Being new to camping, this was just our fourth camping experience locally and how refreshing it was! The site is clean, the shower blocks fresh and welcoming with hot water and no tokens! The units / doors etc are made of recycled materials and are very attractive with marbled pink effect for the girls and blue for the boys, the family shower room is also well presented and the key obtainable from reception.
Security on site is good with a swipe card for the gate being obtained upon arrival. Staff are extremely friendly, approachable and welcoming
The complimentary tea and coffee is a lovely idea as is the on site cafe which is well presented, reasonably priced and the home made cakes to die for! My husband and I opted for the queen breakfasts which can even be delivered to your pitch! These were very well cooked and it was enjoyable to sit and eat under the large sun canopies.
The little touches such as the tv , well equipped games room ( perfect for a rainy day ), wooden children's play area, all ensured we had a fantastic break and the food was so well cooked and reasonably priced that we decided to eat at the on site cafe which by all accounts is more of a restaurant and very well presented with little touches such as the red coasters and attractive seating areas
The pitches are flat, well spaced and clearly identified by the buckets with the pitch numbers on! ( no rolling into each other at night! )
We will definitely be returning to this idyllic site

Just got back from visiting this site. Fabulous time had by ourselves and the other 3 families with us. Very friendly and helpful staff who genuinely cared and wanted to make our stay here memorable.
On the first night the hood came unstuck to the stowage locker on the caravan. I enquired with the shop as to whether they had any araldite type glue for sale so I could repair it. The owner took our pitch number and within an hour their very nice handyman was on scene. He took the trunk lid back to his workshop, ground the fibreglass flat and re-attached the anchorage points. Next day he purchased a fibreglass repair kit from Halfords and reinforced it prior to screwing it all back together. Despite my offering him a drink he wouldn't take a penny for the considerable effort he went to.
The facilities were great. Good showers with plenty of hot water ands no stingy tokens. No queues for facilities. Cafe had great fare and was very reasonably priced.
Lovely people, great site and I'm sure this will become a favourite for many, making booking essential. We will certainly return.

This is a wonderful family campsite. We were checked in by Andy and Ulenah who are very welcoming hosts and as first time campers really put us at our ease. In fact 2 members of the team helped us erect the tent in no time !
Our 2 kids aged 6 and 4 loved the outdoor playground which was both challenging and imaginatively designed. The indoor play room proved invaluable when it rained and we kept ourselves amused with pool, table football, table tennis which were all free !
Lovely hot power showers as good as home ( with no queues !) and fabulously clean toilets and washbasins. The family shower room was great and enabled us to get both kids washed and dressed with ease, worth making use of.
Had the best Mocha and carrot cake ever in cafe, great value for money. So refreshing to stay somewhere that doesn't try to rip people off and has spent time both time and money providing excellent facilities. Would not hesitate to visit again and recommend to others.

This was without a doubt the best site that I have been too,I would be surprised if anyone could find fault here.
We was met by the smiling faces of Andy & Ulenah. Lovely people, actually seem to be enjoying what they are doing.
Booking in was no fuss and you get complementary vouchers for a cup of tea or coffee on arrival. Here you can place an order for your daily newspaper. The shop in the reception has all that you are likely to need from meat to camping equipment etc.
Andy then took me to our pitch rather than the usual 'just up there go right'. There was no fuss about pitches, I was told anywhere here or there, plenty of room and good ground to get pegs in.
The site itself is very clean. There is a good games room for kids (and adults!) and a nice play area for them to enjoy themselves. These are right next to the cafe where you can enjoy a good meal and drink without being ripped off.
The heated toilet block is very clean, plenty of cubicles, wash basins, 'free' hairdryer and power showers with lashings of hot water. It was fairly busy but I never had to queue up and as it had been raining the floors did get a little dirty at times but it was cleaned up promptly. Plenty of washing up sinks outside the showers, plenty of hot water and under cover.
There always seem to be staff (Andy actually) walking around keeping a check on things but letting you get on with it. There was music, not too loud, especially when the 'Pirates' did there dancing! and everything settled down at a reasonable time.
Plenty more I could write but go check it out, you wont be disappointed!
I feel this will soon be a site that it will be essential to book.I for one will be returning without a doubt.

Had one night here, wow, what a great site.
The staff were friendly and helpful, even offering tea or coffee on arrival. Pitches are big and the toilet / shower blocks spotless and well thought out (liking the funky recycled plastic bottle doors and worktops). Lots of washing up sinks all under cover.
Thought being given a green bucket to put your recycling in a great idea. Didn't try the cafe but heard good comments, the games room is good for kids on the wet days.
Would recommend this site to anyone.

Broadhembury Holiday Park - Ashford
Just 15 minutes from Ashford and 25 minutes from fabulous beaches, you'll be ideally placed for exploring the Garden of England. The park is divided into a family area, that is close to the play parks, the sports field and the games room, and a peaceful adult-only area in The Meadows, that is ideal for couples. A range of grass and hardstanding pitches, fully serviced or non electric, catering for all sized of tents and caravans.
On both areas you will enjoy five-star, centrally-heated showers, and private cubicles with toilet, hand basin, dryers etc. Laundry and campers kitchens, a large childrens playground, sports field, games room and television lounge. The park has CCTV and WiFi is available for a small fee. A dog walking area is provided on site. Find out more here

Having camped at this site numerous times under it's previous owners you really wouldn't think it's the same place.
It is now a lovely truly family campsite.
On arrival you are welcomed on site and not many campsites bring a complementary hot drink over for you while you set up.
The pitches are massive and still loads of unpitched area in the middle so kids (and adults) have somewhere to let off a little steam.
The toilet block has been completely redone is now on a par with the best in the business. They are cleaned regularly by the ever friendly team on the site and are well stocked with toilet roll and hand towels and there are free hair dryers and hot powerful showers. Outside the toilet block is a covered washing up area.
A small play area has been constructed well and safely and with the games room with free air hockey, table football, pool and board games kept the kids occupied for hours. This is next to the the Cafe which we only used once for tea and cakes but was excellent value with free refills and great homemade cakes.
The only slight down side is the access road being narrow but this has been improved by remaking the road with tarmac.
Would recommend this site any time and will certainly be back.

WOW! This campsite has had a complete makeover. As a youth leader in St John Ambulance I camped here a lot and always thought the site had potential.
The new owners 'family' that have taken it on has proved that.
A welcome that we have never had from a campsite before, so friendly and a complimentary drink on arrival, booked in a paid deposit for security barrier card. Small shop with all essentials including basic camping items, at reasonable prices (unlike most campsites).
Three children enjoyed the outdoor play area / park, and the indoor games room with air hockey table football, but also giant connect four and board games on tables.
Pitches are huge! (what else can I say)
Toilet /shower blocks are fantastic, and cleaned regularly. Even free hair dryers! Great family wet room to keep the kids looking presentable.
The cafe is very reasonably priced and the homemade cakes are yummy! Didn't sample the main courses or breakfasts as we had taken all our food with us.
Not that we had any problems, but there was always someone around to contact, actually on the site.
As a lover of Hastings generally, we will add this to our favourites.

We stayed on the opening weekend of the new refurbished site. Both our friends and ourselves would come again. This site is a true family run concern and from the beginning we were made to feel more like friends than paying guests.
The site has all modern facilities as you'd expect with some of the pitches viewing the sea from a distance. We had views onto meadows. The food in the cafe was so good and reasonably priced that we went for breakfast and dinner.
Everyone made us feel really welcome and we will be putting this campsite on our 'must return' list.

This is a lovely new site that has been refurbished to a high standard.
All the pitches are clearly marked and are huge. The shower block / toilets are brand new and again lovely to use. The hot water in the showers was just right and I was very impressed with the free hair dryers. They also have a lovely family room which makes life easier when trying to deal with slippy toddlers!
The cafe was very reasonably priced and had a satisfactory enough selection of food. The breakfasts were excellent.
There is a small shop which stocked local produce as well as well known brands for those emergencies.
The children's park is great and there is a huge undercover play room which is a godsend on a very rainy day.
The owners were lovely people too and made us feel ever so welcome. This is a great site and we will certainly be going back there again - provided they aren't fully booked!
PS We learnt the hard way - avoid Bexhill-on-Sea on a Sunday as everything is closed! Hastings is lovely though.

Just returned from a great weekend at this 'new' site. Very friendly family run establishment - the owners are keen campers. Nothing was too much trouble.
On site cafe serves great homemade food at very reasonable prices (main course £5 or less). The cakes were to die for. It was so good we didn't bother to cook for ourselves.
The whole place has been refurbished to a very high standard. Great shower block with wonderful showers and vanity units. Everything is just perfect and a credit to the owners who have spent the past year getting it all ready.
Kids have great facilities with large outdoor play area and indoor games room with table football, air hockey etc. Good shop with reasonable prices on a wide range of goods so no need to take the Tesco shop with you. Should think this place will be booked solid once word starts to spread.

NOTE: Site is being completely refurbished and will re-open under new management in March 2010 - this review relates to the old St Johns Ambulance campsite, the sites previous name. New facilities being installed including new toilet blocks, wifi access, cafe and children's play facilities.
Large Field with plenty of room. No set pitches and units split to give as much privacy as possible. Great prices. We paid £15 a night for 2 adults, 4 children.
Close to Bexhill with plenty of shops and not much further to Hastings or Battle.
Sadly site has been sold and now closed. Hopefully will remain a campsite but bet the prices go up quite a bit.

A very cheap but clean and pleasant campsite. Only £9 for two adults including free hot showers. The toilets and showers are simple but clean. The site itself is basically one big field and when we were there it was absolutely empty! There isn't a tremendous amount within walking distance to see really - Bexhill itself is a car drive away. There is a nice promenade and the De La Warr Pavilion is worth a look at (1930s Art deco building with modern art installations and a great tea room with views). Other than that Bexhill doesn't have much to offer - a sleepy retirement town. If you want a quiet overnighter this campsite is for you - but any longer and you might find it a little too simple and quiet!

Superb site, pity the weather wasn't ! The site manager was very helpful even offering hire of equipment when one of the family tents failed in the monsoon! Facilities basic but excellent, clean toilets and showers with lashings of hot water. Lots of room on site, great area for games, frisbee, kites etc. Some pitches have electric hook ups, caters for all disciplines, tents, motorhomes and caravans.
The site is on the outskirts of Bexhill and very quiet. Footpath next to entrance leads to High Woods which is a wonderful place to take children exploring (grown ups as well). Following Peartree Lane to little Common leads to a super fish and chip shop and local convenience stores. Turn right out of the site and follow signs after Sidley village for Ravenside if you want serious shopping (Tesco - Boots - Halfords etc)also swimming and bowling. Less than an hour to Bedgebury Pineatum or Bewl Water, both have extensive facilities for walkers or cyclists. And of course there is the beaches both at Bexhill and Cooden, not exactly Blackpool but plenty of sand at low tide.
Overall an excellent inexpensive basic site in a very good location.
