I have spent many years visiting this site over the years. The improvements to the site since I first started going are fantastic. The showers and toilets are kept incredible clean and well presented.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the shop is very well stocked.
The sites are large and mostly flat. It is always a pleasure going here and plenty of attractions nearby.
Highly recommended a full 10 put of 10 in every area.
Really fantastic site that has exceeded our expectations. Communication before the stay was excellent. Flat, level pitches, lots of space, decent facilities.
Lovely little playground and lots of animals for the kids. Excellent large farm shop selling all the necessities, lovely fruit and veg and chilled drinks including excellent local cider, beer and wine.
There’s a very exciting vending machine selling luxury local dairy products - perfect for a dessert of Dorset strawberries and cream. Fire pits for hire and good value wood and coal available. Food vans for breakfast and dinner from Wednesday onwards (I think this varies from week to week).
There has been a problem with the water during our stay, the campsite has solved this by providing temporary showers. There were a group of noisy campers on our first night, these were dealt with by staff, for which we were extremely grateful!
The campsite is a 15m footpath walk away from the lovely village of Corfe castle, with several decent country pubs.
The one improvement I would make to the site is to provide an additional toilet block at the end of the top field, as it is quite a walk from here to the nearest facilities in the dark.
All in an extremely pleasant experience and I will definitely return. via mobile
This is the fourth year running that I have come to Norden Farm for my summer holiday. Its a really friendly site where everyone is more than happy to help if you have a problem - both the staff and your fellow campers.
Because of the weather forecast I arrived a day early so my first night on site was interesting due to the gale force winds and torrential rain but after that there was a marked improvement in the weather making for an extremely relaxing holiday.
I walked down to Corfe castle - visited the castle and rewarded myself with a delicious cream tea from the National Trust tea shop which is next door.
This year I decided on a day trip to Guernsey on the high speed ferry from Poole. It was a great day out - you get about 4 hours in Guernsey and I'm definitely going back again next year. On top of all that Guernsey has no sales tax so you can make a significant saving if you buy from there. On top of that there is duty free on the boat so you can stock up.
Counting the days until I go back to Norden Farm - I booked next years trip before I left the site this year.
We chose this site mainly for its location and facilities. It's a lovely site and we are wanting to return. The site is divided into 3 smaller more formal fields with electric, and then a top field which has more pitch freedom.
Groups are requested to pitch on one side here and individual tents on the other which I thought was a good system. The pitches are spacious and mainly level.
The facilities are very good, there are two main blocks spread out. The toilets were clean and big showers without press buttons, although I found the block nearer to pond field and the top field more likely to have queues- it's worth walking over to the others if this is the case.
Washing machines and tumble dryers, washing up under cover, a little playpark, a fishing pond and a small farm are all here too. Ice blocks are available to hire from the shop for 25p, there are no facilities to freeze your own.
The on site shop is excellent and offers a good range of camping essentials and food. We were also appreciative of the on site food- there is a stand throughout the summer offering fast food- burgers and chips, chilli etc as well as visiting hog roasts, pizzas and cheese toastie vans. Twice, there was a music evening which was low key (all finished by 9:30pm) and rather enjoyable.
It's a short walk to Corfe from the campsite, where there is a small village, the castle, access to the steam railway and a number of pubs that also serve food- the Bankes Arms had a fish speciality night which we thought was excellent.
We also visited Studland bay beaches, Brownsea island, Swanage, Tyneham and other coastal walks, all easy enough from the site (although there is also a bus service which stops outside the entrance too).
Another pleasant stay at Norden Farm, I last stayed here 2 years ago. The site is well maintained, with level pitches available throughout. A real farm with a friendly staff who I have always found helpful.
The walk into Corfe is very good, the Purbeck Way adjoins the site and is a good way to get into Corfe, but the other path is also handy. The Swanage Railway from Norden station is only 10 mins walk away, and a ride to Swanage is a good day out.
We have just returned from a week at Norden Farm, having stayed with my son and his young family on an adjacent pitch. We all had a good time and cannot recommend this site too highly for family groups.
The site is well managed and kept clean and tidy in spite of our visit being at a very busy time in the heart of school holidays.
As others have said it is difficult to add to what other positive things people have said about the site. We really enjoyed our 2 weeks and the only blemish are other campers and you can't blame the site for that, not sure they would make a lot of money if they all opened for my exclusive use LOL.
The Star filled skies at night are great. The occasional event is a great plus. The facilities are well looked after and things that are broken all seemed to be fixed the next day. There is a takeaway food van all through Summer and occasional visiting Pizza Oven and Hog roasts too.
Impossible to add much to the last review, great detail! However, just have to say that this is a great site. It is well kept, due to the hard working team. It is well situated with plenty to do in the local area.
We like the fact that it is an open site ( no little hedges etc) and the views are lovely. Perfect for that evening glass of wine in the sun!
The shop has just about everything you could ask for and the Dorset apple cake is a “must” ! We have just booked for another visit soon.
We love this campsite. This is our 3rd year and each year we cannot fault it. This year we arrived on one of the hottest days of the year (so far) to discover that OH had somehow got dates mixed up and we had arrived a day early. The young man was very obliging and said not to worry but we couldn't get on our desired pitch but instead gave us a choice of 2 others to look at. We finally chose our pitch and started setting up. We were just at the most heaviest part (all poles and canvas stacked to begin pulling out and pegging in) and the same guy came by and offered to help. He was a god send as it was so hot and we'd had a 6. 5 hour journey beforehand.
So I'll start with staff. Very helpful and pleasant plus they all seem to take pride in the site and all work hard - this includes shop staff, cleaners and gardeners/farmers. Well done staff!
It's a working farm and there are all sorts from pigs, sheep, cows, donkeys, ducks, geese, turkeys etc and a lot of peacocks and peahens who roam freely. Each year (in May) there are babies whether they are calves, lambs or piglets in pens. The children love them. The piglets this year were adorable. One year we saw deer running through.
The area has lots of varied things to do and you'll find it hard to discover it all in a week or even two. The farm is nearly at the foot of Corfe Castle and Corfe itself - there's a walk from the site which take about 20-30 mins. So the location is great as it's more or less central to most things and nowhere is too far to drive to.
Down to camping. The pitches are flat and the ground is great to peg into. Depending where you are, but generally pitch sizes are generous. There are 3 fields which have EHU and a large field which is non EHU.
Two toilet blocks, with male and female shower facilities and a section in the middle for either and separate toilets. I visited both and toilets have always been spotless and the showers always have hot water and, again, spotless.
Dishwashing in a separate room - always hot water and information to read while you're drying up.
There are several dog walks with poopa scoopa bins. Also walks up into the hills. And if your dog rolls in something nasty, there is a dog shower room.
There's a small pond for fishing.
The shop is well stocked and sells a wide variety of food, small camping gear, dog food, treats, gear and toys, cold beers/ciders, wine etc. , plus other things and is well priced (in fact sometimes cheaper than in Corfe). It also has a wide variety of plants on offer.
Bit trickey turning right off the main road so we just continued on another 100 yards or so, went round the roundabout, then made a left turn. Much easier than waiting for a gap in the traffic.
The site is a working farm, there are all kinds of animals around with peacocks, ducks, geese and baby pigs just roaming free. Lovely warm welcome from the staff. They were all so helpful and happy to give information on walks, bus times, places to go (or not to go). Very well equipped shop, good selection of groceries, camping spares and cakes to die for. All at very reasonable prices.
Two of the fields have marked out pitches and two others are more informal so you can pitch up where you want. A selection of electric and non electric pitches. Two amenities blocks, showers lovely and hot, always clean. Could do with a bit better lighting but that's just a small point.
Bus stop right outside the site. Easy to walk into Corfe Castle. Loads of walking direct from the site. Can't wait to return.
