Wow. After having a very soggy week in the New Forest in June, we were so glad mum found such a great site local to her for us to stay at. Nothing bad to say about it. Only good things that many of you have already said. It brought back many 'proper' camp site memories back from my childhood. A field, that's it. The children all played together in the middle and it was a great 5 days. The manager is a star too, always happy to help and clean facilities. Everything worked even though dated, so does it matter? Going again August bank holiday this year and maybe in June too. The best site we have stayed at and the friendliest :)

A large camping field ideal for single pitches or groups and rallies. We camped with several other families to celebrate a friends birthday. This was in addition to another rally being on site and still loads of room for units and kids to play. Toilet block is quite basic but plenty of loos and showers with amply hot water. Drying rooms came in handy with the British summer weather we experienced.

The campfire circle is a good facility of this site although you may need to supply your own wood.

On the site is a large catering kitchen and dinning room along with recreation hall which again came in handy in the weather.

A brilliant site and one that I will be using again this year.

We visited the site on August bank holiday with our children.  The campsite manager was extremely helpful and regularly checked everything was Ok. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and hot water was plentiful.  The children had plenty of room to play directly by our tent.  We had a very enjoyable time and would definitely recommend it.

The campsite has a large retail park about 2 miles from it including Tesco.      Normans bay & Cooden beach are lovely to visit but would give Herstmonsaux Castle a miss far too expensive!

Visited this site with 2 other families over the bank holiday weekend. It is a great site with lots of space without restrictions. You are only able to pitch around the outside of the field which leaves a huge space for games.
Peaceful, site manger very friendly and helpful. Will be going again.

Love it here! Cheap yes! But you could pay double and come back!

They just cant do enough for you! Site is large but never packed! You have plenty of room to play games, even football matches!

Hot free showers. My kids love these showers and never seem to be out of them. Wash more here than they do at home! Great location for exploring, Couldnt ask for more from a site.

They even have large BBQ you can borrow. EXCELLENT. Will be back. Just a shame the 2 times we went this year it PISSED down! Oh well that's the english weather. Will be back!

Had a lovely weekend at this well equipped and peaceful site, despite some dismal weather.

Plenty of loos, basins and showers & plenty of hot water too, though the facilities themselves are a little bit dated.  There are several electric hookup points lining the majority of 2 sides of the large field.

Well suited to rallies or organised large group camps, and featured excellent 'industrial' cooking facilities and servery (though no dishwasher) and a good sized, carpeted dining hall.  Also featured a sports hall with basket ball hoops and table tennis tables - bring your own bats, balls and nets, etc.  No kids play area, but plenty of space in the centre of the field for all manner of games and sports.

The field itself features one large and well defined campfire circle - probably 10 feet in diameter - which is great if you are in a large, organised group as we were.  We brought our own logs, so worth checking with the manager if any are available to purchase at the site.

Caravan access was slightly tricky but do-able: the access road is quite narrow where it meets the road, and the turn through a gate into the camping field is also rather narrow.  Given that this is a pinch point it could do with being surfaced rather than grassed to avoid it turning into a mud bath during our fine summer months.

The field does not suffer from marked pitches (depending upon your point of view) so there is plenty of space to pitch up and spread out.

To summarise: well worth visiting, especially if you are planning a large group outing or rally.

Visited for Airbourne (Eastbourne's air show). A lovely clean, friendly and peaceful site. The site managers were very accommodating, constantly asking if everything was O.K. And they even lent us a table and chairs. We couldn't believe how cheap it was and with plenty of free hot water. We are already planning a to visit again next year.
