Second visit to Damson Field, this site is best suited for lovers of peace, tranquility and nature, if you like sites with shops, club, and banging music. Then it’s probably not for you, . Hosts Lynda&Terry are friendly, warm and welcoming and know a lot about the area. Looking forward to making my next visit!

This peaceful site is spacious with wonderful views of the valley below. It's perfect for walks which can be accessed directly from the site. There are four good pubs within walking distance and lots of other attractions in the immediate area including plenty of things for children to enjoy. Logs and kindling are really good value and there is free use of fire pits.
The owners are exceptionally friendly, helpful and flexible on arrival and departure times. We really appreciated being able to leave our Mazda Bongo on site on the Sunday so that we could enjoy a lengthy walk before leaving. The facilities are basic (portaloos, no shower or washing up) but they are well looked after.
We can't wait to go back.

We were the first ever campers at this site when it opened and we're so pleased to make it back as the first campers of 2019!
Things have got even better since our last visit, with a kitchen garden well underway and a posh cover for the bench should the weather turn on you.
What hasn't changed is how lovely the hosts are! Terry was very welcoming and went out of his way to make us feel at home (in our ridiculously large tent). Tiggy our little terrier was equally welcomed and once again, loved having a full field to jump around in.
The best bit? Camping under the same oak tree we got engaged under last year. A life long tradition, perhaps!?

This is an exceptional campsite with wonderful hosts Terry and Lynda. They were extremely helpful and welcoming.
It’s a beautiful and quiet location yet easy to get to.
The campsite is perfect for those that want a quiet organised campsite with all the basics that you need running water and loos!
The campsite is well maintained and surrounded by mature trees in an open field that looks over Bodiam castle.
I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

The rustic campsite is perfect for those who love back to basic camping in nature with campfires, peace and quiet by day and a million and one stars on a clear night.
No fuss, hassle free. Pitches are arranged around a large field with beautiful views all around, with Bodiam castle in view. Hosts are great and welcoming! We hope to revisit some time soon.

Terry and Lynda saved the day with having availability over the bank holiday weekend. We were a little anxious as to how rustic it would be but WOW, the views and the hospitality of the owners soon made it not matter.
To have an open campfire in the evening was great, the site we picked was fairly level for the campervan. We had a very windy night/day and Terry was there checking the tents and even tied one to his tractor.
We found plenty of walks in the area and had a trip out to Dungeoness.
The toilets were kept clean and being portaloos we found they didn't smell, handwash, and toilet rolls were supplied.
I would like to say. It was awful and keep it a secret but I'd be lying! I hope he has availability next time we need it! ;-) Thank you for having us.

We visited Damson Field in July as a two family party. Lovely field, with a fantastic view. Terry and Lynda were super and make us all feel hugely welcome, including our dog.
The site is spacious and basic, just a couple of portaloos (impeccably clean every visit) a water pipe and that's about it. We were lucky to get the pitch under a huge oak, which provided shade and shelter and has a picnic table. As for as we're concerned that's perfect. Firepit was provided and reasonably priced wood available, so we could have a fire.
Local walks and pubs were great; the Salehurst Halt is recommended. Will definitely be returning.

This is a very quiet and special campsite which offers seclusion, beautiful views, walks and the chance to totally relax. Bodiam castle can be seen in the distance. You can walk through woods to two or three local pubs. Campfires in pits are available for a small cost.
During the two day stay the owner Terry and his partner Lynda were excellent hosts; charging a battery for me and checking if all was ok.
A very memorable experience in a totally unspoilt camp site run on ethical principles and recommended. Ideal for quiet campers in search of a relaxing break.
I will certainly be parking up again very soon and looking forward to chatting to Terry about his adventures.

Fantastic unspoiled site in a beautiful location with wonderful views and very friendly, helpful owners. Very peaceful.
We'll definitely be back! Just don't use satnav postcode to find the site.
Going south from Bodiam it's the second on the left after you cross the river and railway, at the top of the hill.

We just spent a lovely peaceful weekend at Terry and Lynda's beautiful campsite. They have decided to keep the main field as meadow with the shady pitches around the edge which looks great and adds to the feeling of proper rustic camping in the country. They were both incredibly friendly and helpful and it was wonderful to be able to have a campfire in the evening.
We were very happy with the facilities of a toilet and drinking water as we enjoy the full camping experience. The field offers an unspoiled view across the valley.
It's also very well situated for visits to Hastings, Rye and other places of interest in East Sussex and Staplecross is nearby if you need to stock up on supplies. I couldn't recommend this campsite highly enough.
