We arrived in Ingoldmells onThursday evening and wanted to pitch up our tent, it took us ages to find a site that would accept tents, for my partner, our six-month-old daughter and me.
I had visited the water park website (linked from www.Ukcampsite.Co.Uk) and decided to stay there.
We arrived at 6:30pm,and found the office had closed at 5pm (also no new arrivals are accepted after 9pm due to noise restrictions and courtesy to others.)
We had to go and ask at the bar for someone to site us, which only took them about 5 minutes to get back to us. I found the staff very polite and helpful on arrival.
Their prices were very reasonable at a cost of £14 per night to pitch our tent with one car (this price did not include an electrical hook-up.)
We were pitched at the bottom of a fairly steep banking and the ground was not quite even, never the less, we got the tent up and pegged it down, this was a little difficult as some of the ground was very dry and cracked in places, and a few of our pegs kept coming out!
Once we were sited, we walked to the showers and toilet blocks which were just over the other side of the banking opposite a lovely large lake full of ducks and very large fish (there was also another lake opposite where we were sited, used for fishing) I found the toilets to be clean andtidy, with basic facilities such as toilet roll, bins, hand dryers, sinks, and heating which waskept on during the night, and privateshower cubicles. The showers were strong and hot, but you did have to keep the button pressed inwhich was a bit annoying when you had an eyeful of shampoo, (I presume it was to save water.)
The location of the site from Ingoldmells is opposite Butlins on the A52 Roman Bank. It is quite a walk from the main Fantasy Island (1.3 miles, a good 30 minutes stroll) and the rest of the attractions.
Skegness Water Leisure Park has a lovely friendly pub on site called The Barn Inn, which is open while 12am over the weekend. I found it to be a very family friendly pub; everyone was so nice and polite as was all the staff. Despite the lateclosing time of the pub, the site overall was very quiet and very suited to families.
The site has a playground for older children with slides, swings etc, and is open until 10-30 pm.
On site there is also a shop where you can buy the basic essentials such as bread, milk, beans, pop, sandwiches and newspapers, all of which are reasonably priced as well considering its on a camping and caravanning site.
This site has been awarded a 3 star rating by the local tourist board, but I think it should be more like 4 stars as I was very impressed with the staff, the on site facilities and its location too.
We stayed from Thursday to Sunday, and you have to have vacated your pitch by 11am on the day you leave, but there is a fairly large car parkthat you are allowed to useuntil you leave the site.
If you are considering going camping in Ingoldmells / Skegness then please consider this beautiful site.
My partner and I would rate Skegness Water Leisure Park 8/10 overall.
Also a little tip,its not as easy as you think trying to find a site that accepts tents in Ingoldmells, so make sure you know where to go before you set offor you maybe driving around for ages trying to find somewhere to pitch!

Just realised we never left a review for this site last year.
We stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. Our pitch was level and next to the lake. The kids loved feeding the ducks and the carp bread whilst we were here.
The shower blocks were clean and very good, although the site was busy, if you choose your times carefully you never have to queue for the showers.
The wash up facilities were good, plenty of sinks and hot water.
The clubhouse/bar served excellent food and had entertainment on most nights. There is an outdoor play are outside for the kids which was popular. The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced.
Fantasy Island is close by and it has a inside area in case of rain, the kids loved going here.
There is always plenty to see and do in Skegness and one day we may go back, once we have gone everywhere else we want to go that is!

Visited this site twice within 6 weeks summer hols due to its location from home. We found it to be a great place for all the family, the kids enjoyed watching the water skiing (too young to have a go) The site is very spread out over alot of land you have an allocated pitch which has room around so not squashed in at all. The facilities were very good with new shower/toilet blocks- although get there early as they soon fill up and there does not appear to be a mop for campers to clean cubicles after themselves- showers are closed for cleaning and at night. The play-area is fantastic for kids just need the height /age rules enforcing so teenagers do not commander too much, a games room for them would be beneficial. Friendly staff on site but especially in the bar really made our evenings entertaining for the adults Well worth a visit

We have just returned from a four day break on this site. It was our 7th visit in 2 years we love it. The park is great fun for the kids. The pub is entertaining with good cold beer and the food is lovely. The atmosphere on the site is friendly and you are driven to your pitch promptly on arrival. You have plenty of room around you tent. My husband is a keen fisherman and caught his biggest carp ever this trip (14lb) so he was happy. The beach is about a 10 - 15 minute walk away. The only disappointing side to this trip was as it was a bank holiday weekend as you can imagine the site was very busy this means very heavy usage of the toilet block. The showers kept running out of water because of low pressure and the toilets were extremely unpleasant, smelly blocked and dirty, with no toilet roll in the lady's !

I knew when booking this site for the August bank holiday it was going to be busy.! On arrival we were promptly booked in and was shown to a muddy patch of land right by the car park,(even though 200 pitches had nice grass area) this part of the Caravan site should be made into a path, due to the amount of people that past through our pitch, during the day and night after returning from the bar which was just by the shop, close to the car park. The toilets were not clean during the day, toilet paper and other stuff was on the floor, un-flushed toilets etc. Showers left dirty. The site staff seemed polite but talk was kept very short, the site in general was kept tidy, even the dust bin lorry arrived nice an early in the morning to empty the large bins.! The site is not too far from the sea front, just a 15 min walk, the beach front was very good and you can walk for miles along the front into the different towns. The area is great for families and just couples, also you can take dogs onto the beaches where signed. We will be going back to the area but perhaps will not return to the site.

We have just come home from a weeks holiday. We were promptly taken to our pitch but then had to advise the staff member that we needed hook-up and so were moved again. The site was very windy and we were lucky that a nearby camper helped us our our tent would have ended up as a large kite! Despite the large hill the wind is an issue and the site would benefit from trees. The pitches were not designated and you just pitched in the general area you were shown. The fields were level and the grass was kept short. Unfortunately the grass was not collected when cut and it trailed all through the toilet and shower facilities as well as the tent. The showers and toilets were not clean and the ladies often ran out of toilet roll. The ladies showers sloped to the side so in each the soapy water ran to the next one - not very hygienic. The condition of the facilities may have been down to the users but I felt that they could have been cleaned more often and a mop and bucket provided to clean out after each use. The washing up area had no draining facility and so drying pots was a fiddle. The laundry closed at 5pm which was early when most people are out all day. I felt the shop had all of the basics, was reasonably priced and the lady was very friendly and helpful. We only went to the pub once and to be told they were only having a limited menu that night so we didn't stay. Skegness was a brilliant resort with loads to do whatever the weather. Will return to Skegness but not to this site.

As first time campers we found this site was great. A lot of space to pitch our 6 berth family tent. Toilets and showers where well kept and always lots of hot water, sometimes too hot. Drinking taps were well spaced out to fill water jugs. Staff where always helpful and friendly and the on site shop, cafe and pub was well maintained. Would recommend this site for all those Skeggie lovers as 2 mins from Butlins and Ingoldmells. Will def be going back this year before end of season.

This was about the 20th time we have stayed at this site. Every time we stay it is quite and normally we have good weather but the last bank holiday in may the weather took a turn for the worse but we stayed as long as we could. But the weather on Sunday afternoon was so bad we gave up about 4.30pm and set off for home , the showers and toilets are well maintained and the staff are all very friendly. The site it's self is well looked after and we will most definitely be back at least 4 more times this year.

We went as a group of 8 families, all in tents with electrical hook up, we booked in really quick and lead to our pitch's. This is a big field which was ideal for us to all pitch together :-) the shower blocks and toilets were very well maintained, kids had loads of space to play and even a big hill to roll down. We didnt use the onsite pub or lakes we went in skegvilles united to see the tracksuits :-) lol. The only down side we have is becasue lincolnshire is flat, it only needs a small bit of wind on this site and it seems to be blowing a hooly. At one stage it was out with the hammer and smash those pegs further into ground. Overrall this was a good site and not expensive :-)

Apart from the typical English weather the site has everything that you need including clean showers and good facilities. The shop was adequate and stocked fairly well and the staff were helpful as could be asked . Being a wheelchair user access was easy to all areas . We all look forward to returning there

Called up to book a 2 night stay and was advised just to come on up and should not be a problem. Arrived early evening and booked in at reception, we had to wait approx 10 minutes before we were shown to our pitch, and then had to advise him that we had just paid for electric so off we went and found an electric pitch. The pitch was right beside the toilet and shower block which we thought was great until we realized that the drinking water tap was broken and once pushed on would not shut off. This water was running and collected in a pool with nowhere to go and became stagnant which meant a really bad smell. This aside we had loads of room for our tent and car with no one around us. The tent field with electric hookups was really big and the large hill was great for my little boy to run up and down. The Play park on-site is really good and is visible from the Barn Inn. The food in the Barn Inn was good and not very expensive. Only thing is don't ask for something if its not on the menu. Kids meal says sausage beans and chips, well my little one doesn't like chips so asked for mashed potato, lets just say it took about 10 minutes to order it! I'm not impressed with this site but not un-impressed. May come back if we are up this way but wouldn't make an effort to come. Some good points and some bad points think you will either love it or hate it.

Nice and clean site run by nice friendly people. Pretty central for both Skeggy and Ingoldmells. Site pub is very nice (The Cheers Bar about 5 mins away is better). There is a shop on site but only stocks the bare minimum, again there is more choice within 5 mins walk (Wall Lane stores). The coffee shop on site did not seem open during our visit. We didn't try the on site water skiing but it looks fun and was not very busy. The showers do not stop on long but we never had to wait to use them. The very helpful gents who site the incoming tourers reminded us of max and paddy the sad comedy bouncers. We would use this site again.

We went to this very friendly site. Had a friendly welcome. On the site there is the barn pub which does fantastic meals at low cost. Childrens park, shop, very clean and modern toilet and shower blocks situated across the site. But only the problem I did have with the shower cubicles, is that they ought to do a raised level in the cubicles. As the water and grass gets everywhere. The showers are free but dont stop on for long.
The campsite is very open, so can get alot of wind, so would be ideal to plant some small trees to give shelter. There is ski cable. Do think the site ought to supply gas bottles that are already filled. As you only can buy gas by having a bottle filled up. I had to go to campshop for 1. Also I do think that they ought to let you leave the site at 12. Instead of 10am. Especially when you are packing tents up. All around at great time.

This was our first visit to this campsite and I ve got to say we were very impressed with the site. We arrived late on Friday night and we were quickly shown to our pitch. All the facilities were spot on and toilets and showers were cleaned regularly. The on site shop was basic but had sufficient stock for our needs. The only downside to the site was the geese that reside there they made lots of noise and left lots of droppings, however this is a minor problem that we got used to after a while. I would recommend this site to anyone and I hope to visit again when the weather is better.
