Went to this site for the tatoo. Great site. Showers very clean and a nice touch with radio on in the showers and toilets. Only down side was no shop, the reception sell a few thing but had to go in car to morrisons for a newspaper in morn. The mini bus which come on site is very good and drop you off not far from shops in Edinburgh. Booked the mini bus to go to the tatoo at night this too was very good and drop us off at the bottom of castle. It's a long hill to climb but not too steep for people with mobility problem and it give you plenty of time to get back after and does a head count to make sure every one is back on before you return back to camp site. We will have no problem using this camp site again in the future

Lovely campsite laid out in typical Caravan Club layout - bit like a car park. Still well-cared for though with clean facilities. This is a site that is good as a base not for it's views. The site also takes tents, which is unusual for a CC site. Very busy site.

Shame the old bus service no longer available, but only a 10 minute walk up to the top road where the bus service is good, going right into the city so no need to change buses. Also a mini bus service direct from site but didn't use this.

Morrisons supermarket is a short drive away in one direction and a small Tescos in the other direction. The wardens were all OK and helpful.

After reading the reviews we thought this would be a good site. I am sorry to say we did not find the lady wardens helpful or friendly at all. On arrival we were asked if we had been here before when we informed them no was told to pick a pitch with a white stick and come back to let them know, we asked if there was a motorhome fill up and was told to check the signs. We also asked about the bus stop sign and did you get the local bus from there, to be told that if we wanted to know about the bus service we had to check the information office for details. The office was not busy only myself in ! When we left I went to hand in the gate pass, she walk out from the office I said thank you we and leaving today, she picked up the card, no thank you hope you had nice stay nothing. So rude. We did not realise that it was the tatoo and when we saw the advert asked how we could or would it be possible to get tickets, we were informed that we need to get ourselves organised and get tickets sorted ! We had had a lovely 2 weeks touring Scotland to end our holiday on that site really put a back feeling on visiting Scotland. Would like to say one warden having a off day but it was 2 different lady wardens !

Visited for week long holiday and what a lovely site. All amenities of high standard incl toilet blocks, reception and information points. The area around the site is beautiful and perfect for beach walks especially dog-friendly. The wardens are all friendly and helpful. There's a nice mix of nationalities on the site here to visit Edinburgh. Plenty of food shops incl Lidl and Morrisons a very short drive away. The nearest pub is the Toby Carvery 15-20 min walk, not dog-friendly inside but there's a large beer garden. The Cramond Inn is a 30min walk along the promenade but wouldn't recommend a visit (Unpleasant staff!). The minibus service into Edinburgh is ideal for door to door service! Would definitely visit again.

Large 146 pitch site set in hilltop wooded location by Firth of Forth 3 ½ miles from Edinburgh centre. Spacious pitches, two toilet blocks and helpful and friendly wardens.

The promenade by the Firth is accessed via a 100 step staircase outside the site entrance, providing a 2 mile walk to Cramond, with its lovely harbour, dog friendly Cramond Inn, and Cramond Island (1 mile walk only accessible at low tide). Surprisingly pleasant promenade with stunning views of Firth and the Islands, the Firth Bridge and surrounding lowland scenery, but no shelters have been provided. Pity considering the downpours of rain, it is Scotland!

A minibus service is provided by Cramond Taxis running directly from the site into Edinburgh centre at £ 5. 00/person return. The bus runs every half hour from the site in the mornings (9. 30 until 1. 00), then a pre-booked return collection from Edinburgh (4. 30 – 9. 00pm).

Morrison’s supermarket is just over 1 mile from site.

No traffic noise, but site is under the flight path of Edinburgh airport and associated landing noise. Despite this good, relatively quiet location for visiting Edinburgh.

This is a well looked after site with plenty of space for your unit, friendly staff on hand to help.

All level pitches. You can walk about 15-20 mins to bus stops that will take you into the city if you don't fancy having the hassle of parking.

You can also walk the same distance the other way to the sea (firth of the forth) which has lovely walks along the prom. There is no shop as such on site but reception has a few necessities very clean toilets and showers with music piped through, which i think is a nice touch.

Small playground for small children, we parked by the road that runs by, but there not much traffic noise from it.

We are Caravan Club Members. We visited this site for a weekend on March 1st with our 3 children as our youngest daughter had a Basketball event in Edinburgh. Although we arrived at 7pm due to Road works delays, we were made welcome by the Warden and settled the bill in the morning. We found the site quite busy but found a good pitch.

The site is very level with large hardstandings. The layout is excellent with shrubs and trees and some hedges dividing pitches, the area around the reception was particularly well landscaped. There are grey squirrels and Magpies in abundance.

There are 2 toilet blocks and the one we used was very clean and large enough for the site. Our children used the small playpark at the site.

We could see the Forth Estuary from our pitch and it is only a short walk down to the waterfront. We visited Ocean Terminal at Leith with free parking and the Royal Botanical Gardens with on Street parking free at weekends both are only a short Drive away. There is a Large Morrisons and a Tesco both about 5 minutes drive.

On Saturday and Sunday there was slight noise from football matches being played adjacent to the site but this did not cause us any disturbance. A well recommended site and we will very likely return.

Well looked after site. Friendly and helpful wardens. Spotless showers and toilets 24 hours, with plenty of free hot water, same in dish washing area. We found it very quiet no bother the few planes we vaguely heard. Short walk to bus stop about ten minutes, great bus service (Lothian) drivers friendly and very helpful. Great place to be based for visiting Edinburgh. Looking forward to going back for another stay soon.

We had 4 nights at this site the week before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the break.

Ideal location with Cramond beach a 5 minute walk and Princes St. A 10 minute drive away.

Half the site was closed for the winter but the site was quiet so had plenty of pitches to choose from. Toilet block was nice and warm and spotless. Nice friendly greeting at reception and all the staff were happy to have a chat.

The weather was wet and wild on one of the days but the trees surrounding the site gave some shelter.

There is some noise from the planes but we didn't find it obtrusive.

We will definitely use this site for some short breaks in the future.

A very well maintained site. The shower blocks and toilets are clean and tidy and the showers you can adjust the water for your own temperature.

There is a small play ground for the children.

The beach is about five mins walk from the site and there is a lovely walk along side the river Almond but it is about 20 mins walk along the sea front to get there.

There is a mini bus that comes to the site between 9. 30 am and 11. 30 am to pick people up and take them into Edinburgh. The times back are between 4. 30 pm and 6. 30 pm. The nearest public transport is about 10-15 mins up the road to the right of the campsite.

The nearest shop is Morrisons about 15-20 mins up the road.

We did like the site but felt that it was a shame that we had to travel quite a distance from the site for things like places to eat, shops and public transport.

We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly.
