 What an absolute gem of a campsite! We had such a lovely stay and really didn’t want to leave.
The site is beautifully peaceful and quiet, with loads of space and the most incredible views. It’s genuinely somewhere you can relax, switch off and enjoy the countryside. The peace and tranquillity are a huge part of the appeal, so this is definitely a site for people who appreciate quiet rather than somewhere to come and make lots of noise.
There are so many thoughtful little extras that make a big difference — tea towels and washing-up liquid provided, separate toilets, and use of communal fridges and a freezer for keeping freezer blocks cold. Washer and drier (take detergent and pound coins) available too! You can also hire a fire pit, which is such a lovely touch for an evening sitting outside enjoying the surroundings.
It’s well off the beaten track, which we absolutely loved. Do make sure you follow the directions on the website when you arrive, as it’s properly tucked away! But that remoteness is exactly what makes the site so special.
The owners are incredibly hardworking, running the campsite alongside a working farm, and they were so friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.
A truly lovely place for anyone wanting peace, space, beautiful views and a proper escape from it all. We would definitely return.

A wonderful and isolated site situated just outside of Harlech.
We were warmly welcomed by the owner and personally taken to our pitch.
The site is small, very quite and has stunning views across to the Llyn Peninsular.
The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean and well maintained.
All in all a great site.

Large, flat pitch, well spaced out on a terraced field with stone walls and fabulous views.
Modern facilities well cared for, very pleasant, hard working owners.
Good grass, well drained.

What a spectacular campsite! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the pitches are really spacious. One thing I especially loved was being able to choose our own pitch on arrival from those available. I really don't like being allocated a pitch before you've even seen the site, so this was a huge plus for us.
We initially chose Pitch 13 because it felt private and had gorgeous views. After our first night, we realised the higher pitches had even better panoramic views for tents, so we asked if we could move to Pitch 12. The owners were more than happy to let us, and it was definitely worth it. Being able to sit inside the tent and look out over those incredible views was just glorious.
We visited midweek at the end of June/beginning of July, and the site wasn't busy. Personally, I don't think I'd have enjoyed it quite as much during the school holidays or on a busy weekend, as I prefer a quieter, less crowded campsite.
The whole site is beautifully maintained, and you can tell the owners take great pride in it. Lizzie was especially helpful. She even came to the rescue and helped re-peg a family's tent down after the wind got the better of it! (Definitely bring hard-ground tent pegs—they're well worth it. ) She was also really accommodating via email before we arrived.
The facilities were cleaned several times throughout the day, which was really appreciated. Unfortunately, not all campers are as considerate as they could be, but that's hardly the campsite's fault.
A really nice touch is that you can text to order a tub of logs, kindling and firelighters for £7, which I thought was very reasonable. They delivered it to our pitch within minutes.
We were only able to stay for three nights because of commitments back home, but we would happily have stayed much longer.
One tip for anyone visiting: follow the directions on the campsite's website. We ignored them and came via the steep, narrow road—it was certainly an experience! Instead, drive to Llanfair first and approach the site from there. It's a much easier route.
My only minor complaint—and it isn't the campsite's fault—is that someone had clearly stored some very strong-smelling fish or prawns in the communal fridge. The smell had transferred to some of our food. There are signs asking people not to store strong-smelling foods, so they had either been overlooked or ignored.
Overall, this is a fantastic campsite with spectacular scenery, peaceful surroundings, and plenty of sheep and cows as your neighbours, which was heaven for us. There is loads to do nearby, the views are unforgettable, and we can't wait to plan another visit.

One of the best sites I have stayed at. Well spaced pitches, good facilities (not hotel finish but clean and working well),
Helpful owners and views to die for!
This site is high up, isolated and exposed so come prepared and is accessed by steep gated roads so not for large caravans.
But it is magical.

Great camping! Views are stunning and you almost feel on top of the world.
Spacious pitches, very clean sanitair and again: absolutely nr. 1 view!
Harlech has nice, independent shops and good Coffee, ice Cream, quality Bread and other delicious food to offer.
You can walk from the camping to Harlech but it’s a stiff climb back.
Great beaches, not overcrowded.
Follow the route instructions at the website and you’ll be fine.

Myself, my daughter, 2 granddaughters 2 labradors followed by my other daughter, her partner and a jack russell for 1 night.
We had a superb stay, absolutely perfect for us. Gorgeous views, brilliant facilities.
This is my third visit to this site and, god willing it won't be my last.
The owners are some of the nicest people you could care to meet.
The site is spotless and no way were we crowded in, it was peaceful and quiet.

This is a first we can only say good things about this wonderful site. The stunning views are to die for. They changed throughout the day and must be wonderful whatever the season.
Such clean excellent facilities. Wonderful hot showers. Everything has been thought of even doggy poop bags for dog owners.
One of the most relaxing sites we've been to. Not even 49 mph winds one night spoilt our enjoyment.
We enjoyed a cycle to Harlech and walking possibilities were great. We will be returning.

The site is in a fabulous location. Up high above the town of Harlech.
Great size pitches, we also put up our awning and still lots of space between pitches.
Facilities were great, clean and only a minutes walk away.
Great walks in all directions from the site.
Met Lizzie when checked in.
Only time we saw them again was when they were working around their land, but they were both only a phone call away if required.

Wonderful, this is a room (well van) with a view. Situated in the hills above Harlech this campsite has stunning views down the coastline and out across the mountains.
Just about every pitch has magnificent views. There's also a picnic/viewing area for everyone to enjoy.
There's walks from the site plus it's also a good base for exploring the area.
It has good mixed facilities and a very good washing up room also equipped with washing machine, drier, freezer and fridge.
You can also hire a fire pit with wood and kindling brought to your pitch.
It's a long walk down to Harlech and a steep walk back - probably better to drive down.
We would definitely recommend The Harlech Grocer, which has fresh baked bread, deli and grocery. They will even deliver to the campsite on orders over £25. The ice-cream shop is some of the best we've ever had. And we'd also recommend the castle Café.
The question we always ask ourselves is would we come again, and the answer is Yes. Definitely. But if you have an old van don't go up the steep road!

This is a really recommendable site. Such beautiful views and such a nice owner and her children 🩷
It's a small family campsite with huge and well-leveled pitches.
Clean and well-maintained toilets. It's a wonderful feeling to be in the clouds while being there 🩷 I could go on praising it for a long time :)
I forgot the most important thing - the prices are so affordable ☺️
And only 12 minutes by car to the nearest beach 🫢

Loved everything about the campsite,
Weather was atrocious on arriving and not sure whether to stay longer but Lizzie and Bryn were so friendly,
Fantastic views the next day over sea, port merrion and snowdon,
Great walk to the castle and had a great time,

The campsite is surrounded by beautiful nature: sea and hills in the far.

Merthyr farm is simply the most wonderful campsite, and I have visited many! The view across Morfa Harlech from its elevated location simply never loses its “wow” factor!
Watching the sun set over the Lleyn Peninsula is a real treat !
The site is a perfect location for setting off on all day treks through the gorgeous countryside. Mountains, ridges, the world’s finest beach and wonderful undulating countryside mean that every day can be different and yet every day you return to the splendid view,
Excellent facilities, friendly welcome and start to plan for the next adventure!
Having just returned I am already looking at my diary to plan the next visit this summer!

Wonderful views, frightening road up to it!
Of course it's worth it once you are there, and the road is very quiet. BUT it's nearly 3 miles of single track with barely a passing place. I would suggest that you would only go once with a caravan.
It's also remote, Harlech only has small shops. The easiest one to get to is just off the main road, on the way to the beach, a boring expanse of sand in our opinion.
If you want better beaches, go to Porthmadog, turn left in the town, left again after about a mile to Borth-y-Gest. Park up and walk away from the village to where there are lovely coves, best accessed at high tide.
To sum up, everyone should go there once
