First time camping and dreading it. Husband said would be great for us and 3 kids. Booked on site for 2 nights during world cup {£32.00} so very reasonable. On arrival pleasant guy in reception and then got shown to our pitch, first impressions: clean, tidy and loads of space. Shower blocks were very clean and maintained to high standard. Kids loved the open space to play footie and massive hill in centre to climb up and roll down. Watched England v Portugal in the barn pub onsite and atmosphere electric until that fateful Ronaldo moment. All staff friendly and water activites eg; water skiing on site excellent. Situated across from Butlins in Skegness, so close to shops, market and fish+chip shop. All in all had a brill time and will be visiting site again and again and now a fully reformed camper. Enjoyed the site that much turned 2 more families into camping addicts aswell.

First time camping with my very first tent so have got no other sites to compare with. But the site was great and the staff were very helpful, there is loads of space and was set in some lovely countryside. The facilities were good the toilets were clean and were inspected a lot, there`s a pub on site with a playground for the kids and the beach and butlins is only a ten minute walk from the site. Me and the kids loved it and have booked to go again on the next half term.

This camp site was great. Me and my partner his youngest daughter and my dog all went, was the first time we'd ever been camping and what a fun few days we had. They have a good shower block with individual cubicles for privacy good clean toilets and outdoor sinks for washing up. The site was very clean and plenty to do. Not far from site is the pub called cheer's and it's a good place to go if you don't like to leave your dog alone as they allow you to take your dog in their all through out the pub even when eating, which I thought was great. Would deffinateley return again. Also at the side of where we were pitched was a small private run way for small planes which was interesting to watch them take off and land, but thankfully they don't take off at sleeping times. Overall it's a great site for family's and pets and thoroughly enjoyed our stay very pleasant!

Pub and entertainment was good, plenty of space to pitch tent (very flat also) and showers/toilets were fairly clean and modern. Unfortunately when we went the gale force winds were relentless, as a result our tent is ripped and three pole segments are split. (many people went home early like us!) It's a good site but it's so open that there's no shelter from the wind.

Well, we've just spent 6 nights at this excellent site and we will definitely be returning. It is ideally placed to enjoy the delights of Skegness and Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells and also the beach. The site itself is huge with plenty of space to pitch and was not crowded at all. It is nicely landscaped with lots of trees planted everywhere and the 2 lakes (one for fishing and the other for water skiing). I would have liked to have seen the water ski cabin flying the Union Jack the right way up but I guess that's just me.
The toilets and showers were mostly clean but you always get some dead heads who like to try and spoil things for people. My wife and daughter said that it was out of toilet paper every morning although i never suffered that problem in the gents.
The Barn Inn is a nice little pub with very reasonably priced food and beer - the only downside for me was that they allow smoking throughout which I think is a mistake, especially when a lot of children are present - but being a non smoking family we're a little biased anyway. There is also a play area attached to the pub so the children have something to do.
So as I said we will definitely be returning.

Stayed at this site for 10 days and was mainly impressed by it. It is now a large site that covers several fields. It takes caravans motor homes and tents with EHU available for all. There is also a large static area down to the bottom of the site. There are several toilet / shower blocks spread around the site. We found them reasonable though the cleaning left something to be desired, this could be down to the fact that for several days the site was full. The showers have plenty of hot water, I would advise taking some suitable waterproof footwear with you as no duckboards are supplied and the floor area gets dirty very quickly. The showers are free. There are adequate toilets and wash basins tho there was some queueing due to the site being full. Did not use the pot washing area. There are 2 launderettes, £2 token for a 20 min wash with large driers. There is fishing available on site and though I did not fish there were plenty being pulled out. The park is set around a ski-ing lake which is cable pulled. The cost of this is £10 13 & under and £14 for 14 & over, this is good value as everything you need is supplied and basic tuition is available in the cost. My kids loved it. There is an on site shop that sells most basics. While there is no play area as such there is usually plenty of space on each field away from the units where kids can play. There is a good dog walk down the bottom of the site at the back of the last row of static caravans which leads on to public footpaths if your feeling energetic. There is a large pub on site that does meals, they have a lunchtime and evening menu, prices from £3 to around £8 but most of the food is based on pub grub and basket meals. There is a large play area here with slides and stuff but it is mainly aimed at the younger children. There are plenty of reasonable prices eating pubs in the area, you can get a good meal in most for well under a tenner. We used and would highly recommend the Boathouse which is at the end of the lane that leads down to the beach. We had a roast dinner that cost £4.90. It was 3 - 4 good slices of meat from a carvery, roasts, potatoes and veg. This is available on Sunday as a help yourself carvery for only £5.95. You can sit in a long conservatory overlooking the beach and sea to eat or drink. On a cold or wet night you still have the view, on a good day you can watch the kids play on the beach. Up the road is Fantasy Island, Europe's biggest market and fun fair for the kids. If you are going to use the fun fair get a copy of the local tourist information guide before you go as there is a voucher inside, if you buy £18 of tokens you get £18 free. These can be spent at anytime making it excellent value. There is also a great pound shop now on the main road opposite the entrance to fantasy island. If you go school holiday time and want to lose the kids for a day contact the sports centre as they have activity days out for the children, from horse riding to snowboarding sailing etc. The cost is around £20 including all transport and my kids have used it on several occasions and loved it every time. Might be worth enquiring about a key card as it may save you some money.

We visited this campsite the day before the school summer holidays began. It was very busy but it didn't feel overcrowded as they gave you plenty of pitch space. The campsite is huge with a fishing lake and cable water ski lake. We were pitched right by the fishing lake and it was very relaxing watching the fishermen.
The campsite is closer to Ingoldmells than to Skegness but the buses run regularly from the end of the road and it is about a 3 or 4 mile walk to Skegness if you are feeling energetic.
The toilets were clean and never busy, the shop sold all the essentials including cold beer and the cafe was great for breakfast. The bar/restaurant was very nice and had a garden with a well used children's play area.
There was a fish and chip shop and convenience store at the end of the road and the beach was a short walk away.
I would definitely reccomend this campsite, there is plenty to do for all the family.

As a family of 4 we visited the site for the 21 and July. The site is very large and was by no means busy, even for this time of the year which was good. The pub/restaurant was very good as was the entertainment and it has a good play area for the children. The only real disappointment was the toilet and shower facilities. They were always out of toilet paper during the evening/over night and were often very dirty, including what could only be described as bodily fluids up the walls of two of the cubicles (which was there for both days). There were four or five showers, one of which was not working. These were however reasonably clean. For this reason and this reason only I doubt we would visit the site again.

This was my 4th visit to this site and it was as well maintained as ever. It is amazingly quiet for such a large site. The warden patrols the site at night & does an excellent job of maintaining the peace. The site has all the usual facilities as well as water skiing, fishing, pub, shop - the beach is a 10-15 minute walk away & buses run past the site to Skeggy & Ingoldmills every 10 minutes (can be cheaper than parking the car & then you can have a pint). There is a chippy at the top of the road. The pitches are are allocated by the warden according to type & requirements, ie singles and groups on top field (out of the way) fishermen near the fishing lake & family's with kids near other families. I like this site & I recommend it for its standards, facilities & location.

Have just returned from a stay here in our tent. It is a huge site, so even being half term week we had loads of space, there was lots of room for the children to play football, fly their kites and run up and down the big hill in the middle! We found the toilets and showers very clean and modern, the showers were warm every time we visited, they were also very quiet - no ques even at 8am! We will certainly be returning here later in the summer and would recommend to families and singles/couples due to it being so spacious and quite! First class

Well what a pleasant surprise! I thought we were mad going to Ingoldmells on a bank holiday, I had visions of units crammed in all available spaces, noise, and much more, but no, this site is very strict about making sure units are well spaced out, and didn't seem at all crowded. There is a separate area for tents, a pub at the entrance and you can watch or have a go at the water skiing. The showers weren't very hot and though they came to clean the blocks this wasn't done very thoroughly. Ingoldmells is always very busy and if you like markets there is a big one there. The beach was nice and clean and the sea doesn't go out a long way as it does in Skeg. If you fancy a walk over the field at the back of the site there is a lovely pub by the church (can't remember the name) but it does lovely meals, the owners are very welcoming and they let dogs in the bar area. Charges are expensive but then they are everywhere here at peak times. £23.50 p.n.Van, awning 2 dogs. Though it was a pleasant surprise I don't think I would choose this site if I were to go again I would choose somewhere smaller.

We stayed here over May bank holiday, no need to book just turn up, the site is very big and never gets full. Skegness is 2 miles away, Ingoldmells about a mile in the other direction so easy to bike it everywhere, and being Lincolnshire it's nice and flat. The only bad things about this site was that the showers were cold, and once half the toilets were blocked with bog roll (it only takes a few dobbers on site). We will visit again and hopefully they will have fixed the showers.

A nice site, got taken to a pitch that was full and then bought all the way back to the first field. No drains at the water stands meant the surrounding area by the stand was always muddy. Toilets were excellent, showers were warm but the heads are a little low. The bar is ok but stops serving food at 8pm!! which is far too early and when we were there, the entertainment was canclled every night except Friday and Saturday because there was not enough people in the bar! Smoking is allowed through out the bar which is not good for people with children. The shop is well stocked but very small. This park is ideal for fishing and water skiing and pleasant to stay at and use for a base for using the local bars and clubs, but be careful when walking back as the entrance is very poorly lit at night. We will be going back next year as it was ideally placed for the local area

We were very impressed with this site. Reception staff were very welcoming and we were shown to our pitch. The site has two lakes, one for fishing and one which has a cable ski around it. The kids enjoyed watching the skiers. There is also a small airstrip so a few light aircraft took off and landed at times. Lots of ducks about, which were always pleased for some bread!
All the toilet/shower blocks looked very modern and were kept clean, but the showers were very weak. The on-site pub was nice, not over priced as some are, and had a lovely big garden with a large play area for the kids, so it was nice to have a drink with the kids happy playing. The meals were also very reasonably priced, the usual pub food. We had a meal for the four of us with drinks for around £20, which I thought was very good.
Shop on site too, which has most things you would need, although we only used it to buy daily papers so dont know how the prices were like for other items.
The site is set quite away back from the main sea-side resort, so is nice and quiet, but well within walking/short drive distance for Skegness or Ingoldmells. We will definitely return.

July 2005 Along with all the other reviews agree that this is a decent campsite. However we booked an electric pitch and felt that we were all herded in to get around the hook up which created difficulty in moving the car safely without hitting ropes or windbreaks kids toys etc. We also felt that our tent was too big (its about 15-20ft) for just 2 people (but we have to have room for 2 dogs aswell)
The showers were great and free the pub onsite was good but in no way is enough for the site or even half of it. As many people had dogs there was a big lack in outdoor seating. Don't think we would go again.
