Stayed at this site with my grandchildren they enjoyed themselves very much. Very good facilities. The only thing I found it was a little expensive to stay more then a few days although it has everything on site. I cannot fault the site it is well run and very clean. The staff were very helpful, the shop was well stocked, although we did not use the cafe it looked very welcoming and reasonably priced and the cakes looked lovely and tempting. We will return again and perhaps this time have a nice romantic meal there.

Family run site, always friendly and helpful.
The site was kept clean, and the toilets was very clean and plenty of hot water for showers.
An excellent cafe, and a very large indoor play room for adults & children plus outdoor play area for the children,
There is a good walk for dogs off the site down the footpath next to the site entrance, it take you to a wooded area.
If in the area again, we would stay here.

Just spent 5 days at chestnut meadow, and would find it hard to find a negative point about the site. Washroom facilities were new and very clean, washing up area was large, staff were very friendly and helpful, plenty of things to keep children amused pool table, snooker, play area for the kids.
Shop sold all the basics to get bye. Cafe to eat in and take away which was reasonably priced. Only 5-10 minute drive to large supermarket. And only 10 minute drive to bexhill town and the beach.
Also extremely large pitches and so you're not feeling like sardines like some other sites I've been to, in all a good campsite.

This is a fantastic family run campsite. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and I even witnessed the staff helping someone fix their broken tent pole. That's what I call customer service!
The cafe had a lot to offer including the sale of alcoholic beverages and the homemade cakes looked amazing, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try them, but would definitely try them next time we visit.
The wash facilities were extremely clean and had plenty of basin's and showers. The washing up area was also clean and had ample sinks.
The site also encouraged visitors to recycle.
Overall this is a well thought out campsite which caters for all families and couples. We would definitely visit again.

We stayed at this lovely site for a couple of nights last weekend. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had a guide to show us to our pitch, who explained about the site at the time. We had a very relaxing time and the children made lots of new friends.
The playground is excellent as it caters for more than just toddlers which my 10 year old was more than happy with. The Cafe serves excellent food at very reasonable prices and the homemade cakes are just marvellous!
We will most definitely be back but feel that booking in advance will become a must as once this site is discovered by more people it will be very busy indeed. The only thing that may be useful would be a little map of the site as to the layout of things please.

Just returned from a two night stay at Chestnut Meadow and have nothing but extremely positive things to say.
Pitch – very spacious and flat.
Toilet and shower facilities – brand new and immaculately clean.
Café – Great food (really good breakfast) and my son said that the huge slab of homemade chocolate cake (with chocolate buttons on the top) was the nicest he has tasted - ever! We did not eat there in the evenings but another couple told us that they had a very good and reasonably priced meal.
Games room – the kids really loved it and we hardly saw our son during the stay but knew exactly where he could be found!
The owners and staff – A family run business - genuinely nice people who cannot do enough for you. We were shown to our pitch and shortly thereafter Stephen (the grounds man) appeared and asked us if we would like a hand with the tent which was greatly appreciated and meant we got settled in very quickly and were able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
A perfect weekend and we will most certainly be returning.

This is, without doubt, the best campsite we've been to so far.
The toilet block is new, clean and well thought out. The chemical loo point was clean, the right height, and again well thought out, this gets a special mention as it's a pet hate of my husbands! The playground is securely fenced off for little ones and near enough to the cafe that you can sit outside and relax with a meal or cup of tea while you toddler plays.
The cafe is great, the homemade cakes are wonderful and not to be missed, the meals are lovely and the breakfasts are fabulous.
Above all the thing that makes this site the best we've been to is the people running it. It has every thing you would expect from say a caravan club site but you get more, you get the welcome benefit of a friendly service. We were shown to our pitch rather than having to negotiate a map, there was always someone on hand to give us knowledge of things to see and do. One morning when we had to leave very early to go to Goodwood they were even lovely when they were knocked up to raise the barriers for our very early day trip! We were so embarrassed, we never noticed the sign saying the barriers are shut between 11pm and 7am!
The lane to the campsite is narrow, however they made sure the path was clear for our departure so we didn't have to do any maneuvering!
The only downsides to our holiday were caused by the cafe being shut during the week (campsite very quite midweek as we were away before the school holidays were in full swing) and some of the staff we met at local attractions being quite miserable and unfriendly, ie the staff in the shop at Camber Sands mocking all the customers especially the foreign holidaymakers.

Wow! We have just got back from a long weekend at this fabulous site. Believe me, we mulled over whether we should submit a positive review in case we were never able to book again!
Previous reviews have captured it (apart from the reviewer who noted that the loos were dirty and then complained that they were closed for cleaning)! Weird! But the fact is, when the shower blocks are closed the Cafe has toilets which are available so unless you want to shower between 11 and 12 it is difficult to see the problem.
The toilets were never dirty while we were there. There is a big family bathroom to save Mums going between boys and girls facilities. The food in the Cafe is excellent and has already been said, very reasonably priced (dinner for 3 adults plus alcoholic drinks for under £30); the staff amazing and the pitches generous.
There are lovely walks directly from the site and the beach is about 10 mins drive. We have booked for the 1st weekend in September to make sure we get a spot. Well done Andy and Co. We loved you all and cannot wait to come back.

We visited last weekend for the first time. What a great site, along the same par as a Caravan Club site but with much much friendlier staff.
The toilets are great. My two girls (10 & 7) came running back telling us we must see the toilets. The female toilet looks like its has pink marble throughout and the mens blue marble.
We were given a pitch with electric, water and waste drainage. They are good size pitches and the satellite signal is great.
I would say one of the best thing about this site is the cafe. Full English Breakfast for £5. The food is great and they don't charge over the top for anything. Their homemade cakes are to die for. It also sells alcohol at sensible prices. We were there when England played their 2nd match and the cafe was packed and great fun.
There is also a play area which is different to normal ones and is more about climbing than swinging. There is an indoor sports hall with snooker, pool, table tennis, fuseball and various kids board games. You need to pay a deposit for rental of balls etc but that is then returned, therefore making the games free.
There is also a nature quiz for the kids. They are given a sheet of leaves to identify and questions to answer. Each tree has a lovely carved leave to lean on and information about that tree. Once they have completed the questionnaire they then get a lolly. Although mine were sent back because they didn't write the latin names down, which we thought was hilarious, making them work for their lolly.
We tried to walk into Bexhill and gave up 45 mins later and caught a bus the rest of the way. There's not much around the site within walking distance, but enough to do on site for a weekend.
We will certainly be back. May it keep this good reputation for many years to come.

Excellent site. Warm friendly staff. Lovely new cafe with yummy breakfast and evening meals so no need to cook! Prefect for me as I hate cooking. Forgot to mention the amazing choice of cakes and the apple pie second to none! Had that while watching England play.
Small shop with all the things you might forget and not expensive. Shower / toilet block was very clean and well maintained. I loved this site and hope to return again asap.

The staff at Chestnut Meadow could not have been more helpful from the minute we arrived or more correctly got lost and Steve came and found us! Not the site's fault direction wise - ours entirely!
The site is new admittedly but the facilities were immaculate from private bathroom pods in the toilet blocks to enclosed toilet disposal points. On our third day we got fed up with cooking breakfast so we went to the restaurant and I got take away bacon and egg rolls - how cool is that!
The site has many super pitches, your own water supply and waste so no need for the aqua roll I just paid a fortune for! We really could find no fault at all, the site is large and spacious and was very quiet although it was the first weekend of the world cup and England were playing.
Fabulous country walks across fields and then large woods to stroll with the dog and only a few miles from Hastings. We will be back! 10/10

This site is virtually brand new, having only been open a matter of weeks following 10-months of prep and build. All of the facilities are new and gleaming - the toilet-and-shower block is particularly impressive, with its recycled plastic doors and lots of space and light.
There's a games room, play area and licensed cafe on-site, offering a surprisingly wide range of food and drink and staffed by a lovely couple - Kay and Ricky - who joined us for a drink in the sunshine and made us laugh with their stories (Kay thinks there's only one airport in Turkey, for starters.)
Site owners Andy and Ulenah couldn't be more warm and welcoming and seem to really have worked hard to make the site as appealing as possible. We are really looking forward to a return visit asap.

Staff were lovely and the place looks like very new. It was very empty and I believe was due to the England Match, but toilet blocks wasn't that clean for an empty spot so have my concerns if the place were packed.
Just before we left my wife went for a shower at 11:00 on Sunday and they closed the area for cleaning at Sunday 11:00. People were leaving the area and rarely anyone will be arriving so why close the toilet block? Overall I liked the place.
If you are driving with a GPS their post code won't match with the final destination.

In late 2009 we decided to incorporate our son's christening with a weekend camping over the late May Bank Holiday. We contacted several local campsites and were hugely disappointed with the lack of assistance and flexibility on offer, especially as we wanted to book a large number of pitches. Then we heard about Chestnut Meadow and our prayers were answered. Andy and Ulenah were happy to help and accommodate our ever changing needs.
The weekend finally arrived and we were not disappointed. The site has everything we look for, great facilities for the kids whatever the weather, excellent toilet and shower facilities that were always clean even though the site was full, plenty of free hot water and huge pitches.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, from Ricky and his excellent cake making skills to Steve who was always on hand to help and without whom I would probably be floating over the channel holding on to a large gazebo!
All of our guests, some new to camping and some seasoned campers, commented on how great the site was and all praised the facilities. The weekend was a huge success thanks in no small part to Andy, Ulenah and the team. We can't wait to go back!

A fantastic place to camp with new clean facilities, this site is family run and nothing is too much trouble. It has a lovely play area and a games room with free pool and table tennis so even if the weather is bad there is a good place for the children to meet.
It has a shop and cafe and catered for the veggies in the family and also a nut allergy sufferer was not a problem for this site, they were happy to oblige.
We didn't have to rush off on our departure day so took our time to pack up. Will be recommending to friends and will be going back again very soon.
