 Spent 3 nights here during Whitsun week. We had 2 boys aged 3 and 6 with us. There wasn't a huge amount for them to do but they soon found themselves running around with the other kids. All kids need is an imagination. Not lots of toys.
There was plenty of freezer and fridge space for everyone. There was never a queue at the very clean toilets and showers. The barn would have been even more useful if it had rained but the kids loved it anyway.
I cannot find any complaints or improvements to make in hind site. The best thing about the site was being able to see the boys most of the time.
At 10pm the noise from the kids disappeared and the site was quiet. If you want a safe, quiet after 10pm, friendly site this is for you. Surrounding areas like Southwold are great too.

Just spent three nights at this lovely site! Pitches are large, around edge of three fields when we stayed, with plenty of space in the middle for smaller children to play, there was also a separate large field to play on.
All the pitches were level, nd the grass was recently cut. No electric hook ups, which was fine for us, but a freezer and fridges in cart lodge, accessible at all times, so could freeze blocks, and also store cold foods, extremely handy!
Children loved the barn with table football and table tennis.
We had the BBQ on the Friday night, enjoyed burgers, sausages, chicken, potatoes, salad, reasonable price. They also sell bacon butties on a Sunday, and have croissants to preorder if wanted.
Three toilets and two showers in female room, presume similar for boys, also a wet room and family shower room with toilet, didn't have to wait. Showers warm and clean, with space to dress without getting everything wet.
The reception attached to the house was open all day, no shop, but has some essential camping replacements was able to get some replacement matches when ours got damp!
Quiet location, not too far from Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Framlingham.
Very family friendly site, felt very safe, highly recommended.

We've just had two nights of late season ( for us) camping with Maria and Guy at The Croft and everything other reviewers have noted was true for us - made very welcome by our hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble, lovely clean washroom facilities, well kept site, etc.
Maria and Guy really care about their guests, work very hard and deserve every success.
The site is well located for exploring this part of Suffolk whether you choose to walk, cycle ( as we did) or drive.

Absolutely wonderful time. A lovely warm welcome, bbq cooked for us with lots of delicious food, boys free to wander off and explore alone, beautiful walk along a stream, toasted marshmallows around the fire bowl and a yummy cooked breakfast before we came home.
Toilets and showers were immaculately clean and had underfloor heating. We all enjoyed a family game of table tennis and table football in the barn. Maria and Guy do a fantastic job.
We will definitely be returning. Felt like we were staying with friends. Thank you.

This campsite is brilliant since it is run by people who go camping themselves and know what makes a campsite run well. The fields are divided up into small areas and generous reserved pitches with plenty of space.
One thing we really appreciated was on Friday evening the owners provide a BBQ (chargeable but fair price), for people who arrive and just want to get their tents up and eat (brilliant idea, wish more campsites would do this).
Lots of open space, and two covered barns one with picnic benches and one full of toys/games such as table-tennis tables, and children's ride-on toys.
Facilities are very good, with very clean shower block with plenty of hot water which are all free. Again, its all about the detail, such as plenty of hooks in the showers, and stools for changing shoes etc.

We just spent 10 very happy days on our first and definitely not our last visit to the Croft Campsite. Guy and Maria are superb hosts, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, they really care about their guests.
We felt very sad as we left feeling like we were leaving friends. They both work extremely hard to make sure your visit is a pleasant one. The toilet and shower facilities are spotless with constant hot water, hand wash, loo roll etc Good indoor washing up sinks and washer/dryer that can be used for a small charge.
The site does not have a shop but emergency items such a Gaz for lights can be purchased at reception and there is a good co-op in Laxfield a short drive away which is open until 10 every night. The Friday night BBQ ( which was for over 90 people that week) charged at a nominal fee is excellent and served in the undercover barn in all weathers. The barn has fridges and freezers for the use of campers.
The site is situated in a lovely spot not far from many areas of interest or the coast with large pitches that are not overcrowded with plenty of free space for children to play safely.
This is traditional camping at it's best.

This was our first time camping and with 2 toddlers. Great site very welcoming hosts. Immaculate toilets and showers. Our pitch was lovely. As it was our first time Maria gave us a corner pitch which we loved. The pit for fire was the best as once we got our children to sleep we enjoyed sitting in front of fire. As newbies the fact there was a fridge and freezer on site really helped. Can't wait to go again.

Stayed for my second weekend in 12 months at The Croft Campsite. One year on it is even better than last year, the site has matured beautifully and the facilities have been improved even further! Maria and Guy are fabulous hosts they really do make you feel welcome. I cannot praise the Croft highly enough, I love the site and the local area. We will all be back soon!

Being a very fussy camper when it comes to facilities; I cannot fault these spotless toilet and shower blocks. It was a busy bank holiday week-end but we never had to queue and they were always kept clean. The owners Guy and Maria are obviously very passionate about their business and make you feel so welcome and will go out of their way to do anything to help. There is loads of space between the tents. A play barn with table tennis and some ride on toys for the little ones. An excellent bbq on Friday nights, very good value. Croissants available every day and bacon sandwiches on a Sunday. What more can you ask for? A nice walk through the fields to the next village which did take us longer than anticipated! but we did get to the pub eventually! Close to Halesworth a lovely town, and Southwold for the beach.

We had a wonderful stay at the croft campsite, the owners were really friendly. We went as a group of 4 tents & had plenty on space around us for the kids to play games. You can hire a fire pit, and there is a play barn where the kids can go and play (a few ride on, table tennis, table football) which was nice. They do a bbq on a Friday night which was delicious & well worth the money, especially after just pitching a tent, the last thing we wanted to do was start cooking!
Lastly, the toilet & shower facilities were great, clean & constantly maintained, loo roll topped up etc. We went on a bank holiday, so a busy time, but the owners did not cram in as many people as possible, so we still had the space & did not have to wait for the facilities at all. A great stay!

Pre booked this trip on the internet for two pitches 4 adults and two dogs. When we arrived we were met by Maria, what a lovely lady, she showed as around and to our pitch. All pitches are very spacious we have a large tent and an awning which fitted with lot of space left for our vehicle as well. First time my wife has camped so all was great so far. We had a BBQ with Maria and Guy on Fri Night which was really good value and well cooked by Guy. The toilet block was very clean heated and well stocked with toilet paper and soap.
We ordered croissants for Sat breakfast and bacon sandwiches
For Sunday which were delicious.
The owners Guy and Maria are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
I thought that I would never get my wife to come camping but she can't wait to come back to this great site.
Thank you Guy and Maria for making our stay so special.

Fantastic stay at this friendly campsite. Excellent new facilities block, with hot water and heated flooring! Check-in and out were smooth and easy and the rent-able fire pits were a lovely bonus. Plenty of friendly local advice.

We stayed a night at the Croft Campsite and we very impressed with everything. It's very tidy and well run in every department. Maria and Guy are very friendly and helpful and went out their way to make sure we had all we needed. The facilities are all very new and in exceptional condition making the basics a real pleasure. We will definitely return and stay again and recommend it to everyone! Well done guys keep up the good work!

Another great weekend at the Croft. Again received a warm welcome from the owners, Guy and Maria.
A BBQ is offered on Friday evenings with a choice of meat and salads. Ideal after a long drive and erecting the tent on the generous sized pitches.
The showers/toilets were continuously cleaned throughout our stay and I appreciate the socket for my hairdryer. The washing up facilities were also very clean.
Although there are no pitches with electricity at the moment we had the use of fridge and freezer in the cartlodge. This lodge also has picnic tables and could be used if raining. For the children there are table tennis tables and plenty of space away from the tents to play.
The site is ideally located for both the countryside and the coast.
We will definitely return.

We've just returned from a fabulous camping holiday spent at The Croft which is a brand new site opened Summer 2016 and as a result has lovely modern facilities which enhanced our experience. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners Guy and Maria, who welcomed us to their site with open hours and a big smile!
The pitches are larger than many sites we've stayed at which is great - particularly if you have children and pup tents etc. The toilet block and showers are brand new and were cleaned to an immaculately high standard by Maria.
The showers are lovely and powerful and are free so no panicking to try and find 20pences etc. My only tip here would be for the ladies - to avoid wet hair, take a shower cap as the shower head angle isn't adjustable.
The pot washing facilities are also kept spotlessly clean with large sinks and plenty of hot water.
The barn is set up with table tennis tables which is great for those rainy days although we were really lucky and only had one wet day during our stay - the advantage of the South East. Then the HIGHLIGHT of our stay were the two fabulous evening spent with Maria and Guy and their lovely family in the open barn.
The first night was a trial run of making homemade pizzas cooked on the fabulous clay cob oven - this was a night of delicious food with my husband deciding it is THE BEST pizza he has ever tasted. And he's fussy! Downed with a few glasses of wine (bring your own. ) and then be prepared to laugh the night away - particularly if you are fortunate to be joined by Maria's mum and dad who are great characters! My husband literally had tears streaming down his face with laughter.
On Friday evening, we joined the Croft Barbecue night - fabulous burgers, chicken, sausages and salad cooked beautifully by Guy on their great barbecue and another great night of fun and laughter and tasty food! The chicken was cooked to perfection as Guy has clearly being practicing hard throughout the summer months!
On our remaining evenings, we were able to enjoy the clear starlit sky whilst keeping cosy around the fire pits which you can hire for the week - fabulous for those toasted marshmallows (which are available to purchase low cost at the Reception along with a few other 'essentials' - just in case)
The reception area is really welcoming with tea coffee and juice available which I have to say was very welcome after our 5 hour journey from Manchester prior to pitching our tent. There are lots of leaflets providing information about what to do in the area and Maria and Guy are also a great source of information about some great places to visit locally.
Maria and Guy have clearly worked really hard to establish a great new campsite and I'm really looking forward to returning and will definitely be encouraging the rest of our family to join us as it is a brilliant family site. As the trees/bushes that they have planted between pitches become established over the next couple of years, this will be another great feature of the site providing that extra bit of privacy between the pitches.
We were sorry to leave and will definitely be returning. Maria hinted that she may be arranging a 'slow gin' making weekend which definitely sounds like fun and I'll be keeping an eye out for!
