The site for us was excellent value. The toilets and shower facilities were good and clean and the owners were very friendly. We did take a bucket for emergency toileting as suggested by other users on this site, but didn't have to use it. Can imagine though as the site was filling up for the Bank Holiday that there would be queues with toilets and showers. The use of the fridge/freezer and book swap was excellent. Arundel Castle was good but expensive at £32 for a family. The local shop in Angmering was OK but again very expensive when there is a supermarket just a little further on. We did go to Bognor and found that Butlins do day passes for £39. The only downside for the holiday was the weather which was horrific until the day we left. We will be back this is a really good site and for £5 its a bargain.

This site has a nice location with lots of footpaths nearby - ideal for dogs. The site itself consist of three main fields and the pitch space was fine. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. As mentioned by previous reviewers the site is basic with regards to facilities. There was a queue most mornings for the showers - something to be aware of if you need them. The field we were on had two portaloos and a large refuse bin. The only slight concern was that we were in the middle of the field and our EHU cable had to go across a good part of it to get to the socket. A small amount of noise from the nearby road but not a lot to be concerned about. When we stayed there were far more tents than caravans - apparently this is the norm as it is one of the few tent sites in the area. Overall a nice site and a good location with friendly owners to boot. The only downside would be if you were reliant on the shower block as it can get busy!

We were somewhat nervous that the site would be packed, given this was the first real weekend of summer and it was mid school holidays. We were very pleasantly surprised. The site was huge and our three tents and gazebo had plenty of room. The site is in a lovely location, and whilst the background hum of the A27 could be a criticism, it is a minor one more than made up for by the otherwise very peaceful site. The fact that this site is marketed at families and that young groups are discouraged was a bonus and there was no noise from other campers at all. As for facilities, the toilets and showers were adequate and quite satisfactory AND clean. The camp site has free use of a fridge freezer which was a real bonus. All of this for £5 the night - a bargain. We will definitely return

My wife and I and our dog just came back from a great weekend staying at this site. First thing I noticed when we checked in was how friendly and laid back the landlady was. We pitched in the larger lower field, loads of room, great views over the South Downs and really easy to get the pegs in! The traffic noise mentioned by another reviewer was almost unnoticable. Facilities were adequate, I think they've recently added some loos, we had no problems at all on this score. Great walk from site up to top of Highdown Hill, about a mile, excellent views down to the coast, you can see for miles. Angmering is just over a mile away, didn't walk in but the pubs looked OK from the outside. We had such a good time here, will definitely go back, can't really fault the place or owners in anyway at all. 10/10.

We had a lovely time here. The facilities are basic - the ladies loo ran out of loo roll and paper towels, but it's very clean. The area around the loos could be prettier, but it's very cheap. The owner (Mrs Ayre) was friendly and the little shed with book exchange, fridge/freezer etc is a nice touch. They put up regular listings telling you what's going on in the area. I'd recommend the Spotted Cow pub in Angmering (we had lunch and dinner there). The Londis shop in the village is open till eight and stocks a good range of basics. The only downside was the roar of the road nearby!

Just returned from a some what shorter stay then plan due to the monsoon weather conditions, but found this a pleasant and friendly site. We pitched in one of the smaller fields with electric hook up and this had a lovely view over to the hills,i expect when its not raining its a very relaxing view to sit and look over. Agree with other reviews about the toilets and showers, don't think they could cope when the site is full I had trouble getting in the ladies after a family seemed to have taken up residence in there and had to cross my legs for a while. Didn't have any trouble with hot water to wash up seemed to be plenty but being as it seems to run on an immersion heater maybe it needs to refill again if people have had a lot of showers. Took a lovely walk to the top of the hill and on a clear day there should be a fantastic view.
Pitch prices very good, use of a fridge/freezer and the book swap is a good idea. Will most definatly be returning very soon.

Very, very basic facilities with no hot running water for washing up. The price tells you all you need to know. Huge field to camp in with oodles of space. Close to amenities at Angmering (short walk along footpaths to nearest pub) and nearby Arundel Castle well worth a visit. If the field was full I don't think the toilets/showers could cope. A bit of 'distant' road noise from the A27 to Angmering link road but otherwise very peaceful - watch out for the mole hills when pitching!

A group of us stayed at Ecclesden Farm for 4 nights at the end of May. £60.00, for 3 huge tents, 1 utility tent, 1 trailer, 3 cars, 8 people and 1 dog. The owners are very easy going and friendly and offered us words of encouragement when pegging out our tents in gale force winds. The farm has very basic facilities, hence the price. The two ladies showers were powerful and hot and cleaned on a regular basis. The men's shower, apparently, was not as good, the water pressure was low. Two adult size loo’s and one child size loo in the men's, also a disabled toilet all with soap and loo roll. A sink for washing up would be a welcome addition. A word of warning though, if you don’t like spiders and cobwebs, do not look up whilst taking a shower.
We had plenty of space to pitch our tents, probably because of the high winds putting people off going. Not sure the facilities would be adequate when the site is full I should imagine there would be quite a scramble in the mornings. The site is well placed for a trip to Chichester and Arundel.

Stayed one night,£7 with EHU. 2 fields to use Basic facilities in old barn. 2 toilets and 2 showers for ladies, good hot showers in new cubicles. 1 toilet and shower for men. Small shed with fridge/freezer to use and books to borrow and swap.
Very quiet site within easy reach of Worthing and Arundel plus plenty of other places to visit. Will visit again when down that area.(good price)

We found the stay very inviting with a warm welcome. Just up the road is Arundel where there is lots to do . We enjoyed the castle and wildfowl. The campsite is designed well with lots of space and it was quiet busy with very friendly campers one of which helped me put my tent up. I would definitely return here in the near future. The shops are just up the road at Angmering.

Nice site, very basic but this is reflected in the price, toilets and shower clean, main road was a little noisy during early evening , close to coast and some nice country walks, owners very easy going, look forward to using this site again next year

Stayed for one night just to try out camping. Was just what we needed for a get away from it all break. The farmer was so friendly and helpful he told us it was really busy but we had a lovely space with a big empty field in the middle and all the tents around the outside of the field. Had to queue for the toilets so I would recommend not waiting till you are busting (or bring a bucket). You feel as if you are just left to get on with it (in a nice way) but you have the farmhouse there if you need them. Apparently in busy times they have extra portaloos in the fields which could be useful. Overall a lovely campsite one we will definitely be revisiting.

Just returned from a restful weekend at Ecclesden. Basic but very reasonably priced site in beautiful countryside with plenty of space to "get away from it all". Owners very friendly and relaxed. The mix of tents and caravans meant that the visitors were mixed families and couples. A couple more loos and showers would make it perfect, but this didn't spoil our time. A free firework display from the adjacent field's wedding party was a lovely bonus! As this was my first camping experience, I am looking forward to coming back!

We stayed here for one night and was really happy with this lovely basic site. We had a very friendly welcome on arrival and although we were told it was really busy that night, we had enough room and space for our tent without being too near to anyone else. Onlys probs was queing for the loo, we didnt need a shower as went straight home for one in the morning. Will def come here again was very relaxing site and want to explore the local area. As we were worried about a nearby thunderstorm we didnt brave walking to the pub and took the car so next time want to do the walks,

This is a very basic site but a lovely peaceful location. Fabulous dog walks and great pubs. Owners friendly and helpful. Only one shower and two toilets didn't find it a problem mid-july but don't how it will be during school holidays. Would not hesitate to go back again. A most enjoyable weekend.
