Just returned from my first camping trip, booked just a few days in advance and was lucky to get what must have been one of the last electric hookup pitches as they were almost fully booked.

We were pitched in the 'Pond Field' just a short walk from the facilities, which were excellent. 7 or 8 shower cubicles with free showers (push button), 6 sinks (4 of which were in their own cubicles) - think the women's were the same. 1 hair dryer was available - free to use. Washing up area had 5 or 6 sinks with free hot water - pressure a little low when busy though.

I made a point of getting up at 6.30am to avoid the shower rush-hour so never had to queue.

There was another facilities block in the first field but never visited these so I'm assuming they were identical - with the addition of laundry room.

Eveything was generally kept clean - as others have mentioned it's all down to who is using them.

The pitches are of a good size with space for a car and large tent. They also drained fairly quickly after the rain once the sun and wind did their thing.

There is a small playground next to the facilities in the first field which was in constant use - my son tried to use it but it was always too full.

Take water/mud proof footwear for the walk to the site shop as you have to walk through the farmyard and it got a bit muddy after heavy rain overnight - dried up in a couple of days sunshine though. If you have a weak stomach the smells in the yard could be a bit overpowering - my son always held his nose while going through. No smells reached the fields though so not a big issue.

There is a fishing pond in the Pond field which we took a look at on our first evening - there was at least one large carp in there! Didn't see anyone fishing so don't know how well it is stocked. The pond was fenced off but not gated - I would personally gate it to stop small children wandering in. More of an issue in the dark as it is by the toilet entrances so small children need to be supervised.

A great first camping trip, made easier by the good facilities and electric hookup.

The weather let us down on our last day so had to pack up in heavy rain - not pleasant!

I liked the park rule about people (especially children) having right of way on site (10mph limit) and vehicles always stopped to let people by so I wasn't too worried about my son going off on his own (which in itself was a testament to how safe you felt on site as he normally wouldn't go off by himself)

Spent most evenings eating out in Swanage which was a lovely place and not too far away - can't comment on the more local eateries but other campers said they were good.

Overall it is a great camp site and will definitely return. Wish the site shop opened a little earlier though :)

Our first visit to this particular site, but we're very familiar with the area around Corfe Castle, which is beautiful.

Similar comments to other reviewers: the new toilet/shower block was good but very poor hot water in the washing up area; just a trickle mostly. Thankfully this didn't affect the showers; they were lovely and hot with good pressure. A very long walk though if you're in the top field. Pitch sizes are very large with plenty of space between for children to run and play cricket without disturbing fellow campers.

The first weekend of August and this site was fully booked but it never felt overcrowded and we never had to wait for toilets or showers to become free.

A lovely idea to be on a working farm, which did look pretty tired in places, but the children loved seeing all the newborn calves and the pets corner. It was nice to see that their main business was farming, not the camping.

If you're feeling energetic, a walk along the Purbeck Way into Swanage is a must - allow a good couple of hours - with the steam ride home again for those who can't manage another 7 miler! Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door with the walk between the two is another great day out and Monkey World about 10 miles away. We got the ferry across to Sandbanks and spent a few hours on the beach lazing around.

We would certainly come back to Norden Farm - and it's useful being able to book ahead, unlike some campsites in the area which operate a turn up and find out option - not a good idea with childrne and dogs in tow!

First visit to this site although we have stayed in many in the area. It was a very busy weekend being the last weekend of the carnival week. It was very busy full to the brim and unfortunately the facilities were not enough for this amount of people.

Quite often a queue for the loo and long queues for the showers. However it is in a nice setting with some nice views but can get very windy. I wouldn't mind visiting again but not in high season.

Wow what a brilliant campsite! we arrived july 24th to the smell of cow dung on a red hot day. Set up camp, and headed out to corf. Every where we went was fab, poole, swanage, shellbay, knoll beach.

The campsite itself is in a really good position, for everything. It is lovely and clean the toilets and showers and a great family room for those like myself with small children.

The shop is well stocked, and the staff are nice and helpful would go back tomorrow, only they are booked up for the season. A must for next year though, kids loved it and so did the grown ups.

Just returned from Norden farm - our second time this year at this site. A large but traditional farm campsite with lots of animals about and accessible although this is a working farm with vehicle movements etc.

Toilet blocks are good with a second block new this year. The other block is modern and well kept. The site was very busy but the facilities and cleaning regime coped despite sometimes the worst efforts of some campers as always.

Pitches are all flat and grass. The grass has stood up well in this virtual desert climate this year.

A shop is on site together with restaurant, takeaway, garden centre, pets corner etc. All with a rustic charm!

Fishing lake/pond also available at no charge.

Excellent location with good access to walking and just outside Corfe Castle. Steam train runs regularly into swanage.

We ate out at the Greyhound in Corfe which was good and the Castle inn in Corfe which was not!

We stayed in a small group in the Top Field where there are no set pitches.

The site is excellent with lots of farm animals to see for the kids and is only a short picturesque walk into Corfe. The toilet blocks were clean and though the site was full of families, all was quiet by 10:30pm'ish. The on site B&B now does evening meals incl take aways which though not cheap were very tasty.

The only thing to be aware of is, when staying in Top Field, due to the site being in a small valley, the wind can howl across the field so you will need to make sure tents, awnings etc, are well pegged down as we saw a number of guy ropes blowing in the wind with pegs nowhere to be seen !

This is a great site, we stayed for 9 nights with 2 young children in a caravan with EHU. From previous reviews I was a little concerned over what to expect however was surprised by the size of the farm and its facilities. This is a working farm and this was the appeal for us as a family with small kids, they loved seeing a new born calf taking its first steps and seeing all the other animals, tractors and real farm life - smells and all!

The staff were all friendly and you have to remember that camping isnt there only income, they work the farm so are busy all the time.

There is a new shower block and toilets opened up in the top two fields, yes the ratio of toilets / showers to people isn't great at peak times but stagger when you go, always plenty of hot water and clean. These two top fields seemed to be used by mainly tenters.

We were in the Main field next to Donkey Field which was a good location, just far enough away from the play park and main farm buildings but not in with the tents that were sometimes a bit loud at night.

The first block of showers/facilities had a family room with a bath which was great as my youngest can't stand showers and screams the place down so was great to have a room where we could all shower/bath together at the same time, the room also has a toilet and hand basin and a large worktop if you need to change a baby.

A newly refurbed wooden play area was great, toddlers loved it as well as older children, it is immediately in front of the washing up facilities so you can wash up whilst the kids play.

There is a fishing area up behind the upper field facilities block which is slightly fenced off but I warned mine not to go near there and all was fine. The farm shop sells everything and at reasonable prices too.

Excellent location, we visited near by Corfe Castle, Swanage Steam train from Norden (mins up the road), Monkey World, Bovington Tank Mueseum, fossil exploring in near by bays, crabbing on the beach, Poole harbour and shops are accessible via a toll ferry from Studland(much quicker and more fun and £1 return each adult on foot), Brownsea Island, Lulworth Cove, Kimmerage Bay (great cafe there lovely food), beautiful beaches at Studland (watch out one of the three is a nudist beach!), Bridport/West Bay, Lyme Regis - there is soooooo much to do and see here.

Pub just up the road called the 'Half Way House' great value for money and lovely food.

Norden House looked nice, didn't actually eat there ourselves but they offer a take a away service too.

Overall a great find, ignore the negative reviews and see for yourself!

Fantastic site, busy as summer holidays, but that's a good sign and to be expected. Lovely new toilet / shower block since last visit, I noticed no problems with water pressure. This is in Top field so no long walk to the original block (which is still as good).

Playground facilities could be better. Very well stocked site shop, and in high season there is a food van that is open for breakfast / tea - we didn't try this but our friends did and the food was good.

Surrounding area is great. Corfe Castle great, lovely pub called The Greyhound serves great cream teas and food! Swanage and Studland right on the doorstep - Studland is fantastic.

Yes, the site is on a farm, so if you go there, you would expect farmyard smells / sounds - all part of being in the countryside and I have no problem with this.

Can't wait to go back there in a couple of weeks!

Lovely site on a working farm. Helpful staff and a well stocked shop which was open from 8am to 6pm. Restaurant on site for those who don't want to cook.I did not try this so cannot comment.

Toilet and showers block was ok and cleaned daily.Ladies toilets would benefit from proper sanitary disposal boxes and not just a waste bin.

Would be good if the drinking water tap was signposted. The farm dog was very friendly and the kids loved to cuddle him. Good size pitch and great views. Would certainly return again.

Stayed here 9th - 11th July 2010 camped in the Pond field with electric hook up. Well cut, gentle sloping pitch with plenty of space for our 5m Bell tent.

The new toilet and shower block was nice and clean, although the water pressure at the hand basins was low the showers worked well and were always at the perfect temperature. Our daughter loved the play area. The shop was well stocked with provisions and also had a good selection of interesting garden plants for sale outside too. It was great to see the young calfs, lambs and donkeys.

A nice walk up onto the ridge gives great views of corfe castle.

There is a pond behind the toilet block so young children should be supervised; this is well away from the camping areas, so they should not be there alone anyway.

A good site in a great location; we'll be back soon.

This was our second visit to this excellent site.

The site comprises 3 large fields, 2 with EHU and one without. We've stayed in both EHU fields. In both the pitch size is large.

The site is part of a working farm so there is some noise from the animals, but this just adds to the atmosphere. There is a well stocked shop. The shower and toilet facilities are excellent - large and clean.

The Purbeck Way runs close to the site and this is one route into Corfe Castle - about a 30 minute, easy walk mostly through woodland.

Alternatively a short walk on the side of A351 (verge is wide, but road can be very busy) brings you to the Norden Park and Ride operated by the Swanage Railway. There are regular steam trains (particularly in summer months) to Corfe Castle and onto Swanage.

There's lots to do in the area and this site is a great place to relax afterwards. I'm sure we'll return soon.

Beautiful location, very friendly and relaxing. Showers and toilets excellent and spotless, friendly staff and very good value.

It is a working farm so kids will need to be supervised and told not to go in the working areas or the pond if they are of that age. The play area for toddlers is brilliant. The pigs, calves, peacocks and all the other wildlife walking around are more than enough to entertain.

The sights, sounds and smells of the farm were so nice and the walks to Corfe Castle and surrounding areas are breathtaking, The Castle Inn and the Greyhound are well worth the 20 min walk past the Castle.

Worth visiting as it is so laid back.

We were not particularly impressed with Norden Farm. It's in a lovely location but the following issues put us off returning:

- Toilets were not especially nice or clean.

- Grass was a little too long and ground very bumpy.

- A large young group were playing their music loud until 11pm. We complained about this and were told that the curfew was 11pm so it was 'fine until then'.

- Staff were not particularly friendly when booking, nor when we got there.

- Farm smell. Not a big deal but not exactly inviting.

Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I've been to nicer sites elsewhere so I'll look around for a different site on my next trip to this region.

The tent field was very flat and absolutely beautiful. I had noticed the stagnant pond, but I didn't draw attention to it with my 3 kids. But I suppose the previous reviewer is right to point out that it is unsafe.

The showers were clean and when they worked they were fine. Considering they had just been built, it did seem a bit short sighted to have only 6 cubicles in the women's block and 5 basins (only 3 in cubicles) but my husband said he didn't have a problem on any day getting a nice shower.

The soap ran out in the toilets and was not replenished.

The water pressure was an issue and indeed did completely run out at some point, but I know they were trying to get that fixed.

It was the first site we have stayed on with a shop and it was very handy to have this luxury.

I thought it was a spacious and family-friendly site. The play area / swings etc is woefully small for the nuber of children on the site, but ours didn't really go to that part, they just hung out in the field playing dens etc.

So I would recommend it. And it was very well located for Studland, Lulworth, Swanage etc.

We visited end of half term week, we hadn't booked but had no problems getting a pitch. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were told we could pitch where we liked, in the top field. The field was spacious and only half full.

There was a new toilet, shower and washing up block in the top field, that was kept clean and always had hot water. There were muddy footprints but it had been raining, what else do you expect. Showers were roomy with an area to dry yourself, some sinks were in cubicles for privacy too. We never had to queue to use any of these facilities, but we can avoid the obvious rush hours as we don't have children.

There were other fields with serviced pitches which were full, and these had another toilet, shower, washing up block with a children's play area.

There is a small unfenced fishing lake behind the toilet block, but not hidden.

The on-site shop was well stocked. The campsite is near the steam railway which you could walk to and found it's location very handy for Swanage, Studland beach and Corfe.

In all, a reasonably priced, relaxing site that had all the facilities we needed and we will return to.
