Very friendly and helpful reception from site owners. Good communication prior to arrival and helpful guidance to the motor home area.
Excellent location for walking from the two access points on the site. Vast expanses of clean beach, dunes and wooded areas( National trust) on the site doorstep.
Lack of wi-fi and internet, and sometimes mobile phone signal adds to the unspoiled peace and quiet, which is not always easy to find at other sites.
Nothing on site for children, but plenty of adventure space just off site.
Suits those looking to get away from busy noisy places. Utilities are dated and limited but very clean and useable.
We loved it and will be back.

Great place to stay, Margaret and the staff were really pleasant and lovely people.
The site was a great spot for the beaches and dog walks.
The site itself and facilities were spotless, lovely hot water showers.
I will definitely be going back and would recommend anyone who wants a peaceful spot in or around Liverpool and Formby to try the site out.

A peaceful, nicely kept site in amongst the pine trees and sand dunes. It’s predominantly a static site with the touring section at the far end. There is no wifi, TV or phone signal though. The beach is easily accessible through the dunes and there is a good walk from the site to the red squirrel sanctuary.
We used our own facilities so can't comment on them. However, you have to pay £2 for a key to access them and also £20 for another key/fob to get in and out of site. Not that this mattered to us as we used our own facilities and spent the weekend walking rather than using the car. But we were only made aware of this at the time of checking in. Maybe this should’ve been highlighted at the time of booking as it’s cash only, and if you don’t carry cash as most people don’t these days, you could be left struggling.
Pitches are a generous size and fairly flat. But also at the time of checking in, we weren’t advised where the chemical disposal, grey waste or fresh water was located. We had to go out of our way to ask and find them. Grey waste is emptied into strange chimney type pots located at the back of pitches. Most of them were blocked with leaves and pine cones. The height of them also made it difficult to lift up the waste master to be emptied. The chemical disposal point was behind a gate situated at the end of the facilities block. There is also no dumping area for motorhomes.
In addition, a map of the site given upon arrival would be a good idea. Instead, we were given vague instructions on how to find our pitch through the estate. Any road markings have faded making it difficult to see the no entry and exit signs. Not once during our stay did we see the owners come out and check that everyone was ok etc. They were friendly enough, but little things as mentioned on checking in could be improved.
However, despite the initial negative impression, we would return now we are familiar with the site.

We chose Formby point for it's location and access to the beach.
It's a great site to get away from it all and enjoy peace and quiet.
We will definitely be back.

A real "get away from it all" site. No internet, no wifi, no 4g. Just sand dunes, empty sandy beaches and sun. Yes. Sun!
Our two dogs were in 7th heaven.
Very quiet and level site with clean toilets and showers.
Local shops are a 10 min walk away if you run out of anything.

The site is in a great location for the beach and nearby Formby.
I imagine it will be great for dog lovers.
Pitches nice and flat.
The toilet block is a little dated but functional.
Train station 25 mins walk away and on the line from Southport to Liverpool.

We had a wonderful time at Formby point in pur micro camper
We arrived late and in the dark after coming post work on a Friday, and were warmly welcomed by staff. Other campers in the area were also friendly and welcoming.
We had a choice of pitches with easy access to water and toilet facilities
Said facilities were clean and quiet, with hot showers freely available. There was no pot washing facility that we could
We went into Liverpool for a day trip which was very easily accessible. Coop and train station were within a comfortable walking distance.
The campsite was close to the dunes, but secluded from other tourists. We felt the dunes and surrounding forest offered some good protection from the weather.
The staff were welcoming and accommodating - you need cash to pay for your stay. All in all we had a lovely time

The pitches are a good size with electric hookup.
The facilities are basic but just what you need.
The site is well looked after and the location is the best next to formby beach and a national trust site with lots of walks.
Love coming here and will always go back.

We first stayed here four or five years ago. I don’t think anything much has changed since then.
The toilets are rather gloomy and smelly and need attention.
The pitches are still mostly level hard-standing.
Access is through a large sprawling static park.
The attraction of the place for us is its proximity to the extensive beach, dunes and woodland managed by the National Trust
