Just got back from a couple of nights at Glen Nevis, what a lovely campsite. When we arrived at reception we were checked in very swiftly and given a map to help us find our pitch. Pitches were large enough for caravan plus awning, plenty of space. Grass was well tended, being mown whilst we were there. Toilet block and showers were spotless, free showers always a bonus. The on site shop was well stocked though Fort William was a very short drive to get anything you needed. The bar/restaurant was very enjoyable with prices being very reasonable, a local band playing some ceilidh music till late, a very nice evening.

This is one of our favourite sites due to location, situated at the foot of Ben Nevis with views up the tourist path to the summit, there are many walks from easy to difficult from the site, Fort William is a short drive, but could be walked too, so far not brave enough to venture to the top of the mountain, but maybe one day, we love relaxing after a walk and watching people coming and going up the mountain, watching the twinkling lights from walkers descending the mountain after dark is fascinating,

The location is great for sight seeing in the surrounding area,

If I had to make any criticism it would be the power, the site wasn't too busy when we visited in May, and we were unlucky to have cold wet weather, meaning most people needed to have their heating on causing the power to continually trip, mostly while trying to cook, , had the site been full It would've been even worse.

We chose this site as a stop-over on our way to Skye but we'd love to have stayed longer. Beautiful location with easy access to beginning of path up Ben Nevis. Plenty dog walks just off site. A short walk on paths away from main road took us to a restaurant. We were cooking for ourselves so didn't try it but the menu looked appealing!

Great motorhome service area with water and waste access on both sides. (We have a German van with water and waste dump on opposite side to British vans so this suited us - didn't have to think which way round we were!)

Good toilet and shower blocks, clean and warm - and good water pressure in showers.

Stayed here for 1 night in April and were really pleased that we came across this place.

Huge site with, perhaps not surprisingly in April, not all that may people on it! Several toilet and shower blocks so although it was quiet when we were there I guess there wouldn't be an issue with queue's.

Very clean and well maintained throughout and stunning views from our pitch.

Only down side for us was distance to town, no pub/shops in walking distance although the on site shop was well stocked.

 What a wonderful, beautiful campsite.

We arrived at lunch time. The girl at reception was very friendly. The site was so clean & very well laid out with a lot space in-between pitches. We had a level, hard standing pitch with hookup & spectacular views.

The site was so peaceful & even though there were quite a few other tourers & caravans staying, we were all well spaced.

In the evening we went to the Bar. The staff were welcoming despite us arriving 15 minutes before closing, we were not made to feel in any hurry. Drinks were well priced too. It would have been nice (maybe) to have a live band playing some traditional Scottish songs.

The site was silent & pitch dark during the night with no noise or light pollution.

The toilet blocks were very clean with never ending very hot water in the showers.

Would go back tomorrow. It's the best site we've been too.

Just back from a few days on this site, I Havant been here for a few years. I stayed from the Monday until the late Wednesday. I was here with my best mate his 8 year old boy and my two kids aged 5 and 8. The site itself is indeed in one of the best parts of Scotland for views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding area.

We had a 10 man tent on the electric hookup pitch, for the lots of us for the 2 nights/3 days cost only £62 with the electric hook up. This I thought was very reasonable. The site is immaculate, toilets, wash up area, showers etc. The children's play area is very handy and does the job.

There is plenty of room for the kids to go and explore and just be kids, without the worry as parents always do. We shall be back more often. Its well worth a walk up the Glen Nevis gorge to the steel wate falls, My 5 year old daughter had no problems with the walk up and down. If I had any real negative point to make people aware of is, the price of the toys in the wee gift shop are well above small pocket money allowance. Apart from that, fully recommend

Our 3rd Easter break spent here for 7 nights. Still great value at only £17. 50 per night for our large pitch. Fabulous views all around you. Facilities always clean and plentiful. Large site but feels small due to split areas. Shop well stocked even this early in season and staff all very friendly and chatty. Restaurant / bar just off site serves excellent food or nice for quiet drink. Also worth visit is the Ben Nevis Inn at foot of tourist path at centre. Again good food while watching everyone come to end of descending Ben Nevis. Fort William only 2 miles away buses pass or is easy walk in pavement all way. If it wasn't 130 miles from home we would visit here a lot more often during year - hope to be back in summer months again

A lovely very large site at the base of Ben Nevis. It is well maintained and staff are friendly and helpful. Nice large level pitches. The site was well lit at night and had a nice well stocked shop.

There was a restaurant just off of the site and a lovely children's play ground with a variety of apparatus.

The Shower/toilet blocks were clean and tidy with plenty of hooks and a seat. You set the water to your own temperature.

There was also a Motorhome drive through where you could drop gray water and fill up with clean water for left or right handed vehicles with automatic lights in case it was dark.

We did see buses pass the site gates but not sure of times or where to.

The Ben Nevis visitor centre is around 10 mins walk up the road again with very friendly helpful staff. Fort William is about 2 miles away.

The Ben Nevis climb is easy to get to via the centre, nearly made the top but day light hours were to short. The path was not for the faint hearted good in some places but not so good in others. Good strong pair walking boots recommended.

We only stayed two night as we where booked into another site, otherwise would have stayed longer.

Would we go back, certainly.

This Park knocked spots off all the others that we visited (7 in 3 weeks). It was beautifully laid out, with all facilities (showers/toilets/laundry etc) conveniently placed and immaculate. There was a large Reception and a well-stocked shop and the staff were professional and friendly. We could choose any pitch within one of two enclosed areas and, as we wanted to come and go in our motorhome, we were given a cone to place on the pitch whenever we were away from the site.

To add icing to the cake, the park was situated right at the foot of Ben Nevis.

Fort William is about two miles from the Park and the walk into town is both pleasant and interesting as there is a (disused) Kirling ground, a standing stone and Glen Nevis Visitor Centre along the way. The town itself has a large Morrisons (handy for parking) and a long parade of shops, banks and eating places.

We were passing through so had only booked two nights but were able to squeeze in another short stay on our return journey.

This is a big, very well equipped site with a good shop, bar, restaurant etc. The pitches are reasonably level and there are several large wash blocks which are all very clean with plenty of hot water. I even found that most of the electric shaver sockets worked too.

Fort William is only a couple of miles away and the Ben Nevis visitor centre is just down the road. Most visitors only stayed a couple of nights and their reason for stopping here was the same as us, to climb The Big One. We were charged £14 a night for 2 adults with a small tent.

Ben Nevis is easily accessible from the site. The path to the summit is very well maintained and busy. The route is bland and unexciting and without the exhilarating views it would be a boring slog to the top. If you get into the clouds you’ll be completing the climb purely to tick the box. In my opinion there are other far more interesting and less busy mountains around to climb. I recommend a detour to look at the North face and then returning from the mountain hut down by the stream into Fort William. The Glen is also worth exploring to view the waterfall and try out the three cable river crossing bridge if you’re brave enough.

This is a great base camp site for an accent of Ben Nevis and there are many other interesting mountains to climb nearby too. From what we saw, Fort William isn’t up to much although the Morrisons supermarket was very useful.

 Customer Service

Pre booked over the phone - very quick and easy to do paying a £10 deposit (which does come off your final bill). Booked caravan with serviced pitch 4 adults 2 cars. Parents dropped out (ill health). Amended over the phone - no problems. Caravan got dreaded damp - purchased trailer tent. Again contacted site - no problem.

On arrival filled in booking form. Staff very polite and helpful. We still had the same reserved pitch originally booked. Staff do run both booking in and shop on evenings and they do it very well considering how busy they are.

The site

Amazing views from every angle

At night you could see the torches of people descending Ben Nevis (looked like lots of tiny stars)

Very well stocked shop (reasonably priced)

Takeaway van. Usual menus chips, fish, haggis, kebab, pizza, Breakfast menu, decent sized portions reasonable price fairly busy with menu and open/close times in full view

Shower/Toilet blocks

Never had to queue plenty of them both. Very hot water 24/7. Very clean. Plenty of hairdryers/mirrors. Piped music and heated throughout

Laundry

Spinner 20p. Tumble dryer 1 min 20p 20 min £1 ( we spun and dried 2 large heavy coats for £1. 20). Washer £1. These were in constant use but plenty of and never had to wait

Water points in close range to all pitch

Electric hook up 3Kw

Separate motorhome facilities

Dustbins also plenty of and within close range to all pitches

Pitches very generous size hard standing with grass for tents

Small park for children

Very quiet site considering how busy it was (lots of empty pitches but plenty of people coming and going constantly)

All in all very nicely laid out and well maintained

The Glen Nevis estate is huge we walked and walked and still didn't manage to cover it all.

There is a bar and restaurant down the road easily accessed from the various entry exit points around the site

Both again very nicely set out and reasonably priced

Just down from the bar is the Youth hostel which was very busy (though not noisy at all)

There is also a small bridge over the river Nevis here to gain access to Ben Nevis (which we climbed)

There is further access and an easy riverside walk at the Ben Nevis visitor center which is in the opposite direction (both these paths meet at The junction on Ben Nevis. )

Further on from the youth hostel is the start of the lower falls and the route to Steall waterfall both worthy of a visit.

A very well placed site for the Highlands

We used it as a base and visited as much as we could.

Would we return. Definitely

Spent one night only here on our 2week trip and wished we had more time to spend here. Very well laid out site, good spaces between neighbours, all level and all hard standing. Site very popular with walkers so fairly busy even at this time of year and even in the awful weather!

Food Van on site morning and evening and they do good sausage butties/rolls in the morning so you don't even have to make breakie!

Toilets a little bit tired but loads of showers, very clean and loads of hot water. Very well stocked shop on site. Site is as the foot of Ben Nevis so fabulous location. Dog walks are good and there is restaurant a short walk along the main road but we didn't use it so can't comment on the food but expect its always a handy alternative to cooking. I would recommend this site and would like to return one day!

Fantastic, well organised site, in a beautiful area. Stayed only one night here as we where on our way to Oban. Very quiet despite the size and well run.

Would highly recommend this site to anyone travelling in this area. Shower block was immaculate.

Scenery amazing, great dog walking area. Noise level was zero. Will definitely be rturning here, when we are in this area.

Shop is well organised, with all essentials available here, although a bag of sugar was £1. 49!

Everything you may need for your caravan/motorhome was stocked here. Hill climbers where catered for. A hot food van was available at the site.

Spent a week here end of July/beginning of August.

Arrived late in the day after a long day. Only one person checking people in despite quite a few people waiting. People in front were in full leathers yet the girl checked them in as a motorhome. Kind of set the tone. Girl said that I would need to fill a registration card in. I politely asked why as I had already provided the information at the time of the booking. The only info she didn't have on the computer was the length of our vehicle which I gave her verbally. Clearly the staff have had a common sense bypass. Staff local knowledge was worse than useless.

Location of site is excellent and there is plenty to do to fill a week. Site is well maintained and laid out. Our pitch in the corner of the field became a bit of a thorough fare as people kept climbing over the fence as a short-cut to the pub/restaurant. Personally I wouldn't dream of walking across someone's pitch but some people can be quite ignorant. Maybe a sign would help.

Didn't use the restaurant but the pub was welcome after conquering Ben Nevis. Campsite quiet at night/early morning. By Scottish standards this campsite is quite expensive for what you get.

This is a very busy site, which is obvious as soon as you get out of your car. The facilities are all good considering how busy the place was, and the staff fine except they are maybe overworked, One lovely young lady on the night I arrived seemed to be dealing with everything even the shop.

But and this is a big but, I was expecting to pay 8 pounds per night but there is per person added costs and admin so I ended uo paying 14 pounds 20 for a small tent and car, the dearest of all my stays in Scotland. I live in NZ and was home, I stayed here many times times when young and this was always handy for the mountain.

I have been on many camps this time over 3 months but I wont go back to Glen Nevis again.

Way too expensive and I believe overcrowded for the facilities available.
