs are very welcome on site and allowed to be off their leads. As non dog owners, we had no problems at all with this, in fact there is often more disturbance from dogs on sites where they need to be tethered on short leads. While I agree with most comments from the previous review you do not need to be a dog lover, or old, to enjoy this campsite. Brilliant location for touring north Cornwall by car or on foot.
