Just returned from here today, what an excellent park.Shower block is nearly new, although crowded at peak times of the day 0800-0900 & 1600-1730.

Shop and Staff superb.Pitches are large and well spaced apart, no club which with young children was what we wanted.Pool was Ok plenty of seats to watch your children from. We will definitely be back to this site.

Lovely site very clean all round, toilets/showers very impressive. Quite on the site 10.30 - 11.00pm unless you have noisy neighbours (like us). We stayed on pitch 84 very large but muddy when we got there. Had to pitch further away from the EHU which was situated on the next pitch (not very good lay out), we needed an extension which was supplied by the owners at no extra cost (they were very helpful).

But don't forget the fly spray we were swarmed with them also a few other pitches, due to this we only had a week there and not the two that was booked.

Also had a nasty furry rodent visit not nice OMG.

Overall very good site.

Stayed here for 6 nights with the wife and 2 kids 13 and 11 the campsite is clean the showers and toilets are immaculate the camp shop is well stocked with the essentials bread milk hot snacks

Morning papers etc st austell is about 7 miles away and there are some good beaches nearby there is no bar or club on site so it is pretty quite in the evenings the pitches on site are large 32ft/32ft tents and caravans are mixed

The swimming pool on site is good plenty of seats and loungers even though the site was full

I would recommend this site to friends and family and we will be going back we had a great time in Cornwall

Just returned from a week at Tregarton. This is a lovely well looked after site, shop well stocked, the heated pool was great for the kids with a good sitting area around the pool. Showers/toilets was kept very clean considering we had a lot of rain. The site did not get water logged where we was Pitch 70 and there is plenty of space between units so you didn't feel on top of one another. There was no club on the site which was great for us and anybody with a young family everybody was quite for 11.00pm. There is lots to do in the area. Would definitely recommend this site to anybody

Hi just to say that a return visit to the park after a break of 20 year how the site has change and so much better. The facilities are really first class and well looked after site unfortunately the weather did not help our visit to the area as I was so wet and windy. My only complaint of the was was having to move pitches after the first 4 day to the next door pitch and after talking the caravan owner that moved onto the pitch we were on he could not understand why we had to move as he would have just as happy to have used the pitch we had to move to. And the only other criticism was that the shop in mid season was only open 2hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon which meant if you wanted a takeaway from the shop you had to order before 4 and to collect before 6-30. Tennis court shut at 6 and swimming pool shut a 6 as well so when reception closes all other facilities close as well. But as I say the park is well maintained. I'm returning to the park late in august and we will see hopefully with better weather

We arrived at this campsite after a long 7 hour drive. We arrived 2 hours early and tried our luck at reception. Was met by a very helpful gentleman who said our pitch was empty so we could get on early.

Pitch was on a slope which was slightly disappointing as just couldn't get the beds right in our bedroom.

Site was great, clean, tidy and very welcoming.

Our kids loved the outdoor swimming pool in all weathers! Even the rain.

Toilet blocks were clean and water nice and hot. Only pitfall is that they close them 1200-1300 for cleaning which caused problems with 3 children. Think it would have been better to close one side and then the other meaning there were always facilities for people to use.

Site shop is well stocked and take-away service is great idea although we didn't need to use it.

Campsite is only a short distance away by car from a lovely beach. (£2.50 for car park) and the town of Mevagissey isn't far either.

We would definitely visit again. A well organised and well run campsite.

Our first ever whole week away in a new tent miles away from home! (N.Yorks) We had one day of very heavy rainfall but this never effected our pitch and others by the looks, drained very well.

We absolutely loved this camp site, our pitch was large, surrounded by a large hedge which was good for privacy!

New shower blocks which were always very clean and tidy!

Did not venture much into the shop but from what we saw it had most things that you need and not over priced considering you are on a campsite! We used their ice pack services which was very convenient and cheap!

You do need a car to get anywhere-no local pubs in walking distances! Would recommend the 'Sharks Fin' in Mevagessey for fish and chips!

We would definitely go back to this site!

This is a wonderful site for those wanting a quiet holiday in an unspoilt and beautiful part of Cornwall.

Facilities are superb. The owners and all the staff are friendly and helpful. If you do visit accept the offer of having your outfit sited and leveled. Some of the pitches are a slightly sloping - as ours was - but Robert sited our caravan using their own blocks and it was perfectly level for the whole time we were there.

The pool is warm and sheltered and even when the site was full was never too busy. Some afternoons we got it to ourselves.

All surrounding beaches are quiet - several dog friendly. Mevagissey is a charming little port and there is an exciting ferry trip to Fowey to be tried if you don't mind being on the open sea in a small boat.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are only 2 miles away and they are wonderful. There is also an excellent farm shop there.

Our only difficulty was finding a safe place to give our big dog a long walk but eventually discovered the Pentewan Valley Walk which is off road and very pretty. Local lanes near the site were narrow and sometimes cars travelled too fast.

This part of Cornwall is great for visiting lots of other resorts within a one hour drive including St Ives and Penzance.

We chose this site based on the previous reviews and we were not disappointed. The owners are friendly and made us (particularly our children) feel very welcome. We would make the following comments:-

Pitches - A lot bigger normal with excellent drainage. We experienced a heavy downpour one late afternoon and within an hour the pitch was dry again.

Shop/Take Away - Fairly well stocked with the basics. Not too expensive. We only got takeaway once but that was good value for money.

Showers/Toilets - The showers and toilets were always clean. The showers were hot and powerful although extremely slippy. I now understand why a couple of people took bath mats with them!

Pool - Lovely decking area and as we went out of season, we mostly had the pool to ourselves. Heated which was a bonus on the cloudy days.

Park - Our children (aged 7 and 10) found the park a little boring but that maybe due to the fact that there weren't any other children on the site.

Laundry - Never used this but did notice that the washing machines are £4 which includes washing power and softener.

Site - The site was very pretty with lots of trees and flowers and the occasional rabbit running around. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming from the day we arrived to the day we left. Our fellow campers were also very friendly from our neighbours to people over in the other fields who you just said 'good morning' to. Everyone seemed to want to talk which was great.

The only negative we have is that the site is a little bit 'out in the sticks'. However, we would definitely recommend this site and would definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful time at this site.

When we arrived we were checked in and then taken to our pitch where Rob pitched and levelled the caravan. The pitch was spacious, although we were under a tree and left with most of it on the roof of our van! This also caused a problem for the wifi, but having spoken to the site owners, it was the only pitch to have a problem!

All facilities were clean and although it was a bank holiday we didn't struggle to use them. The shop was well stocked and all the staff were chatty and helpful. In fact we came home with a new taste for cider, having tried the local brew sold in the shop!

The pool was great and we were very lucky with the weather so our boys had the time of their lives. When they had exhausted the water they spent the rest of their time making friends at the playground which was clean and imaginatively laid out.

There is so much near to do and 6 nights was not enough for us. We will return again.

We have just returned today from the best park we've ever stayed at!

At St Austell we were greeted with a horrendous rain storm causing several of the roads to flood, 10 minutes later we arrived at Tregarton to glorious sunshine - apparently the storm had missed them completely.

First impressions were of a very well kept park, with a friendly and efficient welcome. We found our pre-booked pitch (46) easily and were really pleased with the huge size as we have a large tent and canopy which can be tight on some sites. However this was just the opposite and the big decision of the day was which direction to pitch it as we had so many options! It was separated from its neighbour with bushes, shrubs and a small fence. The outlook in all directions was stunning.

We pitched in the sunshine but 3 hours later the storm from St Austell caught us and the heavens opened and our pitch was becoming very waterlogged. My husband went up to the shop and the guy there assured us the land at Tregarton was very quick draining and he wasn't wrong, within half an hour of the rain stopping everywhere was drained and we could hardly tell it had been raining.

Dustbins and water were housed in honeysuckle covered wood structures and were everywhere - none of the pitches had a long walk. These were emptied every morning around half nine, the grass seemed to be cut on a daily basis as well.

The site was about three quarters full but it never seemed busy or crowded. It was quiet during the day and even quieter at night apart from a dawn chorus crow which had my hubbie muttering something about shotguns!

The shower/toilet facilities have recently been refurbished and were fantastic. They are housed in, what I presume, was an old cattle shed / barn which looks rustic but inside what a surprise. The ladies block had 5 showers all with very large cubicles, movement sensors to turn the shower on which came out of the ceiling, loads of hooks and a seat with plenty of room to get dressed in the dry. I went at all times from 7am to 11.30am and never once queued for anything. There were also about 8 toilets and 8 sinks with hot and cold water and decent mirrors. Plus there was a privacy washing cubicle.

The swimming pool was heated to 80 degrees and in a lovely setting with recliners, sun chairs and plenty of seating.

The shop was not too bad priced for a site shop and had a good range of goods, however (and this is our only tiny gripe) the opening hours were very restricted, we would have probably used it more if it was open when we realised we had forgotten something. The nearest large stores (Asda and Tesco both 24hours) were in in St Austell.

The nearest beach is Caerhays which is dog friendly but busy with families with children so we preferred the one end of Gorran Haven as the dog could run and swim without glaring parents. Gorran Haven was a lovely little place to wander around as well - walk up to the top of the coast road / path and find the houses only a few million £ can buy! You can see them from the beach as well. Mevagissey is lovely (the harbour carpark is the best) if you can bear scraping the car on the narrow streets, however by the state of some of the walls everybody does it. Fowey is worth a drive and a wonder round to see the boats and harbour area. Some lovely shops as well. Only our opinion but St Mawes seemed pretentious but the bakery did pretty authentic pasties and the King Harry ferry across to the Falmouth side was a treat. You can see a lot of the tankers close up that are now being stored in that area.

Would we return? Yes I would recommend and return with no hesitation.

We stayed at Tregarton Park for 9 nights from early-mid June. As you can choose and reserve your pitch we booked pitch 98.

Firstly - excellent tariff as they do a discount out of peak season if you stay for 7 or more nights. I think it worked out to approx £10 per night inc EHU and no charge for an awning.

The approach to the park is good and upon entering my initial impression was good - nicely landscaped and well maintained.

Check in was quick and we were shown to our pitch by one of the friendly staff who then used his Shogun to pitch and level our caravan. The pitch itself was HUGE! There were trees and hedge row behind us and small trees separating us from our neighbouring pitches.

Waterpoints and waste bins were conveniently located - either towards the top or down the slope from our pitch. There were 2 chemical disposal points at the top of the park (one was by the wash block)so this did mean my hubby had a slight walk to empty the toilet.

The washblock was lovely - the showers had proper cubicles with a glass door and were fully enclosed (no clinging shower curtains!). There was plenty of room to change and dry and hooks to hang clothes etc. Plenty of hot water but the shower head/temp was not adjustable but not a problem. The showers were always spotlessly clean.

There is a small shop housed within the Reception area and I thought the prices were really good for a small park shop - e.G. 99p (I think) for 6 free range eggs. They also had a takeaway food service and the meals were quite well priced but we didn't actually sample any during our stay.

We had some rain during our stay and a couple of quite wet days. I was concerned about the pitch becoming boggy after a bad experience at a park in Northumberland last Summer. Our pitch at Tregarton was also at the bottom of a slope. However, no need to worry as it didn't even get soggy in the slightest.

Gorran Haven is about a 2-3 mile drive but we preferred Caerhays (also known as Porthluney Cove) which was about 3 miles. There is a cafe and beach shop as well as toilets at Caerhays.

St. Austell is approx. A 20 min drive and there are plenty of attractions in the immediate area.

Would we go back - 100% YES!

Have just returned from an enjoyable weeks stay at Tregarton Park. Pitches were spacious and well marked out with all the amenities close at hand, especially the swimming pool which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed.
Close to Mevagissey and St Austell well sited for exploring the south east. Definitely will visit again.

Having recently returned from our first visit to Tregarton Park in Cornwall, I feel I should write a short review of our visit there.

On arrival, we were very impressed by the presentation of the park, beginning with the manicured grass areas on the driveway approach. On arrival at reception, the booking in process was faultless, the ordered hook-up cable waiting, and the pleasantness of the staff was a great 'kick off' to our holiday.
We had pre-booked online, pitch 131 in Spring Meadow, and on arriving at our pitch, found it even better than expected. It was a huge pitch, with more than enough room for our Outwell Nebraska XL & vehicle, separated from the next pitch by a timber fence. Both Drinking & Waste water were within a few paces walk, as were the refuse bins (emptied daily), all housed in a pleasant timber shelter.
Being Bank Holiday week, the site was full, but at no time did it seem to be crowded. The toilet / shower block was superb, probably the best we have ever seen, and neither myself or my wife experienced any queueing for the facilities at any time.
The site shop provides almost anything you could want, and once again, the staff were very pleasant. We didn't use the pool, but it looked fabulous.

Overall, the site was fantastic, as I have said, it was full, but after 10:00pm, all went quiet, allowing for peaceful nights.

With the local beach (dog friendly) only a mile & half away, and Mevagissey being 2 miles, the site is perfectly situated, and nowhere in Cornwall seems too far from a great base. Would we return?, without a doubt!

Fantastic site everything was spot on for us. We went with a party of 6 caravans with kids from age 4 to age 15 and everyone was happy with the site so much so we booked again for next year before we left.
The owners were very kind and pitched us all together this made it easier for us adults to keep an eye on our kids when going back and forth between our vans.
The site was spotless, the showers are very new and were cleaned to a high standard. Bins were emptied regular and the shop was well stocked with fresh food, frozen food, drink, ice creams, sweets, cakes, pasties, toiletries, camping accessories, really with everything you might need.
The local beech we visited was lovely it also had a cafe and shop. Pizza hut, asda, tesco, gif tshops, pubs are all close although you will need to go buy car approx 10 min drive.
