Myself, Mandy and our two girls took a last minute break to Norden Farm at Whitsun 2009. We all agreed that it was possibly the best camping holiday we have taken since our family camping trips started in 2004.
The site is idyllic and very laid back, even though it was nearly full to capacity. The toilet / showers were clean and modern (apart from the toilets next to the Pond, which were a bit tired). The farm is wonderful and the kids had a wonderful time exploring and 'fishing' with their nets. They have made efforts to overcome the drainage issues and continue to do so, but I imagine that summers such as 2007 & 2008 would require wellies at best (waders at worst).
The shop is well stocked with everything you could need;- food and drink to spare socks and spare parts!
We had two concerns; first is that the hot water can run out after 8-9 in the evening, and secondly there are no Loos or Showers in the Top (main camping) Field meaning a long trek to the shower / toilet or to do the washing-up- Fitted ISO Units would be ideal (these could be seasonal- Whitsun and summer holidays only).
All in all the family had a great time at Norden Farm and we already planning a return in the near future.

Just got back from spending 3 nights over the May half term. What a great friendly site. Quite busy but toilets kept clean. Great site for family's. Our kids loved looking around the farm and watching the cows being milked. As for location Great. All the major sites and beaches within 20min drive. Great for walkers. We are already planning our next visit.

Only 1 bad point need more toilets and wash area in camping fields but work is being done to improve this. Still not putting us off.

We stayed on the donkey field near to the chickens (Cockrell gets up at dawn!) This was quite a trek to the toilet block which was far too small for the amount of pitches. Often had to queue for showers and gents toilets. Due to the amount of usage they became dirty quickly, clean if you are an early morning riser.

One of the chickens was very friendly and was often in our tent. It laid us 3 eggs, very free range.

This site welcomes groups often with young families. While the adults are having a good time the children are often unsupervised chasing around other peoples tents.

A very nice area with lots to see and do. We took the very short ferry (£3.00 per car) from Studland to Sandbanks and went to Poole / Bournemouth much quicker and nicer than driving around in traffic.

We came to this campsite AFTER the Whitsun bank holiday (avoiding the busy weekend, we thought). When we arrived we were surprised at just how many pitches there were as ukcampsite had listed it as having 92 pitches. It turned out that there were over 300: not what we wanted at all. We were pitched in the 'top field' so named because its A LONG WAY from the main shower block. There was a rather crumby old set of four loos and a portaloo block for top field, and some washing-up sinks that ran out of hot water all too quickly. In the end we trekked to the main block for washing up, and yes I even resorted to driving one day when I'd had enough.

The showers were, I have to say, the best I have ever seen on a campsite: no cost, really well designed wetrooms. But there were only 12 (4 unisex, 4 ladies and 4 gents) Inevitably there were queues out of the door in the morning. There was the foundation laid for another block in top pitch. Another thing to mention was the baler twine used to fence off some of the field: at least three children nearly garotted themselves running into this at twilight when it became invisible.

The first three days were quite nice despite the trek to the showers, but then as the weekend approached bucketloads of campers arrived - probably attracted by the fact there was a 'pitch anywhere' policy. The 11pm quiet rule that most campsites seem to follow was disregarded.

We decided on this site after reading all the reviews on here. We loved it! Went Friday to Monday on Spring Bank Holiday. Weather helped I guess as it was fantastic. The site itself is wonderful, so peaceful yet full! no morning noise, and only kids playing and cheerful laughter in the evenings.
The pitches are HUGE! so much space! The facilities in Pond Field were more than adequate. The new modern block by the entrance is fantastic. All in all Norden Farm made our maiden voyage perfect. Thank you! We will definitely be back.

Stayed at Norden Farm on 1st camping trip to try out new tent and equipment. Very reasonable price.

This was a very nice site in a good location for Swanage, Wareham and the rest of the Isle of Purbeck.

Being a working farm, the site has all the sounds and smells you might expect but that was not a problem.

The toilet/shower facilities are very good; clean, modern and plenty of hot water.

Would recommend.

Just returned from this site, shower block/toilets were excellent. My 4 year old was amused by the farm animals as this is a working farm. We were put into the Donkey field instead of the top field, so not far from toilets! Corfe castle is awe inspiring from which ever angle you come at it. Swanage is nice for evening strolls with a child who refuses to walk very far. Tyneham deserted village was well worth visiting and also walk down to Worbarrow beach well worth the mile walk from car park, despite my 4 year old whining down and back!

Lovely location. Very close to Corfe Castle, no need to take the car, just follow the path - it's a lovely walk. The staff are very friendly and the shop has just about everything you need.

The rules could be tightened up a bit i.E. Keep the noise down after 10pm like some other sites and also to keep dogs under control. We had one in particular who liked to come and pee on our tent. We weren't alone. It peed on our neighbours as well! Also saw a dog doing his business with no owners around to pick up and with children playing. That's a no,no.

For the size of the site it could probably do with some more facilities. Sometimes had to queue for the showers and the washing up area was also quite small. My advice is, get up early! The loos were quite a distance. Ok if you're a fella (if you get my drift) but for us girlies it's not so great in the early hours.

Overall a really nice site, very friendly staff and a lovely location. I guess the only downside were some of the inconsiderate people that were staying on the site but you can't have it all!

We stayed at this site over the bank holiday weekend with a group of friends. As we didn't have an EHU we were able to pitch altogether. If we had wanted one we probably would have separate. It seemed that this site was popular with groups, mainly families rather than loud young people.

Had it rained the site would have been very very muddy.

The main toilet and shower block were very good and had decent sized cubicals (about 6 in total in the ladies) and a hair drier etc. The smaller toilet block in the top field was perfectly ok for that early morning trip!

Site is a short drive from Studland and Swanage.

Overall a great site, but not enough showers considering there are 4 camping fields and one shower block. I had to queue out of the door one day! The shop is well stocked.

This camp site is really good, the shop has everything you need and more. The staff are friendly and the location is perfect.

They tend to cram a lot of units in one field and were not keen on us having a pitch next to our friends. Dogs are welcome on the site but there is no separate dog loo area.

Due to the amount of tents in our field, it was very noisy until the early hours, we did have to queue for showers and washing up facilities, but they were clean and modern.

Visited this site over Easter Weekend staying from Saturday until the Tuesday. After reading the reviews on this site it looked like a good place to stay and very close to Swanage and Corfe Castle.

Made very welcome upon arrival, and impressed with the shop for price and range of produce.

Taken to a pitch in the field to the right of Main Field. Very level which was excellent for our folding caravan. All the pitches were very spacious and there was plenty of room for our Daughter to play. The Play Area was close by and our Daughter enjoyed making new friends and seeing all the farm animals wandering around. The Pets corner went down a treat with the children.

Showers and Toilets very clean and plenty of them. The family shower was particularly good as it included a toilet and a small bath!

Clean washing up facilities and launderette and there was a free spinner which proved very useful.

All in all a wonderful camp site, only be aware of plenty of farm yard smells as you enter site! However, once you get to pitches you quickly forget you are on a farm.

We've just returned from an Easter break here & chose this campsite based on the reviews on this site. Largely they were accurate ie. Beautiful setting, friendly staff, well stocked shop etc. However we really must disagree with the comments about the showers/hot water. The hot water for washing up was hit & miss at best. When it worked, there was plenty of it & it was piping hot, but we had to wash up in cold water at least 3 times over the weekend. As for hot showers - they were more like luke warm trickles! No matter what time of day you used them, you could not get anything like decent water pressure on the hot water.

The 'basic' facilities in the wooden hut in the top field are still there, as are the signs telling you that they are soon to be improved

All in all this is a beautiful setting & we'd love to return but not until they've got the hot water sorted out.

Norden Farm is located on the road from Wareham to Corfe Castle. It is a working farm and on arrival you pass the farm house and pull up at the site office which is located next to animal pens and has a distinct farmyard aroma. But bear with it, things are about to get better.
The staff very friendly and helpful and a quick browse of the shop shows it well stocked and not badly priced. You are shown to your pitch by a chap on a quadbike so no worries over getting lost. The site is set over several named fields Eg Donkey field, Pond Field etc.
Most pitches are marked out and have EHU except the far field where there is no power but you can pitch where you like and there is bags of space. The site is in a valley with woods on either side and unspoiled views to the end of the valley.
The main amenity block is first class. Recently built with plenty of showers, clean toilets, a family bath room, laundry and washing up room (even a pet bathing room !) There is another toilet block in Pond field halfway up the site but it has seen better days. Its a wooden affair with wooden partitions and a few stalls. It is cleaned in the morning but the mud does get traipsed through and can look poor later. It has a lean-to on one side with 3 washing up sinks. They are a bit rickety but there always seemed to be hot water available. On a positive note, there is a notice acknowledging the condition and promising it was to be replaced during the next year.
We had no problem using it for washing up and a morning loo visit but that said, its only a few minutes walk to the main block and shop. There is a small children's playground next to the main block and a pets corner with lots of farm animals. There is also B&B in the farmhouse and a small area with plants for sale.
There is fishing available at the two ponds on site, which seemed well used.

There is no clubhouse so its a nice quiet site with no late night noise but it is Dorset so there is bags of stuff to do locally. Weymouth is about 40 minutes away, Monkey World, Bovington tank museum, Swanage, Studland bay and Lulworth cove are about 25 minutes away. Corfe Castle is a mile away and there are walks from the site through the woods to the castle.

The Swanage Steam railway runs from just across the road from the site and is great for a day trip to Swanage. There are a few nice pubs, esp the one on the main road towards Wareham about five minutes from site. All in all a quiet clean site in a pretty setting. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.

We loved this site! It felt like the farms I camped on as a child- a real working farm with a relaxed atmosphere. We camped on the top field which had fantastic views over the beautiful landscape. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the ladies in the brilliant little shop.
The site is in an excellent location for visiting the Isle of Purbeck's many attractions- the Swanage Park and Ride train is just a few minutes walk away. The new shower block, near the cowsheds and caravans is superb-very clean and you can use as much water as you. There are free hairdriers too. The older toilet block was basic but I was told by a 'regular' that it was being replaced for 2009. Excellent news as we plan to go back.
If you need a clubhouse, arcades and so on, then avoid this site. If you want a share of Dorset magic, then this could be the site for you!

 One of my favourite sites;

If you like club houses, well kept gardens and hedgerows, easy access to arcades and chip shops you will hate it. If you like peace and quiet, beautiful views and ample country walks, tea rooms and village pubs you will love it!

Dog friendly, has its own dog shower!

Great country walks in all directions. We walked south to coast and another day to Swanage.

Nice off road walk into Corfe (1mile) for pubs and national trust tea rooms.

Shower block at entrance is quite new and superb.

Site is working farm so more interesting than many sites.

Lovely beeches at Swanage and Studland.

The Purbeck area in general has a lovely unspoilt feel about it which you just don't get further up the Jurassic coast. Dont forget to take the ferry there from Poole!
